Graphic 45 Wedding Card

Hi, Friends......

I am here with a wedding card I made recently. I've been on a Graphic 45 kick this month, so the lovely vintage designs seemed perfect for this occasion. I used bits and pieces from two G45 collections: A Place in Time and Secret Garden. Love how their papers coordinate so well!! I used doilies and Prima flowers to brighten up the muted colors.

You can get a glimpse of the envelope I made behind the card.  I used a piece of K&Co. patterned paper in coordinating colors with the design turned to the inside and the white on the outside.  I love those huge stacks of light-weight K&Co. papers for making envelopes!!!
Here's the inside of the card with another doily and a pretty border punched with my Martha Stewart Edger Punch - Doily Lace. I used Distress Ink-Walnut Stain on the edges of the elements and stamped my ages old go-to congratulations stamp with Versafine-Smokey Gray ink, heat embossing it with clear powder.

I hope you are inspired to get out your Graphic 45 supplies (I know you are hoarding them!!) and create something pretty for someone special. Thank you for stopping by!!! Your visits make my day.

Glittery Snowflake Christmas Card - Rudolph Days

Hi, Friends....

I am here with a card I made for a different Christmas challenge recently, but never got it blogged! (Do you sense a pattern with all this flurry of end-of-month blog posts??? lol...) So here it is time for Scrappy Mo's Rudolph Days again and finally here is my card! Yay!!!

I used these fabulous glittery red and gold 7 POINTED snowflakes from my crafty pal, Karen Ladd. (THANKS, Karen!.....But what is with all these snowflakes having 7 points??? These and my own 7-point white ones that I still haven't used up!!!) I put the snowflakes through my Xyron Sticker Maker to make them adhere easily without gluing. (Do I get points for actually USING my Sticker Maker, instead of letting the adhesive dry up, thus rendering the entire little gadget useless??? Award them in the comments below....and please be generous! lol...)

I did a wintery white-on-white look with the dry embossed panel (Darice - Snowflakes folder) over a white card base. The sentiment stamp is a pretty one with that flourish, but I don't know what company it is from. I stamped with Versafine ink in Smokey Gray and matted the panel with a bit of red cardstock from my scrap bag.  I think this makes a simple, but quite pretty Christmas card. I might make a few more of these with the other snowflakes in the pack!

Personally, I'm glad that the snowflakes are only on this card and not coming down outside.  We had so much snow for so long this past winter that I honestly STILL find myself habitually looking out at night on the ground to see if there is any snow.  It hasn't been very many weeks since we had several inches, so I am not completely insane!!  (Emphasis on completely....Ha!)  Thank you for your visit and sweet comments.

G45 Safari Adventure #4- Parrot Portrait Card

There's not a single one of my 15 or so cats I would trust with a small bird!  However, Caspian one time managed to climb into the baby chicky house by scaling the wall and squeezing between the rafters and the roof.  When I checked on the babies in the morning, there he was napping in the shed with all the chickies safe.  I have zero explanation for why he didn't bother them.  Too lazy?  Too well-fed?  Don't know.  I sure am glad, though!  (So is he!)

Hi, Friends....

I am attempting to post a few cards I made this month but didn't have the energy to blog earlier! I made a series of Graphic 45 Safari Adventure cards for the Unstampabelle's June challenge but they only want 3 posted at one time so this #4 is a spare. They asked for a masculine card with the twist of Add an Animal....and, as always, for their challenges with No Stamping. If you want to participate, you better hurry because their challenge ends tomorrow!!

For this card I used one of the G45 cut-apart papers and a border sticker.  I had a lot of black cardstock scraps, so it was easy to mat each of the elements.  So much fun making these cards. Hope you have had fun seeing them!! Thank you so much for your comments and visits...even when I binge-blog like this.

G45 Safari Adventure #1 - Glossy Parrot Card

Hi, Friends......

I am attempting to post a few cards I made this month but didn't have the energy to blog! I made a series of Graphic 45 Safari Adventure cards for Unstampabelle's June challenge. They asked for a masculine card with the twist of Add an Animal....and, as always, for their challenges with No Stamping. It ends tomorrow so I thought I'd better get these posted!!! Yikes!!!

Are you like I am and tend to hoard those amazing Graphic 45 products???? Well, I have been doing a lot better about using the papers and journaling cards, but I get stymied when I try to add the other little doo-dads like the chippies and stickers. I decided for this series of cards, I would use some of those embellishments whether I knew the right way to do it or not!!   lol....

So with this card, I chose two of the small ephemera cards (I think these are designed for pocket scrapping, but I like them for fast card fronts!) and one of the chippies. I inked around the edges of the elements, tied a stray scrap of twine on the chippie, and added Glossy Accents to make the parrot really stand out. I LOVE MY G45!!!
Supplies used include:
Graphic 45 Safari Adventure Collection: Solids and Prints Cardstock, Ephemera Cards, Chipboard Diecuts
Distress Ink in Black Soot and Walnut Stain
Glossy Accents
Core'dinations Black Cardstock

Thank you for taking a look. I will be back with the others in this series a little bit later!

Summer Coffee Lovers Hop with Winnie & Walter

We lost our sweet Andale this last week.  She was our round little pumpkin kitty who showed up pregnant and hunting mice in our chicken house years ago.  She soon learned the advantages of buddying up with our Growl-Dog for protection and warmth, snuggling with her in the cozy Dogloo on cold nights.  Being a cat, sometimes she irascibly guarded the entrance of "her" dog house and wouldn't let Growler get inside....enforcing the squatter's right of possession with her claws.  We'd hear poor Growler whining for us to come out and safely remedy the situation!

We don't know exactly how old Andale was, but we estimate around 13 years.  She was a pretty little muffin cat with all those lovely swirls of tortoiseshell colors....one of our favorites.  The above photo was a typical pose for her:  dozing amidst the dried grass and rocks near our driveway.  <3 <3 <3  We miss you, sweet Andale.

Hi, Friends....

I have been totally missing in action on my blog here.  I haven't had the energy to make very many cards and the ones I have made I haven't had the energy to blog!!  Ackkk!!

My life and schedule has been totally crazy.  I thought summer was supposed to be relaxed!!!  In addition to all my regular activities and responsibilities, the month of June is always super-busy for me because we have VBS once a week.  I am one of the co-teachers for the Bible lesson and so getting the room set up for the week's story and prepping is a challenge for this old grandma!  I LOVE teaching the kiddos, but it will be a relief to have it all finished this week and done for the summer.  :)

Yay!!  I managed to make a brightly colored coffee card to put in the Summer Coffee Lovers Hop.  I did not get it linked up in time for tonight's Flash Prize drawing because of some craziness between my camera and computer (not to mention operator error!!  lol...).  There are millions of other prizes, though, so I am not completely missing out.  Hope you are playing along, too!!!

Supplies used include:

Washi from my stash
Scraps of DCWV paper
The VERY LAST of a roll of hot pink ribbon I've had since my nearly-30 yr old daughter was a little girl!!!!  (You may save your applause for the comment section.  :) )
Hope you like my wildly bright card.  I am hoping to have the energy to blog a few of my other cards this month.  We'll see.....  Thank you so much for stopping by.
