Hi, Friends......******************************************************Remember that I've been shopping and stockpiling some goodies for a:50 Follower GiveawayI am getting closer and closer to that number!!! Yay!!! I would LOVE for you to become a follower so you can hurry us toward the giveaway and so you won't miss out on a chance to win!!! Who will be #44??????*******************************************************
I am back with a card for this week's MFP Oriental Sketch Challenge. It's been a few weeks since I entered this challenge so it was fun to get one made. Here's the sketch they provided:
I also used the lovely color palette that Joanna gave us for the Inspired by Stamping Monthly Challenge. Aren't those colors totally gorgeous??? Peach and aqua are some of my favorites!!
Here is my interpretation:
My butterfly is from that ancient Rubber Stampede - Victorian Butterflies set that I use quite often. I embossed it in gold and did the same thing to gild the edges of my other pieces.
I inked the edges of the background paper with some coordinating ink and used some metallic gold embellishments for accent.
Here's an angled shot so you can see all the yummy metallic gleam. :)
I really love the simple lines of the Oriental challenges with their basic geometrics, such as the rectangles and diamonds in this one. There is something really peaceful about the simplicity of them.
Hope you have enjoyed my card. Leave a comment and I will love you forever!! Become a follower and I will give you a ginormous smile of your very own to take home and feed!!

ReplyDeleteMynn....Thank you for your lovely comment. IBS has such a wonderful challenge set this month. I am still trying to figure out how to do the chevron one. I don't have any chevron dies. Maybe I could use rick-rack!

Janis
Very pretty! Love how you used the color challenge! Oh and I think rick rack would be a great idea in place of chevrons. :) Hugs, Joanna xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Joanna!!! I am honored you took the time to visit and to leave a comment. Thanks, too, for your okay on using rick-rack for the chevron challenge. Now I have to get my thinking cap on to come up with another card..... :)
