"He liked to peep into the refrigerator and risk having his head shut in by the closing door. He also climbed to the top of the stove, discontinuing the practice after he singed his tail."
------------Lloyd Alexander
Hi, Friends......
The above photo of the cats lying on the car looks similar to what mine do all day....except I think the above cats are getting warm from the residual engine heat. Mine are totally limp from these high temps.....they're like a bunch of dead cats lying about sleeping it off. I take a cue from them and nap in the heat of the day with Little Peach. It does help. I wake feeling considerably cooler.....not cool, mind you....just cool-er.
Today I am sharing a card I made for the MFP Simple Salutations Challenge with an Oriental theme this week. Am I the only one around that ever uses the boxes of pre-folded solid color cards and envelopes that you see at craft stores??? I LOVE THEM!! There are a number of brands, but I usually end up finding DCWV or David Tutera ones on clearance at JoAnn's. They are great for putting together a quick card because the base is all ready. That's what I used for today's card.
I went with complementary colors today with a pretty piece from the old DCWV Far East stack (discontinued) and choosing a pretty orange and blue K&Co. pattern for my Serendipity die-cut lattice butterfly. The little greeting stamp is also from Serendipity. The sheer ribbon was JoAnn clearance. I love the serene look of this card, even though the pop of orange really stands out. Do you think it is too much????
That's all for now. Hope your air is better than our forest-fire fresh Idaho mountain air!!! Ugh....hate fire season....and I know that a lot of places have it worse than we do here. Stay safe, everyone.

Another beautiful card Janis, and no, that orange butterfly is NOT too much...it's a great splash of color against the blue and gray! I also have that old DCWV paper stack, Far East, and haven't pulled it out in quite a while. I really need to start using it but I have to fight my hoarding tendency first..ha! Oh yes, and I use the boxes of prefolded cards all the time! I love the ones that are colored on the outside and white inside, then I don't have to line my cards.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Karen! I know all abt that hoarding tendency......but I am trying to do better!!! The new Far East stack is gorgeous with the foil, but I do love that old stack, too.
DeleteGlad to know I'm not the only one who uses those boxes of cards! They are really convenient.
