I also have a card or two that used calendar pages for backgrounds (with that thin paper and glossy finish), and I STILL have a stack of old calendars in my craft stash hoping to be used in a future project. The funny thing about wallpapering your card base is that I started out leaving a border around my card base design, back when I first started making cards. However, I find myself covering the entire card base with patterned paper now! So I've gone in the opposite direction from you...which probably makes one of us a rebel at least. And hey, call your calendar page use "upcycling" and suddenly you're a cool hipster. You can never go wrong adding glitter, either. Thanks for joining the fun at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! I'm loving it! I laugh, laugh, LAUGH at your comments about the size of the designer paper. True confession: I would pre-cut patterned paper into 4.25 x 5.5 pieces (even from 12x12) and then when I'd go to use it I'd cut it down to 4 x 5.25.... It took me a long time to figure out to pre-cut to the size I'm gonna use anyway. It wasn't a big deal with the 8.5 x 11 designer papers but it really made a difference with the 12x12 stuff! Adding the Nuvo takes away any boring-ness (if that's a word) that the all over paper might have. Lovely card (your other too, I had to have a peek) and great rescue job.
