Double Embossed Pink Butterfly Card

Hi, Friends.......

I am here with one more shaped card. This time it is a pink butterfly birthday card with double embossing. I love doing backgrounds like this where I dry emboss, coat the raised parts with Versamark ink with my brayer, sprinkle on embossing powder, and then zap with my heat gun. Magical!!

In case you are wondering how the pointy bottom of this card is supposed to stand up for display, I will show you the unfinished inside. Notice how I have cut off the pointy part of the back of the folded card base. That gives it a sturdy flat surface to rest on while  the front balances easily on that fancy point.

Supplies used include:
Sizzix - Fancy Labels die set
Darice - Ranunculus embossing folder
Versamark ink
Pink sparkle embossing powder
Winnie & Walter - Sentimental: Gift stamp set
Versafine ink in Onxy Black
Metallic butterfly sequins
Ribbon from stash
Core'dinations/Darice Cardstock

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you are having a lovely spring at your house. The fruit trees here are in full bloom and the hummingbirds are very, very busy working the feeders and the trees. Hummingbirds hungrily devour aphids and mosquitoes and other small insect pests, so I like to encourage them to visit my yard. :)

  1. Yes the heat embossing goes on so nicely with dry embossing and leaves some splattering around and the pink looks so good against it. Thanks too for your secret on how to make your shaped card stand up easily. Again, thanks for joining us at Double Trouble.

  4. Two brilliant ideas there Janice. Love the raised background with the added sparkle and such a neat idea to square off the back of the card. A simple idea (one I hadn’t thought of mind) but very effective. Love the butterflies. Thank you for coming and spinning the butterfly wheel with me . Hugs Mrs A.
