You were my cheery greeter.
You were a vigilant protector of your hens.
You were a valiant fighter, but no match for the predator.
Your hens are safe, dear Rooster.
I will miss your lovely iridescent colors.
Some people say it is foolish even to keep a rooster, but I love having one. I am sad to lose this endearing and funny bird.
