Hi, Friends....

I am here with a fun card I made for the big Winnie & Walter - 3rd Birthday Bash celebration over on their blog!!! Not only do they have a GIGANTIC giveaway, but they have 10 different challenges that you can play along with.....including a chance at a big Guest Star slot, if you participate with at least 4 different cards starring their products!! (See their blog post for details on that.) Winnie & Walter challenges are among my favorites anywhere in the papercrafting blogosphere. There are only a few more days left, so I hope you will join me soon in wishing Shay and everyone at W&W a Happy 3rd Birthday and play along with the challenges!!!

I had so much fun making this Zany Bird and pairing it with the slightly confused little Yellow Bird...each from the Winnie & Walter - LS Exclusives: So Tweet with Evelin T Designs stamp set and cut out with the corresponding dies. I colored both birds with my Spectrum Noirs and embellished Zany Bird's glasses with a Sakura white gel pen.

I was super-brave and actually cut apart the small typewriter font "Many Thanks" sentiment from the Winnie & Walter - Big Hugs with Evelin T Designs stamp set. The line was pretty small and the words were quite close together, but a small craft knife got in between the tiny words and now I can (in theory, at least!) use them singly, in two rows, or line them back up together. :) I stamped a pattern of just the Thanks sentiment over and over in lines with Versafine ink in Black Onyx.
(That's why I cut the stamp apart. I couldn't bear the thought of having to carefully ink just the one word and having the blank word smearing the previously stamped places!! As it is, I didn't do a perfect job of stamping, but that just adds to the craziness!!)

The larger "Many Thanks" sentiment and the speech balloons are from Winnie & Walter - Sketchy Thoughts stamp set. Zany Bird's speech balloon is not stamped, but ink blended with Distress inks in Picked Raspberry, Twisted Citron and Tumbled Glass and then cut with the Winnie & Walter - Sketchy Thoughts die set. I drew in the question marks for Yellow Bird with the brush marker from my set of Pigma Micron Black Pens. (Making two side-by-side question marks that looked even remotely the same size and shape took me waaaaaaaay too many tries!! lol...)

Do you like the swirly pattern in the frames that I used? Those are from a Winnie & Walter Digital Freebie that they offered 2 years ago for their 1st BD. That might have been the first or maybe second W&W challenge I ever entered and I have become more and more of an enthusiast ever since!! (Find freebie here: 1st Birthday Bash Digital Elements Collection.) These frames fit perfectly inside my My Favorite Things Die-namics - Stitched Square STAX die set. I adorned Zany Bird's frame with blingy sequins. Yellow Bird's Frame contains a comforting cover of leafy plants from the same So Tweet set stamped in Distress Inks - Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint, and Crushed Olive.

Hope you like my crazy card! Thanks, thanks, thanks, and Many Thanks for your lovely comments. You make me heart smile. :)

  10. Oh my gosh, this card is just hilarious! I love the fun word balloons, especially the rainbow colored one...so unique and imaginative. These birds are wild and crazy in the best way! I see that you've perfected the die-cutting of stamped images, which is something I'm still working on...and your coloring is beautiful. You've really made the most of these cute W&W stamps and dies...and rocked the challenges.
