Kindness with Brusho Background - Winnie & Walter

Hi, Friends.......

I am back again with another cactus card I made for the Winnie & Walter Color Combo Challenge for July. Take a look at the fabulous inspiration photo and color palette that Heather H. chose for this month....YUM!!

I have been having the best time playing with my Winnie & Walter - Kindness with Evelin T Designs stamp set for the current W&W Rerun Challenge. As I mentioned in a previous post, I made a huge crafty mess with Brushos and Dylusions sprays for backgrounds and die cuts. Here's one I did using my favorite stamps in the set: the cactuses. <3 <3 <3 I matted it in black to accentuate the bold colors in the background.

Supplies used include:
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Katharine Cutaways die set
Winnie & Walter - Kindness wth Evelin T Designs stamp set
Versafine Ink - Black Onyx
Dylusions Ink Spray
Brusho
Distress Ink - Walnut Stain for shadows
Pretty Pink Posh - Sparkling Clear Mix sequins

Hope you have enjoyed my cards for the W&W Rerun Challenge. It has been so much fun using my new stamp set. I know I am going to be reaching for it again and again!!

Thank you for all your kind comments. Your words of encouragement have been especially welcome lately!!!

Kindness with Patterned Paper and Cactuses - Winnie & Walter

Hi, Friends.......

I am back again with another card I made for the Winnie & Walter Color Combo Challenge for July. Take a look at the fabulous inspiration photo and color palette that Heather H. chose for this month....YUM!!

Can you tell I have been having a good time with the Winnie & Walter - Kindness with Evelin T Designs stamp set......which is this month's rerun set for the W&W Rerun Challenge??? I absolutely fell in love with this set when I saw it featured for the Rerun Challenge. Then when I noticed that it included cactuses, I was hopelessly smitten. I rarely see a set that I HAVE to get right then...(no waiting around...right NOW!).....but this one of them. (It helped that I had a W&W GC....YAY!! Thank you, W&W!!!)

Sorry again for the poor photo quality.  I am still having to take pics with my phone and it's not going well!!  EEK!!
For this card, I selected some cactuses I had stamped onto my Brusho/Dylusions papers and fussy cut out. I paired them with some patterned papers in the aquas of the color palette. I'm not sure if the print of the background reminds me of suns or Nazca lines! lol.... Anyway, it seemed desert-y. :) Adding the extra background layer as a mat was an easy way to ground my cactuses without drawing in a shadow.
Supplies used include:
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Audrey Cutaways die set
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Katharine Cutaways die set
Winnie & Walter - Kindness wth Evelin T Designs stamp set
Versafine Ink - Black Onyx
Dylusions Ink Spray
Brusho
DCWV and K&Co. scraps from my stash

Thank you for all your kind comments!! You are champs for wading through all of these!!

Kindness with Sparkly Tree - Winnie & Walter

Hi, Friends.......

I am back again with a sparkly card I made for the Winnie & Walter Color Combo Challenge for July. Take a look at the fabulous inspiration photo and color palette that Heather H. chose for this month....YUM!!

I used my new Winnie & Walter - Kindness with Evelin T Designs stamp set which is the featured set for the current W&W Rerun Challenge, too! I just love these sentiments for making Thank You cards!!!

This time I stamped and cut out a tree from a scrap of patterned paper. My plan was to accent a few places here and there with my Wink of Stella pen, but I inadvertently squeezed a big glob of glittery goodness out onto my card in the wrong place. EEEEK!!! So I made a sparkly "shadow" and covered the entire tree with WOS. Now it has non-stop shine!! You can hardly tell in the photo that the tree was cut from patterned paper, but I kind of like it this way!! :)

Supplies used include:
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Audrey Cutaways die set
Winnie & Walter - Kindness with Evelin T Designs stamp set
Versafine Ink - Black Onyx
Wink of Stella pen
DCWV scraps from my stash

Hope you liked my sparkly card! Thank you for stopping by. I still have a few more cards to share, so I will see you soon!!

I used my new Winnie & Walter - Kindness with Evelin T Designs stamp set which is the featured set for the current W&W Rerun Challenge, too! The tree is stamped and cut out from a piece of my Brusho/Dylusions papers. :) I even sneaked a few Nuvo drops onto my creation!

Brusho and Dylusions Background - Winnie & Walter

Hi, Friends.......

I am back again with a super-fun card I made for the Winnie & Walter Color Combo Challenge for July. Take a look at the fabulous inspiration photo and color palette that Heather H. chose for this month....YUM!!

Oh, my.....did I ever have fun this week playing with my Brushos and Dylusions sprays!!! Yah!!! I got out a couple of sheets each of mixed media paper and watercolor paper and started sprinkling, spraying and misting. What a mess......but a fun mess!! :)

I used my colorfully dyed papers for backgrounds and for trees stamped with my new Winnie & Walter - Kindness with Evelin T Designs stamp set......which I totally LOVE so much!!! This happens to be the Rerun set this month for the W&W Rerun Challenge...and I had to get it! :) It has trees and cactuses and lots of heartfelt sentiments that you can build around the large Kindness stamp. So perfect for expressing gratitude for the kindnesses of others.

On this card, I stamped the sentiment with Versafine ink in Onyx Black using my mini-MISTI to make sure I had good coverage. I stamped and cut out the round tree from another sheet of dyed paper and attached it to my background. (I was surprised to see that an ink blotch on the upper part of the tree matched almost perfectly with a corresponding blotch on my background. I couldn't have managed to line those up better if I had designed it that way! Ha.) I flicked some Black Soot Distress Ink around for an arty look. :)
Supplies used include:
Winnie & Walter - Kindness with Evelin T Designs stamp set
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Katharine Cutaways die set
Canson 140 lb XL Watercolor Pad Canson Mixed Media Paper Pad
Dylusions Ink Spray
Brusho
Versafine Ink - Black Onyx
Hope you enjoyed my card. I have to admit that I felt like this was a little bit of a "cheater" card because I didn't use up even a single scrap while making it! :) I do love playing with the paints and sprays, though.....so much fun!!

Thank you for stopping by and leaving your sweet comments!!! I have more cards for these challenges so I hope to see you often in the next few days!

Here for You - Winnie & Walter Color Combo

Hi, Friends.....

Whew!!! In the midst of this wild and crazy, sometimes nerve-wracking, adventure that is life in the Woolbright home, I finally am back with another card I made for the Winnie & Walter Color Combo Challenge for July. Take a look at the fabulous inspiration photo and color palette that Heather H. chose for this month....YUM!!!:

This is a bonus card. Unbeknownst to me, all the time I took to die-cut foliage from a shimmery green scrap for THIS CARD, I actually was making a lovely panel that could be used on an entirely different card. Yay!! I replaced a few of the negative scraps inside the holes and absolutely love the serene look for a sympathy/thinking of you card for a dear widow who had a delayed memorial service for her husband, who had passed away this winter. (Nobody wants out-of-towners to have to travel to the mountains of N.Central Idaho in the snow!)
I am having MAJOR problems with my camera....so I apologize for the graininess of my photo.  Please bear with me.
Supplies used include:
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Katharine Cutaways die set
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Audrey Cutaways die set
Winnie & Walter - In Bloom: Maggie's Roses Cutaways die set (leaves)
Winnie & Walter - Big Hugs with Evelin T Designs stamp set
Versafine Ink - Onyx Black
Clear Embossing Powder
Darice - Interlocking Circles
Distress Ink - Peacock Feathers
Scraps from my stash

Hope you enjoyed seeing my bonus card! I have several more Winnie & Walter cards to post, so I will see you soon!!!

Maritime Card - Graphic 45

READ some fascinating tales/tails of able sea cats HERE.
Ahoy there, Shipmate Friends (sounds the bosun's whistle)......

I am playing catch up again! Here's a card that I made for my Dad last month for Father's Day. I got it mailed off with his gift in plenty of time, but I never got it blogged because of all my other June activities. I really love how it turned out, though, so wanted to share it with you.

I have a lone 8" pad of this discontinued and VERY hard to find "By the Sea" Graphic 45 collection. Needless to say, I hoard it like crazy!! But since my Dad is an old retired Navy man, I pulled out some of the wonderful anchor paper and chose a panel from one of the cut-apart pages. Instant card. Love, love, love!!! It didn't matter that I don't have any of the extras from this collection like the awesome card stock stickers, die-cuts, pockets & tags, or chippies. Some red twine was all the embellishment it needed. Yay!!!

Hope you enjoyed my card. Hey, it's Graphic 45....how can you NOT love it, right? :) Thank you for your wonderful comments.

Oh, and I want all my Cat Lovers Hop friends to know that I am already planning this year's hop!! Yay!! I hope to have one of my son's black cats as the 2017 badge kitty....perfect for October, right? :) I just need him to get a good shot of her. Black cats are so hard to photograph well.

So..............mark your calendars for the 2017 Cat Lovers Hop......Oct. 23-28, 2017......right here at Her Peaceful Garden. Purr...purr...purr...

Wish You Were Here - Winnie & Walter and Graphic 45

Hi, Friends.....

I am back with another card I made for the Winnie & Walter Color Combo Challenge for July.  Take a look at the fabulous inspiration photo and color palette that Heather H. chose for this month....YUM!!!:

I had my Graphic 45 - Bohemian Bazaar collection out and noticed some papers with these colors. They are a bit deeper in hue than the inspiration palette, but I hope they are acceptable. :)

I dressed the card up with some layered Prima flowers and even used a couple of buttons for centers. Love the happy, playful look. The center of the checkered flower is a lovely jeweled brad from a pretty set that my crafty pal Karen Ladd sent me. THANKS, Karen!!!
Supplies used include:
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Audrey Cutaways die set
Winnie & Walter - In Bloom: Maggie's Roses Cutaways die set (leaves)
Graphic 45 - Bohemian Bazaar collection
Prima Flowers
Want 2 Scrap - Adhesive Pearls

I really love how this no-stamping card turned out. Graphic 45 papers have such rich images and colors that I never miss the stamping, esp if I use one of their cut-aparts for the sentiment.

Thank you for your visit and your lovely comments. They make my day!!

Sending You Love - Winnie & Walter

Hi, Friends.....

Things have been crazy around here, so the few cards I have managed to make still haven't been blogged yet.  Eek!!  I got super-inspired by the Winnie & Walter Color Combo Challenge for July. You might already know that color challenges are my favorite kind of challenge and W&W has one each month. Yay!! So much fun.

Take a look at the fabulous inspiration photo and color palette that
Heather H. chose for this month....YUM!!!:

My Dad's 94th birthday was last week so I used these colors for his card that I sent him along with some home-baked cookies.....which he loved. (He didn't mention the card....lol....)

I do lots of layering of backgrounds on my cards and find that the "middles" of the panels are often covered up and "wasted".  The tag on this card is cut from one of these hidden lower layers.

Aren't the little birdies in the W&W So Tweet set the most adorable things? I couldn't resist placing a sweet envelope in this one's beak. Now the little guy is ready to wing his way over to my Dad with my love.

Supplies used include:
Winnie & Walter - LS Exclusives: So Tweet with Evelin T Designs stamp set
Winnie & Walter - LS Exclusives: So Tweet with Evelin T Designs die set
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Katharine Cutaways die set
DCWV burlap, cardstock, and scraps
Distress Inks for coloring
Baker's Twine from a recent W&W package <3

Thank you for stopping by today. I know I am rather hit and miss on my blog posting in the last couple months. I am so glad for the W&W challenges that give me a great excuse to play in my craft room even when so many other crazy things are happening in my life!! I hope you will join in the fun and play along, too!

Happy Little Princess - W&W Color Combo Challenge

Hi, Friends......

I am here with a sweet and whimsical card I made for the Winnie

W&W Color Combo Inspiration
&Walter June Color Combo Challenge. You can see the bright and happy inspiration colors in this photo. >>>>>>

I have a ton (prob literally!!!) of patterned paper and lots of scraps.....an unending supply in every imaginable color combo. The real challenge is deciding which scraps to use!! :)

For this card, I pulled out an ancient piece of MAMBI patterned paper with this adorable little girl dancing around on it. I think the W&W Happy die cut is absolutely perfect for this sweet scene. It's hard to detect in the photo, but I added sparkle to the dress, flowers, and clouds with my Wink of Stella pen.

Supplies used include:
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Audrey Cutaways die set
Winnie & Walter - In a Word: Happy Cutaway die
Pretty Pink Posh - Sparkling Clear Mix sequins
Wink of Stella - Clear pen

Do you think my little 6 yr-old granddaughter will like this card? I do. <3 <3 <3 I don't think I can wait for her September birthday, I might have to give this one to her right away....just because. :)

Geometric Happy BD - W&W Color Combo Challenge

"...to rule them all" is RIGHT!  Mine sure do.  :)
Hi, Friends......

I am here with another of the cards I made for the Winnie
W&W Color Combo Inspiration
&Walter June Color Combo Challenge. You can see the bright and happy inspiration colors in this photo. >>>>>>

W&W is one of my favorite stamp companies, so I'm very happy to see lots of entries this month. There are still a couple of days left, so join in if you haven't yet!!

I have a ton (prob literally!!!) of patterned paper and lots of scraps.....an unending supply in every imaginable color combo. The real challenge is deciding which scraps to use!! :)

For this card I used one of the fabulous digital freebies on the W&W blog for that amazing geometric background. I printed this out a long time ago and am thrilled to use it finally. (Don't neglect looking at what they have in their W&W Freebies section. There are some really fun ones!!) I colored this one with my Spectrum Noir markers in the bright colors of the inspiration piece. I layered my new scripty birthday die cut (2 layers of white with 1 layer of black slightly off-set) over the background. This is kind of trippy for the eyeballs, but I think it makes a fun card.

Supplies Used Include:
The Gossip Column: Geometric Generation Digital Elements
Spectrum Noir markers
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Audrey Cutaways die set
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Katharine Cutaways die set
Winnie & Walter - The Big, the Bold and Party Cutaways die set

Faith Scripture with a Little Bird - W&W Color Combo Challenge

Hi, Friends......

I am here with the first of several cards I made for the Winnie
W&W Color Combo Inspiration
&Walter June Color Combo Challenge. You can see the bright and happy inspiration colors in this photo. >>>>>>

W&W is one of my favorite stamp companies, so I'm very happy to see lots of entries this month. There are still 2 or 3 days left, so join in if you haven't yet!!

I have a ton (prob literally!!!) of patterned paper and lots of scraps.....an unending supply in every imaginable color combo. The real challenge is deciding which scraps to use!! :)

For this card, I used a background I had made ages ago by inking and misting an embossing folder and then closing it snugly over a piece of white cardstock. It acts as a stamp that way, leaving the surface smooth instead of embossed. I also went a little crazy with Nuvo drops. (I guess I don't know when to stop! lol... At least these came out in rounds, instead of like yellow chocolate chips! :)  )

Supplies used include:
Verve - Scripture Medley 2 stamp set
Versafine Ink - Deep Lagoon, Smokey Gray
Winnie & Walter - LS Exclusives: So Tweet with Evelin T Designs die set
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Audrey Cutaways die set
Winnie & Walter - LS Exclusives: So Tweet with Evelin T Designs stamp set

Ribbon from stash

Roses Just for You - W&W Color Combo Challenge

Need one of these!!  :)

Hi, Friends......

W&W Color Combo Inspiration
I am here with the first of several cards I made for the Winnie &Walter June Color Combo Challenge.  You can see the bright and happy inspiration colors in this photo.  >>>>>>
W&W is one of my favorite stamp companies, so I'm very happy to see lots of entries this month.  There are still a few days left, so join in if you haven't yet!!

I always enjoy seeing what I can find in my UFO (unfinished objects) and scrap stash that will fit with color challenges, so that is exactly what I did for this series of cards.  I have a ton (prob literally!!!) of patterned paper and lots of scraps.....an unending supply in every imaginable color combo.  The real challenge is deciding which scraps to use!!  :)

Some of the pieces didn't completely cut through on one of my roses....because of the very old cutting pads on my Big Shot. Instead of struggling to remove them, I left those parts in place for an "arty" look. Ha! To make it look all planned this way, I left some pieces in the other rose, too. The style of the right hand rose always looks a bit bare to me in the middle, so I glued in a random scrap for a center.
Supplies used include:
Winnie & Walter - In Bloom: Maggie's Roses Cutaways die set
Winnie & Walter - Sketchy Thoughts stamp set
Versafine - Onyx Black ink
DCWV paper for background
Doily and scraps from my stash
I have several more cards for this challenge, so I will see you soon!!!
