Monochrome Embossed Merry Christmas - June Rudolph Days

********************************
Don't miss my GIVEAWAY HERE
on my
30 Cats in 30 Years post!!!
********************************

Hi, Friends........

Rushing in here with the fastest card I have ever made! True statement. I already had these embossed strips in my Christmas odds and ends box. They only needed to be trimmed slightly and glued in place. Whew!! I am tickled to have a quickie this time because I really didn't want to be up all night struggling with a Christmas card that wouldn't cooperate.....just so I wouldn't miss the June Rudolph Days over at Scrappy Mo's!!  :)

The black strips are chalkboard paper that has been dry embossed with a border folder and sanded. Love that velvety feel....like the back of kitty ears! Purrr.... The vellum strip is dry embossed with another border folder from the same set, brayered with Versamark ink, and then heat embossed with white embossing powder. I cut a zig-zag edge on the vellum with craft scissors.

(We all have some of those around, but we rarely use them!!  They really are super-handy for cutting a fancy edge in a few moments, though.)

Supplies used include:
DCWV Chalkboard paper
Darice Translucent "Vellum" Paper
Darice - Seasonal Border 3-pack
Core'dinations Sand-it Gadget
Versamark ink
WOW! Embossing Powder - Opaque Bright White Regular
Fiskars Pinking Craft Scissors
Core'dinations/Darice black cardstock for card base

And that's that! I am totally thrilled to not miss the June Rudolph Days!!! Hope you liked my snowy card!! Thank you for stopping by.

  3. Ooooh...kitty ears...I'm all for that! This is a lovely card, in a non-traditional color combo that I love. High five to you for using up scraps, sneaking in under the wire for the Rudolph Challenge, AND using your deco-scissors!!

  4. Wow, when I saw this card I thought that you had heat embossed the sentiment on that strip, but upon re-reading it I realized it was dry embossed and then heat embossed. Great technique for extra texture and detail!

The black and white has a lovely feel and the snowflake was a good choice for your background technique.
