Hi, Friends.....
I am back with Post #9 for my big 11-Post Blog Blitz where I made 11 cards using the Viva La Verve Sketch 2. I have a giveaway going on during this Blog Blitz so take a look at THIS POST for details. Comment on any or all of my eleven Blog Blitz posts answering the question(s) for each post to be entered.
Here's the sketch that I used for these eleven cards that I am showing you in this Blog Blitz:
I still had my orange scraps out and another card with orange and pink and those weird little flowers just sort of happened..... LOL! At least I was a little more restrained in piling on the flowers than I was on my last card! I think I was just very excited to find a place they would work and the busy background on that card could handle the big grouping of them. This plain background would be overwhelmed with too many of them.
This is quite an eclectic mix of colors, but I like the bright combo. Do you like the K&Co. wood fence background piece? I think it looks sweet with the crazy flowers.
Supplies used include:
Hero Arts Sparkle Clear - Cupcakes
Versafine ink - Smokey Gray
Faber-Castell Art-Grip Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils
Crayola Watercolor Pencils
Aquabrush
Petaloo Flowers
Now for the Question for Post #9:
What supplies have you used lately that you thought you might never find a place for?
That's all for now. Be sure to answer the questions on each of my Blog Blitz posts by 11:59 pm April 30, 2016 for lots of entries into my big Blog Blitz Giveaway! See you next post!

ReplyDeleteyour cad is very sweet!
I use clear box from foam stickers to make my card :D
I love the cute cupcake!
ReplyDeleteI used an umbrella die on a set of ATCs that I wasn't too sure how I would use it. But the April showers theme worked out really well for it!
Love your sweet card....I never thought I would use the tissue paper or clean boxes my stamps come in. Great way to recycle too!
ReplyDeleteThe cupcake gives some nice variety and color to your collection! I recently used colored pencils on a project to color in some flowers that I never thought I'd use for cardmaking. The flowers turned out great!
ReplyDeleteTake care!
Michele
Loving the bright happy colors, and those whimsical flowers are the perfect embellishment! I really like the way you scribbled yellow on your cupcake panel for a color with a textured look too. Something about this card just keeps making a smile appear on my face...which is a good thing!
ReplyDeleteAs far as recently using something I thought I would never use, that would be a flower sticker that I just used tonight. I almost never use stickers anymore, but am forcing myself to try to use at least one unloved item on every other card I make. This card is inspiring me to start on my own flower stash next!
You certainly have an eye for putting the unusual together.
ReplyDeleteThr one little red flower works so well here. I've had a little crochet flower sat in my pin pot on my desk for ages that I have been put off using as it is turquoise with a yellow centre. I have used it today on a card by covering up the offending yellow with a sticky pearl!! Hugs Mrs A.
Another adorable cupcake card! I thought I would never find a way to use my leftover shapes that I saved.
ReplyDeleteThose flowers go great with those scraps!
ReplyDeleteNever find a place for?! I hoard things because I THINK I can find a place for EVERYTHING - and, if not, I can surely ALTER it! LOL! But, if something isn't my style, it will sneak its way into blog candy as a surprise bonus.
Fun and colorful card.
ReplyDeleteSeveral years ago a church friend was getting rid of some of her stash and for some reason I picked up a die that cut out a place setting--with plate, knife, fork and spoon. I never used it until this past year when we were making a memory book for our retiring pastor and his wife. She was in our stamping group. I was able to use these dies on the page with photos of our Hot Meals ministry.
Another gorgeous card! the cupcake looks good enough to eat! Thank you for joining us at the Ribbon Girl, good luck and I hope you will join us again.

Hi Janis. This is a nice card. I like all of the background papers you've used but because of the florals peeking through on the wood fence paper, your flowers pull it together. The supplies I have been using lately (that I have kept and thought, "when will I use them"?) are my ribbon/twine scraps. I have been adding them to everything lately. Hate wasting things so trying to use them up!
ReplyDeleteBTW, I am glad I have found time to catch up. Going to back-track on your blitz, from day one. Hope I have time to do all 11. (You must be on a roll...LOL)
OH, I think this one is my favorite one yet!! I have been using lots of old store bought flowers lately, not normal for me as I make most of my own!
ReplyDeletelove the colors of this one and that K & Co paper is great! what supplies? I have been scrapping like mad and I have used some very old supplies lately. I just used some weird pinkish red thickers that I inherited in a grab bag...no A, B, or C's! I thought I will never spell a title without an A! I used a lot of C's too. And the color was very unique...not red, not pink but both. They went perfectly with a layout I am posting tomorrow. Check out my blog and see these "old thickers"

I have a stamp set with planner/calendar related sentiments that I waited forever to use. I made a Christmas planner for a niece and was able to use several of the stamps in the set.
ReplyDeleteSuch a delightful card. Love all the flowers and cupcakes. I've started using some of my embellishments from the way way back of the closet lately... pre-made flowers, vintage circle tags, beaded stick pins, etc.
ReplyDeleteAnother great card!! You are on a roll!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up your project this month!!
Have a wonderful day!!
