MFP Lemon Meringue Challenge

Hi, Friends.......

I bet after my Whipped Cream Background technique, you took one look at the title of this post and thought I was going to stick a piece of glossy paper in a lemon meringue pie, right??  Ha.  Nope.  Not this time, at least.  lol.... But I am not making any promises about future posts!!

Lemon meringue is the theme for MFP Simple Salutations Challenge this week.  I had just got this fun citrus stamp in a grab bag of unmounted rubber this last week, so I hoped it would work for this challenge!  I don't think it is really supposed to be a lemon, but humor me....okay?  :)

I stamped the lemon stamp twice on some Glitz patterned paper from the discontinued Vintage Blue stack I received as a prize.  (Thanks, Glitz!!!)  and heat embossed it in glittery pale yellow....looks white in photo...(sigh)  I fussy cut around the images and cut one of them in half for the wedge.  I mounted the images on some cute DCWV Spring/Summer Printed Corrugate and cut around the contours before mounting it.   The sentiment (from my stash) is also stamped and embossed it in glittery pale yellow.  The yellow paper with polka dots is also from the Glitz Vintage Blue stack.  The other cardstock is Coredinations.

This is NOT the card I started out to make, but I am not dissatisfied with it.  Different and simple is okay, too, sometimes.  But what am I going to do with all this DCWV Botanical paper I have all over my craft area that I had planned to use????  (shakes head...)  Not sure I have the energy to make two Lemon Meringue cards, but who knows????

Hey, I have THREE new followers!!!!  (I also have 3 new kittens, but that is for another post.  I think if I don't talk about them, maybe I won't get attached......Ha!)  Ahem....anyway.....as I was saying....these new followers bring me up to 41!!!  I actually only have 40, but Google Friend Connect has this weird sense of humor and says 41, when it only shows 40 pictures.  I am flummoxed.  But since I am gathering things for my.........
50 Follower Giveaway!!!!!
I am trying to watch it carefully.  I fear that some devoted follower has been eaten and I wish I knew who it was so I could summon a cyber Roto-Rooter to go down Blogger's throat and rescue them.  (Sigh...)

  4. Okay, I'm not sure what I like more...your awesome card or that ridiculously funny how-to on weighing yourself..haha! I see that I've also been doing it wrong all these years...who knew? Anyway, what a creative card...cutting out your own lemon wedge was a simple way to make your stamp even more versatile. All the texture from the corrugated cardboard and the embossing adds so much! Another winner!
