G45 Safari Adventure #4- Parrot Portrait Card

There's not a single one of my 15 or so cats I would trust with a small bird!  However, Caspian one time managed to climb into the baby chicky house by scaling the wall and squeezing between the rafters and the roof.  When I checked on the babies in the morning, there he was napping in the shed with all the chickies safe.  I have zero explanation for why he didn't bother them.  Too lazy?  Too well-fed?  Don't know.  I sure am glad, though!  (So is he!)

Hi, Friends....

I am attempting to post a few cards I made this month but didn't have the energy to blog earlier! I made a series of Graphic 45 Safari Adventure cards for the Unstampabelle's June challenge but they only want 3 posted at one time so this #4 is a spare. They asked for a masculine card with the twist of Add an Animal....and, as always, for their challenges with No Stamping. If you want to participate, you better hurry because their challenge ends tomorrow!!

For this card I used one of the G45 cut-apart papers and a border sticker.  I had a lot of black cardstock scraps, so it was easy to mat each of the elements.  So much fun making these cards. Hope you have had fun seeing them!! Thank you so much for your comments and visits...even when I binge-blog like this.

  1. Gorgeous card Janis! Super image and lovely rich colours too.

I giggled at the cat and bugle photo. Many years ago, one of our bichon was dozing underneath a glass topped coffee table. Our very tame budgie flew onto the table and gazed down at said dog. Dog decided to raise head and investigate, and promptly bashed his head on the underside of the glass. Never tried it again, am sure he thought the budgie had clouted him on the head!

I am glad your kitty didn't eat the birds. Perhaps you are right that he was well fed so didn't bother with them :-D xxxx

  8. Wow!! This card is so striking! I love the black matting, which really shows off those beautiful images and designs to perfection. The tropical parrot is an idea focal point and now I'm feeling like I need to get some of this collection! So impressed that you're using the Graphic 45 papers and rockin' it!

  9. Your story about Caspian sneaking into the chicken house but not harming any of the chicks reminds me of our first cat, Tina, who knocked off the mesh screen to our cage full of mice, and just sat there for over an hour, watching them run around...but never even tried to catch one. What a sight to find when we woke up that morning! I'm sure the mice didn't appreciate it..but no a one was injured!
