Day 1 - 2016 CAT LOVERS HOP

Wanna know what it's been like here in my craft room getting ready for this hop???  Yep!  Craftnado in Progress!!

http://herpeacefulgarden.blogspot.com/2016/10/the-2016-cat-lovers-hop-is-here.html

Hi, Friends......

Welcome to the Day 1 post for the 2016 Cat Lovers Hop here at Her Peaceful Garden.  So glad to see you and I hope you are getting your cat projects ready to link up over HERE.  Please do not link up your cat hop projects on this post.  Only Daily Game linkups go on the Daily Posts.

Just so you know what to expect....each of my daily posts (they will have titles like "Day 1..." "Day 2...." "Day 3...") will be comprised of two main parts:
 1.  I will introduce several of our generous sponsors and showcase the prizes they are providing by showing you a project that I or one of their team has made, if available.
 2.  I will introduce the Daily Game, including the Daily Prize generously donated by Ike's Art.  I hope to showcase the prize each day with a card I made!

Introducing........
THE SPONSORS FOR DAY 1

 ***************************************

First on the list is Waffle Flower!!!

Nina at Waffle Flower is a returning sponsor and this year is sending her adorable Waffle Flower - Welcome Spring stamp set to one lucky participant.  I love Nina's happy and whimsical artwork.  Last year's loooooong cat and this year's frolicking kittens are just adorable!!

Are you thinking that you might have to wait until spring to use the adorable kittens in this set????  Think again!  :)  Here's the autumn card I made with the set Nina so generously sent to me:
Aren't those kittens just the cutest things ever???!!!

For this card, I dry embossed one of my "marker refill water" backgrounds with my Darice - Leafy Tree embossing folder and watercolored the trunk and leafy branches with Distress Inks.  Then I stamped and colored my kitties.  I have a tiny leaf punch in a style similar to the embossing folder.  I glued some of them on the tree branches and also some in a pile for the kitties to play in.  Some gold glitter glue on a few of the leaves finished it off.

Skippyjon

Of course, I had to color the pouncing kitty in a Siamese pattern because our newest little addition, Skippyjon, is a Siamese cross.  You just know that he'd be the one leaping up in the air and landing on the other kitty hunkered down in the leaves!  He has brought a lot of joy to us since we lost Aliyah.

Second sponsor for today is a new sponsor to the Cat Lovers Hop:   Taylored Expressions!!!

Sack It - Kitty Taylor is sending one of her Sack-It Kitty die sets to a lucky winner!   How cute is this????  And it can be used alone or with a coordinating Sack It To You die.

I don't personally have this set, so Taylor sent me a couple shots of a card one of her designers made with the set used as a stand alone.

Adorable, aren't they?  You can find out more details HERE. Thank you, Taylor and Jen Shultz!!

Crafty Saver

Our third sponsor for today is also a new sponsor to the Cat Lovers Hop.  Please welcome Crafty Saver!!!  Crafty Saver is a wonderful website that offers spectacular prices on all kinds of craft items...all the time!  Yay!

The folks at Crafty Saver are generously sending this fabulous Ken Oliver - Colorful Cat Stencil to one lucky winner!!

DAILY GAME TIME!!!!!
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
MY SHOP The Daily Game is generously sponsored each day by Ike's Art!!!!
Ike is technically a "new" sponsor to the Cat Lovers Hop, but I feel like she has been a partner with me from the beginning because of the way she jumped right in with numerous cards and projects and offered prizes on her blog during the very first Cat Lovers Hop.
Ike was a wonderful inspiration for us all when she decided to continue the fun by launching her monthly Show Us Your Pussies - Cats Only Challenge Blog after the hop.    I hope each of you will make a Meowloween card this week to enter into her challenge!!  She also has Freebies!!  :)
Ike has drawn up some fabulous new Christmas kitty digital images to give out as prizes during the Cat Lovers Hop.  I will be giving one to a lucky random winner during each Daily Game all week long.
Please take time to visit Ike at these social media spotsBlog, Challenge Blog, Cat Lovers Challenge Blog, Facebook, and Shop.  Don't forget to Like, Follow, Share, and Comment with a big "THANK YOU for sponsoring the 2016 Cat Lovers Hop at Her Peaceful Garden!"
Here's today's digital image by Ike's Art that you have a chance to win by playing in the Daily Game.
Here's the card I made with this super-fun image:
Sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp - Big Holiday Wishes (discontinued)
Spectrum Noir markers for coloring most of the digi.
Gel pens for ornament
Wink of Stella for shimmer in the eyes.
Scraps from scrap bags for mats and background
Okay.........how do you enter to win this digi??????  Easy!
Snap a photo of your craft room cat stash and link it up below!  That means.......all your cat stamps, cat papers, etc.  I know, I know....they won't all fit in one photo, will they??  lol...  Mine, either!  So....
I took a picture of just my cat stamps.  That counts.  Here it is.  What a mess!  (Usually these are all lying flat in this plastic snap case.)
Now if you want to play just for fun for some reason...maybe you don't do digis or even have a way to print digis or something....just put a JFF in front of your name on the link-up.  That way we can still admire your overflowing stash but this fabulous image will go to someone who can use it.
This is a Daily Game so the link-up will close at 11:55 pm Pacific today..Monday, Oct. 24, 2016.  I will draw a random winner and post it with all the other winners at the beginning of next week when the hop is over.
Remember the link up below is ONLY FOR PICTURES OF YOUR CRAFT ROOM CAT STASH!!!!  All your hop projects get linked up over on the main Cat Lovers Hop post.
Okay....I think I covered everything.  Whew!!!  Thanks for reading all the way through here!!  Happy Cat Hopping!
  2. Janis, you know that I already ooohed and ahhhhed over your absolutely gorgeous fall kitty cat already, but it looks even more wonderful up close! I couldn't figure out how you made that tree, but now that I know you used an embossing folder and watercolored the details, I'm even more impressed. The rascally little kitties are having way too much fun!
  3. Goodness Janis you certainly have lots of cat stash. I love both of your kitty cards. The first is a really gorgeous autumn card and the cute cats look as if they're having lots of fun playing in the leaves. I really like the scene you've made with the stamps and punched leaves.
    I love the Christmas card with the little cat peeking from underneath the tree branch. A lovely card that my friend would adore. Barbxx
  17. Hmmm, do I dare try to corral my cat crafty supplies and take a photo? I already feel like such a hoarder that it might be too much to come face to face with reality!! My cat stamps and craft goodies are scattered throughout the house so I'll try to scrape a few together at the very least. After all, I'm in very good company!
  21. Love your adorable cards and how you colored the one kitty Siamese-style to look like Skippyjon! How fun! Love the autumn tree!
    Cute die set and kitty stencil, and I love your holiday card with the Ike's Art image! Reminds me of my Coco, except she'd be climbing the tree! We bought a new tree after the holidays last year because she had broken the lower limb of our previous pre-lit tree by climbing on it!
    WoWza - what a glorious bunch of kitty stamps you have !!
