**********************************************

Hi, Friends.....

I am so glad you are back today to join us for Day 2 of our 2021 Cat Lovers Hop.  A big thanks to everyone who already pounced on the Daily Game yesterday.  I enjoyed reading about new kitties and catching up on other cats who have made regular appearances on here over the last several years.  Sadly, there were quite a number of dear pets that passed on this last year.  Part of what makes our community of Cat Lovers so special is that we not only share each other's joys, but also commiserate with each other's losses. 💔💔💔

If you haven't participated in the Kitty Roll Call from yesterday's Day 1 Daily Game, I hope you will go back and do so.  You can enter any of the Daily Games through Wed. Nov. 3, but don't wait! We hope to hear from the rest of you soon.  The games are fun and really help us get to know you and your kittiesThere are fabulous digital images for prizes, but you are NOT required to enter for the digital image prize to participate in the games.  We want to hear from everyone!!

I'm also enjoying the projects that have been linked up already.  Fabulous!!  I love seeing cat products out there that I didn't even know existed. I make a note of the companies for future sponsor possibilities!!  ;)

One more thing before we get going for today.....

If you notice broken links or links going to the wrong pages or someplace where I still have a 2020, instead of 2021, PLEASE send me a note!! I rely on my alert readers to let me know when they run into something like that.  There is already enough mass confusion during our Hops without me starting some international CAT-astrophy!  I super-appreciate everyone's help in this matter!!!

Just a reminder.....You must SIGN IN HERE to be eligible for prizes. Also, LINK UP ALL PROJECTS ON THE MAIN HOP PAGE by 11:55 pm Pacific, Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021.  I have my 2021 Cat Lovers Hop Guidelines and FAQs in a handy tab just under my header at the top of each page.

Okay....let's get right to the events for today.

Each day of the Hop, I will feature one of Ike's wonderful digital images as the prize for that day's Daily Game.  I will include a sample from me or one of my Helpful Hopper Guest Designers.

Today we are honored to have Helpful Hopper NanaConnie as our Guest Designer using today's prize: the Ike's Art - Basket Case image.  Connie is a wizard with digis and really came to my rescue this last week.  Thank you so much, Connie, for helping me out at the last minute!!  You can find out more about Connie's super-fun card on her blog HERE.  Be sure to hop over there and tell her thank you for Guest Designing!

Soooooo....are you interested in winning this digital image????  Read on....there is a question for you to answer and a linky that signs you  up for a chance.

NOTE:  Even if you do not use digital images, please play in the Daily Games so we can all get to know you better!!  If you DO WANT to be in the drawing for the digital prize, leave your comment and LINK UP your name below.

Not all of you use digis and have indicated that to me when you SIGNED IN.  I hope you will still participate in the Daily Games.  You do NOT have to participate in the digi giveaway to answer the Daily Game question that lets us all get to know each other better.  If you DO want to be in the digi prize drawing, be sure to link up your name each day that you participate!

Another HUGE thank you to Helpful Hopper Christi Conley who assisted me in coming up with ideas for our Daily Game topics this year.  This is one of hers:

DAY 2 GAME - What is your favorite cat breed, or one you have always wanted?

I'll start.......

My answer is maybe cheating a little because it is not really a breed.  My favorite cats are Siamese-X  (a Siamese crossed with a domestic shorthair or other mixed breed cat).  There is nothing like the intelligence and great looks of a Siamese, but they are prone to some health conditions.  A Siamese-X, however, is still superbly intelligent with the advantage of the robust health of a mixed breed.

Some Siamese-X don't look very Siamese and others do.  My favorite patterns are either striped just on the points or with the entire coat completely solid black.  My Chaienne (Shy-Cat...or SLY-cat) on my blog header was an orange tabby second generation Siamese-X...one of the smartest and wiliest cats I have ever had.  Her mother was a Siamese-X and had tortie points.

This is how to play the Daily Game to be eligible for the prize drawing:
1.  Make sure you have SIGNED IN HERE to be eligible for prizes.
2. Leave a comment telling us your favorite cat breed or one you would like to have.
3. After you finish your comment: if you want to be in the drawing for the prize, fill out your (own) name in the link up below. This doesn't have any thumbnails so no photo needed! You don't even need a blog!!!  This is for everyone!!!
NOTE: The Daily Game link ups will be open the entire duration of the Hop, including the extra days for comments. Entries need to be in by 11:59 pm Pacific, Wednesday Nov. 3, 2021 to be eligible for the daily prize. So you have more than just today to comment and link up. I realize that not everyone has access to a printer or likes to use digis, so I am still keeping the link up gadget to make sure the digi prizes go to winners who can use them. But I am hoping EVERYONE will participate in answering the questions whether they are putting their name in for the prize or not.

Okay, now it is your turn!!

REMEMBER: Link your cat-themed projects over on the Main Hop Page. (Please use #2021CatLoversHop on social media!!) This link-up below is just to enter the drawing for the Daily Game after you have commented with your Kitty Roll Call. Thanks!!!

Okay.....let's continue on with the feline fun today!! Thanks so much for your excitement and participation!!!

  2. Woohoo, Day 2! Thank you to all of those generous sponsors! And thank you, Janis, for everything you do! Thank you to your helpers as well! NanaConnie's card is AWESOME and I had a good chuckle as my cats have always been basket kitties. So cuuuute! I ran out of time yesterday so I'm playing catch-up today and probably will be all week. I haven't commented on Day 1 yet but will do so today. As for today's question, I've always been fascinated with the Abyssinian. The colour/coat is so beautiful and unique. I've only ever seen one once, at a cat show, and I was smitten!

  5. Saw a picture of a Bengal recently. Very stunning. Always liked the idea of a blue cat so maybe a Russian Blue?? Hugz

  6. Super card by NanaConnie. I've only had one cat that loved a good box. I know it's not a breed but I had a rescue cat that was an orange tabby. She was female which I didn't know at the time was unusual. I would love to have another one. She was a wonderful cat.

  7. Love Nana Connie's card - beautiful colouring and she couldn't have found better coordinating papers. Thanks to Christi for coming up with the daily game ideas.
I really don't have any favourite breeds - I love them all! I do have a fondness for ginger cats, though. My hubby says it's because I'm a redhead (or was!!!).

  8. So many wonderful sponsors! Thank you!! Nana Connie made such a beautiful card with that cute image!

At one point I wanted to add a Russian Blue to my household, but honestly I just love my short hair Orange Tabby and long-ish hair Main Coon mix. So at this time in my life I would say there isn't a specific breed as I seem to fall in love with every cat I see.

  9. The Maine Coon is my favorite breed. I had three of them 30 years ago. Brandy and Buddy were two 25-lb full-bloods and Haiti was 19-lbs mixed with domestic long hair. They were such awesome cats! <3

  10. I guess I've always been drawn to an Abyssinian. Intense and intelligent, and very loving. Still, I'll always try save the rescues.

NanaConnie, your card is so sweet! Love the colour work and the striped background helps make it pop! xx

  11. I love all cat breeds. But for me the most wonderful and beloved are the "roof" cats, European cats. Although I have a cat whose grandfather was a wildcat.

  12. I have always wanted a Maine Coon - my ex's father had one and I was mesmerized by the size!! But, since I won't buy a cat when there are so many shelter kitties, I'll never get one. A friend of mine had a pure bred Bengel and they are amazing cats!! That would be my second choice. However, I will happily settle for my "mutts' :)

    1. I have to agree, Christi, Maine Coons are fantastic cats and yet I also end up with shelter cat mutts. Hugs and thanks for getting me involved in helping out Janis this year. Hope I can do that again. :-D

  13. I have to agree with Janis about Siamese X cats (and about Boxinese - I have had many of those!) Over my lifetime, I've had 4 pure Siamese cats but all had health issues that took them over the rainbow bridge at less than 10 years old. Today, my household is happily filled with feral or shelter rescues (now happily indoor-only cats) and they are wonderful. However, a friend of mine has a Ragdoll and I'm so in love with her that I really want one but doubt I'd ever spend the money for one.
Thanks to all of you for your sweet and encouraging comments on my card. I'm sure we are all aware that the sentiment is more true than just humorous. :-D

  14. I have always been partial to Siamese cats ever since I got my first one when I was about 5 years old! The only other kitty I have had that wasn't Siamese was Spooky, who was a DSH. He was also the only male cat I have ever had.

  15. Oh my....Connie's bread basket kitty is just adorable, and beautifully colored. Those eyes just draw you in. As for a breed of cat that I've always wanted, that would be a Scottish Fold. Their sweet round face with those folded ears grabbed me the minute I saw one at a cat show. My own cats were always rescues, and mixed breeds....and Baily (a tuxedo cat) was my favorite!

    ReplyDelete
  16. I have 3 cats, all different breeds. I think I like the Siamese best. She follows us around like a puppy dog and loves to be around us a lot.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Connie's super cute kitty in bread basket is adorable!
I always thought the hairless Sphynx Cat would be a neat cat to have.

  18. thanks to sponsors!
Love Janes Doodles and Newtoons Nook!
Jane is here in Croatia :D hope one day I will meet her!
thats so nice card with kitty in the basket!
I dont have favorite breed I just want to have all cats!
But I think that siamise is in top of favorites cats, maybe because Coffee is siamese.

  19. Connie's card is adorable! Love the colors and papers she used, and the image is the cutest!
    I've always loved tortishell kitties, but I haven't found a cat breed I didn't like. :)

  20. Since one of us in the household is allergic I'll have to say my favorite is a stuffed cat. They are ever so cute though. [Bunny]

  21. I have always been drawn to the little non-specific breed that is being given away! Every kitty we have ever had was needing a home immediately and we had to have them.

  22. Marisela Delgado said: I don't really have a specific breed in mind. I just love kitty cats. My cat, Mocos, which means boogers in Spanish, was a yellow tabby and had a lot of boogers. haha ☺☺☺ mariandmonsterd@yahoo.com

  28. Big shout out to Ike's Art for their generous support of the daily question! Amazing images! I am a pretty simple kind of gal. I like domestic, short hair, especially black ones! If given the opportunity, I would like to have a pure bred Maine Coon. I have a part-Maine Coon, and find her quite hilarious! :)
