The Daily Game is generously sponsored each day by Ike's Art!!!

Please take time to visit Ike at these social media spots: BlogInstagram, Store, and Facebook Group. Don't forget to Like, Follow, Share, and Comment with a big "THANK YOU for sponsoring the 2018 Cat Lovers Hop at Her Peaceful Garden!"

BONUS:  Ike's Show us Your Pussies - Cats Only Challenge theme this month is Furrything Goes + MEOW-loween.  So if you make a kitty creation for the Cat Hop (Halloween or not), you can also link it up over there!!  Yay!!

Ike has graciously designed a new seasonal set of digital images for prizes for our Daily Games.  I will randomly choose 4 winners from all the entries in the Daily Games to win one of these fab images.  (NOTE:  You must link up your name in the linky tool at the bottom of each post to be in the drawing for the digi prizes.)  I will be featuring each of the images individually on the next four days of the hop.

Today I am featuring Ike's brilliant image called "Gatto Fawkes"....which I adore!!  Instead of a Halloween treat bag for my daughter, I made a Guy Fawkes treat bag.  Ha! She's going to love it!!!
Not everyone here in the colonies (America...lol..) might be familiar with Guy Fawkes and the refrain "Remember, remember, the 5th of November", but you can read about this famous character in English history HERE and about how they celebrate Guy Fawkes Day HERE. Hey, who said we can't be history buffs AND cat lovers around here???

NOTE:  PLEASE PLAY THE DAILY GAME EVEN IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE IN THE DRAWINGS FOR THE DIGI PRIZES.

Not all of you use digis and have indicated that to me when you SIGNED IN.  I hope you will still participate in the Daily Game.  You do NOT have to participate in the digi giveaway to answer the Daily Game question that lets us all get to know each other better.  If you want to be in the digi prize drawing, link up your name each day that you participate.

DAY 3 GAME:  Best Tips for Removing Loose Cat Hair (from surfaces, clothes, cards, ink pads, stamps, etc. etc. etc.!!)

Just to show you that we are not ONLY silly games and furry foolishness around here, I am getting practical for once and asking for your best tips on that bane of our existence.......cat hair on everything!!  :)
During seasonal shed time (now and in the spring!) I have tufts of cat hair showing up all over.  Now, I admit, not all of my cats get brushed regularly and that would help a lot.....but when you have loose cat hair around what are your best techniques for removing it?   Do you ever have cat hairs glued to your cards?  Or am I the only one who discovers this.....sometimes too late??!!  Arrrghh...

My best tip is buying a mega-count sized package of those sticky pet hair rollers and keeping them all over the house, including one in my craft drawer.  I use it on my clothes before I start crafting and on my craft surfaces...even on my face, if I feel the tickle of a cat hair on me!  BONUS:  these also pick up stray glitter and errant sequins very effectively!!  Yay!

This is how to play the game to be eligible for the prize drawing:

1.  Leave a comment giving us your Loose Cat Hair Removal tips and tricks.
2.  After you finish your comment:  if you want to be in the drawing for the prize, fill out your (own) name in the link up below.  This doesn't have any thumbnails so no photo needed!  You don't even need a blog!!!  This is for everyone!!!

NOTE: The Daily Game link ups will be open the entire duration of the Hop, including the extra day for comments. Entries need to be in by 11:59 pm Pacific, Sunday Oct. 28, 2018 to be eligible for the daily prize. So you have more than just today to comment and link up. I realize that not everyone has access to a printer or likes to use digis, so I am still keeping the link up gadget to make sure the digi prizes go to winners who can use them. But I am hoping EVERYONE will participate in answering the questions whether they are putting their name in for the prize or not.

Okay, now it is your turn!!

REMEMBER: Link your cat-themed projects over on the Main Hop Page. (Please use #CatLoversHop2018 on social media!!) This link-up below is just to enter the drawing for the Daily Game after you have commented with your Tips for Removing Loose Cat Hair. Thanks!!!

Thank you sooooooooooo much for being a part of the 2018 Cat Lovers Hop.  Your comments and projects are all completely PAW-SOME!!!  And so are each of you!!

 🖤

  2. LOL Janis! We only had one cat - and black - so the magic lint brush used to do the job! I cant imagine on a mass scale LOL!!! (A concept that had never occurred to me before - definitely would be a problem, just as well the kitties are adorable!)

  3. LOL!!! How would I know! I have cat hair in my freezer! LOL So not kidding. I mostly just ignore the fluff until I get a cleaning frenzy going. Usually before tornado weather. I seem to get energetic then.

  4. Okay, I'm ROTFL at the previous comments. Will have to come back because we definitely have some comics in the bunch, for sure. I'm a fan of the rollers, too but I also have this thing that looks like a fat sponge but much more dense that works well on upholstery. Jezebel, my fuzz ball, is hard to catch and really squirms and screams when we try to groom her. She pulls off clumps at a time that I save for craft projects. I've actually needle felted a mini kitty from her fur. LOL She gets in such a mess that she gets Rastafarian cat dreads that we have to cut off of her at times. I think I may stick to short hairs from now on, but the fuzzy ones are soo cute!

    1. Oh yes, and I love your Gatto Fawkes project, Janis!

  5. I just bought a roller (I dunno what you call them) from Ikea. You just roll it all over your clothes to remove hair, fur & dust particles. I have not tried it yet and do hope it works.

  6. We just live with it! We have hard wood floors and I just sweep every day, vacuum the carpet, brush away!

  7. The thing that bothers me most about the hair is when Coco hocks up a hairball. Brushing her helps and she loves it.

  8. Gatto Fawkes looks so handsome on this treat bag, Janis! Have you seen Kit Harrington as Guy Fawkes in Gunpowder? It was a BBC drama and well watching! Cat hairs....eeek!!! I'm a fan of the roller on clothing, the vacuum on flooring and a damp cloth on furniture and upholstery. We have a cat bed that never gets used as Casey prefers our duvet and we have a special kitty cushion for him on a chair which he sits next to! x

    1. I will have to check out that drama, Carole. Love BBC productions!
Isn't that the way cats are...sitting next to the kitty cushion!! LOL.

  9. I use the sticky rollers everywhere. I wish my cats would sit in the same place so I could put something down and just wash it. But when I put a blanket or something in a "usual" spot, they just sit next to it :)!!

    1. Yep....sitting next to the designated place!!! CATS!!! lol... Love them so much...and lucky for them that we do, the little scoundrels!!

  10. Remove cat hair? Heck, no. I have a sign outside over the entryway which says, "No home is complete without cat hair!" lol OK, OK, I vacuum once each season whether it's needed or not.

  11. Cat hair....sigh.... I remember when we had 5 cats and I was very careful not to let them enter the living room so that I didn't have to do a deep cleaning before company came over. However, my sister and husband were over visiting and when she stood up from the living room couch, her black pants were COVERED with cat hair. I'm talking about a huge mat of cat hair that almost looked like an extra cat. Yikes, how embarrassing..and I was glad it was just my sister! As for cat hair removal, I used the sticky pet fur removers (even kept one or two in my car) but often used a damp sponge with a scrubby side. The scrubby side picked up cat hair beautifully and you can just peel off the mat of hair and re-use it over and over again.

    1. Oh, my goodness, Karen. That is such a hilarious story. I totally can see that happening at my house, too. Eeek!!!
I like the scrubby side of the sponge idea.

  12. Oops, got so sidetracked thinking about cat hair that I forgot to say that I love your dashing and wonderfully colored Gatto Fawkes treat bag! Your daughter will love the bag as much as the treats inside...maybe even more! Clever play on Guy Fawkes' name too with the Italian for cat.

  13. I use the sticky rollers or I moisten my hands to collect my cat's hair (v.e. from my skirt)

  14. Great sponsors!
Oh that card from Ike is so cool!
    Love it!
I use sticky rollers and brush to collect cats hair.

  15. Cat hair is a condiment in our house (just kidding, I use one of those hair removal sponges - bought it at the fabric store).

  16. Thanks for the shout out!
Hahaha.... some of these are so funny! I would buy 2"tape of any kind on sale and wrap it around my hand and run my hand over clothes, chairs, etc... a DIY roller. lol! I'm wondering if the Ken Oliver Roll Away tacky roller would work so you just wash it off and don't have to keep buying new rollers? Just a thought. As to what to do with the hair.... When I first moved to where I couldn't have cats anymore, a friend saved all their cat hair for a week in a baggie, put googly eyes in it, put it in a paper bag with a little baggie of cat food, a little baggie of kitty litter and a cassette tape of her 3 year old meowing and labelled it "Kitty in a Bag"! Lol!!

  17. Right now our cat is an outdoor cat but when any cats have been indoors we have used the sticky rollers and vacuumed more.

  18. When I lived at home we had 5 cats, 13 rabbits, and whatever other assorted critter decided to let us adopt it. So yes, there was fur and hair everywhere. I mostly used a wet hand to swipe down my clothes, and we tried to brush and comb the critters daily. Of course, nothing really helped much so we just lived with it!

  19. It was interesting to learn something about Gatto Fawkes! Your card is too cute and funny!!!
I haven't cats right now but I used sticky rollers and brush to collect cats hair.

  20. wind some sellotape, sticky side out, around your hand, and use to pick up hairs

  21. I have 4 cats so I accept there will be cat hair all over me! I do keep lint rollers all around the house and car. We were given a Fur Fighter by Scotch) as a gift (ha, ha) and it works great! Thank you for putting this hop together! This is my first year!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Gatto Fawkes is very handsome! Your daughter will love the cute treat bag you made! As for cat hair, I work at it constantly. It's not only cat hair, it's those little bits of cat litter that get walked around. I vaccuum a lot! In addition to my regular vaccuum and my stick-vac, I do have a Roomba and I highly recommend! Cat hair is a never-ending battle. For upholstery, I vacuum it. For clothes, I use a rolly-brush. For hard surfaces, I wipe with a damp cloth.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Nothing special, the vacuum. Lint roller for clothes.

  24. We used a sticky roller brush and groomed all of our cats daily. Both Perky and Patience would sit beside us when we groomed them, but Boo liked to lay across my lap. Which was really nice because she was like a little furnace. Not is size though, she was about the size of a medium dog and weighed about 20 lbs. She eventually got down to 18 lbs., but was 23 lbs. when we first got her. She was sooo big that she couldn't even reach her tummy to groom herself. LOL! Garfield had nothing on her! Both Perky and Patience would also roll over onto their backs to make sure that you brushed them everywhere and not just on the back and sides.
