Hi, Friends.....

I am back with a masculine card to share. I got super-inspired by the wonderful Winnie & Walter September Color Combo Challenge:

I also am linking this up to Darnell's NBUS #12 Challenge where she asks us to use some Never Before Used Schtuff that we have in our stash.

I pulled out my long-hoarded NBUS Tim Holtz Idea-ology Ephemera Pack - Expedition and started putting together a collage card. Fun!

Hey, you guys...I even used a STENCIL!!! Yay!!

I like the funky look of mixing modern sentiment fonts with the vintage ephemera.  These proper gentlemen with the speech balloon containing an informal light-hearted font makes me chuckle and apparently cracks them up, too!  More on that in a moment.  :)

I had (what I thought was) a great idea.....(Oh, no! Janis is getting experimental again!!!)...I can make the photos of the men stand out and look time-worn by coating the piece with Crackle Accents. Well, in retrospect, I prob should have just used Glossy Accents or nothing at all. I love the crackly appearance, but it is unpredictable and this piece was pretty thin so it didn't work all that great. It is okay and I obviously still used it, but I am not just loving it. If you want to see a project I made where the Crackly Accents turned out perfect, click HERE (if you dare...)!

Supplies used include:
Winnie & Walter - Scenery: Multi-Faceted Creative Screenings
Distress Ink - Walnut Stain
Winnie & Walter - Sketchy Thoughts stamp set
Winnie & Walter - Sketchy Thoughts die set
Versafine Ink - Onyx Black
Tim Holtz Idea-ology Ephemera Pack - Expedition
Inkssentials - Crackle Accents (was Ranger brand)
Twine from my stash

Hope you enjoyed my collaged ephemera card. Thank you always for your visits and comments. You make my day!!!

  2. Well, whatever you do, don't ever use Crackle Accents on a photo of yourself unless you want to age 20 years! (or crack yourself up in a really literal sense). Now a nice coat of glossy accents would probably result in a healthy glow..or shine...so I say yes to that! Okay, enough babbling for tonight and onto your card. Good for you, digging into that fun vintage ephemera pack!! The sepia and cream tones look wonderful with the red plane and lettering and are a great take on the W&W color combo! I always love seeing a masculine card and this one is spot on!
