Hi, Friends....
I got brave and tried something different for me with a new stamp set that I picked up on Christmas clearance. I rarely attempt cards that have cute little figures stamped, colored, and fussy cut and put into a scene of my own making. (Now I remember why!!! lol....)
This relatively simple card (I actually made two of them) took me waaaaaaaaaaaaay longer than it should have. Hats off to all you talented crafters who make this style of sweet card all the time, but in my opinion the length of time it takes to make a card should NOT exceed my life expectancy!!! Hahaha... (Now please excuse me while I retreat back to my familiar clean and layered style....lol)

ReplyDeleteHow cute and fun scene!!! Surely you have had to work a lot with all the stamping, colouring, fussy cut, and then mounting all, but such lovely card!! You made also the shadows, wow! :D Great take of the colours prompt, too!

Well done for stepping out of your comfort zone - it was well worth it for this fun card. I'm afraid I have to hold up my hand and say I find fussy cutting quite relaxing as long as i have my light in *exactly* the right position and I'm not startled by the phone ringing or a knock at the door.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet card Janis, you did an amazing job on your scene. My DIL can whip up a stack of adorable scenic cards (and all different!) in an evening, I on the other hand, am like you. As much as I love the looks of them, it takes me forever to make one. 😉

I like your cute little scene. I do like to fussy cut but that is because I am too mean to buy the matching due cuts !! Ha, the number of times I have cut the wrong bit off though. Hugs Mrs A. I love today's photo shoot.

ReplyDeleteSheesh, I thought I had left a comment, but I guess I just left my thoughts in my head and forgot to put it onto the computer. This is such a cute little scene, and that penguin with the gift looks like he's either wearing ice skates in the snow or he's strapped some nifty homemade snow shoes onto his feet! I have some stitched hills that I love to use as either snow or grass too. Fussy cutting doesn't usually bother me too much, but you did a LOT of it on this card...bravo!! So worth the effort too!
