Retro Christmas Card

Hi, Friends......

I am here with a quick card I didn't get a chance to post yet.  I made this with leftover things from my cards here and here.

This card features a layered embossed background using DCWV scraps and my Darice - Interlocking Circles folder, an Echo Park journaling card, and some wonderful 3-D Christmas stickers with the fun little VW bug from my past, I mean my stash.  I added a tiny "pinch" of baker's twine for the smoke curling from the chimney.  LOVE!!!

I will figure out who won my mystery prize on the Coffee Lovers Hop and try to get that posted tomorrow.

I am still baking cookies and getting cards ready to mail.  Not sure how Christmas manages to sneak up on me so cleverly each year.  What would I do if it fell in March or something??????  lol...

Hope your homes are bright and merry and your friends and families are gathering around.  We have a fresh blanket of snow and more on the way.  White Christmas, here we come...  I LOVE Idaho!!!

  8. That's wonderful the way you've been using up bits of scrap from previous cards and making new designs in the process. I try to do that but always end up with what looks like even more leftovers than when I began! Look at you, combining elements from more than one manufacturer and having it all coordinate so perfectly!! The twine as chimney smoke is such a creative idea and one I never even thought to do (and with my being such a fan of twine). The little VW bug would have been hard for me to part with because it's so darn cute!

  10. Wow! Way to give new life to your scraps! This was a good reminder to me to sift through my leftovers. And I really love the card itself! It brought back a lot of happy holiday memories and I like how you created a mini-scene here. I thought that the twine out of the chimney was especially brilliant. I like the traditional color palette you used, yet this is still totally refreshing and modern. Thanks for sharing your talents with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
