Grungy Valentine

Something similar happens at my house when I am giving Perdita and Jetta their twice daily dollop of canned cat food.....which seems to help settle their stomachs.  The other kitties (who don't need it) all start dancing around and hollering for their share of it!!

Hi, Friends.....

Can you stand one more valentine????

Valentine's Day somehow sneaked up on me this year!!  Fortunately, I had this embossed background leftover from last year and only had to add the twine and put it on the card base to send this to my Dad.  I also sponged distress ink around the edges and on the embossing in a few places where the folder had slightly chewed up the patterned cardstock.

I think the distressing and the deep tones looked manly enough for Dad.  He's always more interested in the homemade cookies I include in his packages than in the cards I make, anyway! :)

Supplies used include:
Serendipity - Heart Scroll stamp and die set
Darice - Swirl Background embossing folder
Elmer's - Painters Markers in gold
Distress Ink in Walnut Stain
DCWV Scraps
Jute twine from stash
Core'dinations cardstock for card base

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you are having a lovely week!!

  4. This card is fantastic! I really like how it has the iconic Valentine's heart, yet it is masculine and original and interesting. What a clever idea to make the heart image right on top of the embossed background the way you did. I think the whole thing came together beautifully and I'm so glad you shared your talents with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog!
