DAY 6 - 2017 Cat Lovers Hop

https://herpeacefulgarden.blogspot.com/2017/10/the-2017-cat-lovers-hop-and-link-up-is.html

Welcome to Day 6 of the
2017 CAT LOVERS HOP!!!
This the LAST day to link up projects.
Tomorrow, Oct. 29, will be deadline for comments.

 If you have a project to linkup, please go to the Main Hop Page
Also, please check out my
2017 Cat Lovers Hop Guidelines and FAQs

Hi, Friends.....

I can't believe it is Day 6 already....the LAST day to link up projects!!!  What a fabulous hop it has been....most especially because YOU have been a part of it!!  I love seeing your projects...and I WILL get around to visit each one of you, but it might take me a few days still.  :)  I love reading your posts and your comments on our Daily Games!

NOTE: I will have a special post tomorrow for National Cat Day, October 29. I'd love for you to participate in that, too.  So be planning your own National Cat Day posts to link up for us to visit!  More details at the bottom of this post!!

Remember that even though today is the last day to link up projects, you get an extra day to hop around and comment before the gates close on that!!!  Yay!

I still have a few things on this last day for you to see and do and win!  Our remaining sponsors will be in the spotlight, where I will feature the prizes they are offering and cards made with those products. My thanks to the sponsors who kindly provided photos for me to use. It took a lot of pressure off of me!!  (Hey...I am ALL about that, right? :) )

Just a reminder.....ALL PROJECTS LINK UP ON THE MAIN HOP PAGE and I have my 2017 Cat Lovers Hop Guidelines and FAQs  in a handy tab just under my header at the top of each page.

Okay on to the Day 6 festivities........

My Sponsors in the Spotlight today are:  Taylored Expressions, Sunny Studio Stamps, Sugar Pea Designs and, as always, for our Daily Game, Ike's Art.

Taylored Expressions

Taylored Expressions is one of our returning sponsors with a very special stamp set they are offering as a prize.

We haven't ever had a Pet Sympathy stamp set on the prize list before, so I asked Taylor if she would sponsor and offer her Taylored Expressions - Care & Comfort - Pets stamp set as a prize. She kindly agreed.

We never like to have to make this kind of card, but I think you will agree that the sentiments in this set are particularly heartfelt and sensitive...perfect for those very sad occasions when words fail us.

Here is a thoughtful and lovely DT pet sympathy card made with this set.

Please take time to visit Taylored Expressions at these social media spots: Blog, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube. Don't forget to Like, Follow, Share, and Comment with a big "THANK YOU for sponsoring the 2017 Cat Lovers Hop at Her Peaceful Garden!"

Here is a super-adorable DT card made with Sunny Studio products.  You can find out all the deets on making this HERE.

DAILY GAME TIME!!!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Daily Game is generously sponsored each day by Ike's Art!!!
Please take time to visit Ike at these social media spots: Blog, Store, and Facebook Group. Don't forget to Lie, Swallow, Snare, and Vomit (Ike is the only sponsor I would do this with...I'm just seeing if you ever read this paragraph!  Ha.) with a big "THANK YOU for sponsoring the 2017 Cat Lovers Hop at Her Peaceful Garden!"
REMEMBER:  Ike's Show us Your Pussies - Cats Only Challenge theme this month is Furrything Goes + Optional Theme: MEOW-loween.  So if you make a Halloween-themed or ANY kitty creation for the Cat Hop, you can also link it up over there!!  Yay!!
A lucky participant in Today's Game will win one of the images from this newly designed digital prize from Ike's Art.  So much kitty fab-ness!!
Here's the final image from Ike's wonderful set.  This one is called "Hello There".  I decided to color it in my favorite coat pattern/color for kitties....a brown mackerel-stripe tabby.
(I'm still a novice colorist, so please bear with my limited skills. Don't judge me!!! Ha.)
You might win this awesome digital image if you participate in today's Daily Game!!!
Day 6 Game: What is your favorite thing about our Cat Lovers Hop???
I'll go first....
My favorite part is reading your comments and blog posts where you tell us tales about your cats!!  I love hearing about your cat experiences and adventures..... and, as is true of all cat lovers, I love talking about my own cats.  I don't often take time here on my blog to share stories about them because the tales are sometimes quite lengthy.  lol....  But during the Cat Lovers Hop, I have a GOOD excuse to talk at length about my cats....not to mention that I have a captive audience!!  Ha.
This is how to play the game to be eligible for the prize drawing:
1. Leave a comment telling us about your favorite part of our Hop. (Also feel free to leave feedback on anything I could do better...or do worse!! Ha. Are they getting better each year? I welcome any comments on what needs improvement! I know I am not doing a perfect job at this!! lol...)
2. After you finish your Cat Hop Feedback comment, fill out your (own) name in the link up below.  This doesn't have any thumbnails so no photo needed!  You don't even need a blog!!!  This is for everyone!!!  I will draw the random winner from the link up, so don't forget to do that part if you want to be eligible!
NEW THIS YEAR: The Daily Game link ups will be open the entire duration of the Hop, including the extra day for comments. Entries need to be in by 11:59 pm Pacific, Sunday Oct. 29, 2017 to be eligible for the daily prize. So you have more than just today to comment and link up. I realize that not everyone has access to a printer or likes to use digis, so I am still keeping the link up gadget to make sure the digi prizes go to winners who can use them. But I am hoping EVERYONE will participate in answering the questions whether they are putting their name in for the prize or not.
Okay, now it is your turn!!
REMEMBER: Today is the LAST DAY to link your cat-themed projects over on the Main Hop Page. You still have one more day to catch up on commenting, though.  :)  This link-up below is just to enter the drawing for the Daily Game after you have commented with your Cat Lovers Hop Feedback.  Thanks!!!
Thank you sooooooooooo much for being a part of the 2017 Cat Lovers Hop all week long. Your enthusiastic participation has been wonderful beyond words.
Be sure to check back tomorrow (Oct. 29) for my National Cat Day post.  I encourage each of you to make a special post, too!  Post your favorite funny cat memes...or whatever you're feline like.  I will have a linkup (no prizes) for any of you who are doing a special post tomorrow.  I know we will want to stop by to visit!!
  1. Such a fabulous card with my image - Thank you Janis.
    The best thing about the Hop for me... apart from having the fabulous kitty overload all week... is the chance to meet all the other kitty lovers from around the world. :-)
    Thank you very much for hosting this excellent Hop and for having me as one of your Sponsors.
  2. BEautiful coloring on Ike's image. Love those kitties so much! I've been a bit down in the dumps with lost mojo so I did not work ahead for the Hop, but the excitement and inspiration has gotten me going again. Love the sponsors and fabulous creativity and visiting all the kitty lover participants. The games are interesting and exciting. I understand why it's a small limit to enter other challenges, but I enter in a forum that does not visit my blog in some cases but I count them in my limit so I don't break the rules. Maybe a pass on that would be nice. xxD
  6. The best thing about the hop for me is "forcing" me to use all the cat themed products I have accumulated and never have time to play with. Also it gave me a chance to make some projects for upcoming kid's craft shows.
    I enjoyed seeing everyone's creations and being introduced to new companies too.
    Thanks so much Janis.
  8. There are so many things to like about the Hop that it is hard to pick a favorite. I love hearing stories about the kitties (except close calls, too scary) and I love seeing all the cat themed projects and I love know that I'm not the only one in the world that is absolutely bonkers about kitties. There is so much to love about the Hop. I like that it makes me use cat themed things too! I love seeing the sponsors and learning what new cat products are out there. I've been good so far and only purr-chased two new cat things. That could change though as the day is still young.
  9. Ok, so I read this at 2am and missed it, but I just read it again... Poor IKE!! Some cats are just begging to get picked on! At least there won't be a hissy fit in retaliation!!
    Hooray for another great bunch of sponsors and such fab demo cards!! Thanks to all!!
    I'd rather write about what's NOT to like about the hop! Like that it doesn't last all year and we don't have the time to sit and ignore our daily lives and just spend it here crafting, being inspired by others, enlarging our very long wish-lists, swapping cat stories, joking and having outrageous fun while getting our kitty-fixes and fur-therapy! I truly look forward to it all year and it's a good thing it is only once a year as it takes me that long to collect a nice bunch of cat projects. The past two months it seemed like it would never come and now it's almost over... hmph! (swishes tail and throws nose up in the air) I just don't want it to end!
    I know there are HOURS of behind the scenes work you have to put into this hop, but I really appreciate it!! THANK MEW!!
  11. It's been a pleasure to meet the participants (if for the first time) and also super lovely to catch up on previous years players and their blogs too!! Janis, you have created a fabulous community within these hop! The sponsors have been very generous with gorgeous examples, I just cant choose favourites...just too many.. its like wow, wow and wow! My highlight of the hop has been the GAMES - I've loved telling 'tails' of my kitty and on my blog too. A couple of the ladies commenting said they wish they had put their stories of their kitties on their blogs too... its a great idea (and here in the comments too :) ) I would love to see those stories on blogs with accompanying craftwork :) Just lovely lovely all the way through! THANKYOU Janis - your hard work is just so successful! Again, a lovely community!
  16. Well my favorite part of the hop, besides having an excuse to go a little bit cat-crazy, is to read about other crafters who also love cats and to see their projects. I am just so impressed with all the different creative crafts that have been shared, and enjoy reading about everyone's cat stories. Of course, the chance to win cat themed prizes is a bonus too! Thank you Janis and sponsors for helping make this a purrrrfect event!
  20. My favourite thing about this year's Cat Lovers Hop was that I finally took the plunge to begin my cat mini albums. I've been wanting to start them for years (yes, years!) but found the idea so overwhelming. Now that I've started, it's not as tough as I thought it would be and I'm really enjoying myself. I have 10 pages made for Snowie's album and I made a page for Honeydew and Kiwi's album just to say that I've started it. I plan to plug away at the albums and it's all thanks to the inspiration from your hop. Thank you, Janis! And thanks to all the generous sponsors! It's been fun!
  21. My favorite part is the daily games and reading about everyone's cat experiences! I can't think of anything you could do to make it any better! It's great now! And of course the projects and meeting other cat lovers through their blogs!
  22. After taking a few hours for a break, I came back and finished thanking all the sponsors. I loved seeing all the cute prizes again! You did great, Janis! I have no suggestions for improvements - the hop was purr-fect! You are appreciated!
  23. I enjoy reading all your interesting cats information and also the sponsors as I do not know everyone of them. One thing I would like is that you allow the link up for the cats themed projects to have the same deadline time as the entries comments. I was sad I could not link up to my projects as it has been closed. Thank you so much. pingvf(at)rocketmail(dot)com
    1. Vivian, there has to be at least one extra day for commenting, otherwise it would be impossible to comment on the final entries. Since the hop lasts nearly a full week, we look forward to you joining in next year!
