Simple Masculine Valentine

Wish I had a stamp that says this.  We are always calling our fat winter-time cats "Loaf-Cats". 🖤

Hi, Friends.......

I haven't posted anything for a little while, but that doesn't mean I haven't been crafting! :) I've made several valentines recently and even held a valentine card making party at our little church. I will be sharing a post about that sometime later this week. 💟

For right now, I want to share a simple masculine valentine I made using the MFT Sketch for the week.

Sometimes the customary "valentine colors" of red/pink/white look a bit too girly for a guy valentine. So I employed my favorite recipe for making masculine cards: Dark colors + Clean lines + Texture.

Even though there is no actual "red" on this valentine, the warm browns work just as well, esp with a kraft card base. I adore using printed kraft corrugate for some great texture. It is a very simple card, but guys are a little put off by fussiness sometimes, so this is perfect.

Supplies used include:
Darice - Nesting Hearts die set
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Katharine Cutaways die set
Distress Ink in Walnut Stain for edges
Patterned paper scraps from stash

Thank you for stopping by today! I'll be back with more valentines I made from this wonderful sketch. See you later!!

🖤
Janis

  7. Oh yes, that LOAF sentiment is a wonderful one..but you could always computer generate it even if you don't have a stamp. Hmm, I think I have some loafy cat images that would go perfectly with that sentiment.
Kraft and texture are always great for guy cards, aren't they? This design would work all year round actually..just change the sentiments to suit the occasion.
