100th Birthday Card - Adapted from an old one I made a long time ago.....

Hi, Friends.....

I volunteered to make a 100th Birthday card for a lady who was a long-time member of our church but who now lives out of the area.  I knew I needed a large-format card so everyone at church could sign it.  I had some ideas in mind, but they kept reminding me of a card I made a year and a half ago and still had in my stash of cards.  So I pulled that one out and adapted it for this very special milestone birthday.  Do you ever do that?

Here's the original card from this post dated September 15, 2014:

Here's my adaptation:

I added glittery gold Thickers numbers over a vellum banner, colored on the backside with my Spectrum Noirs to match the other pink on the card.  I also added a loopy gold bow.  (Yah, I know....the bow is not the only loopy thing around here!  Ha.)  What do you think?  Should I have added more flowers?  I didn't want to draw too much attention away from the focal image, so I left it as is.

Hope this gives you some ideas on remakes of your own cards.  I could so relate to the kitty meme at the top....I can fix this...sorta.  lol...

Thanks for visiting today.  I probably can't enter this into any challenges because I had posted it in its earlier form.  So....many, many thanks if you are a faithful reader and just happen to see this post!  :)  I appreciate each of you who stops by, even when I am totally out-of-my-mind Grandma-ing to make it to your blogs as often as I would like!!

Have a fabulous day!!

  2. Janis, this is just exquisite! I loved the original but it's even more fun now with those glitter numbers and the gold bow. No additional flowers necessary because, as you said, you want the delicate cherry blossoms to be the focal point. This 100 year old birthday girl is going to want to show off her card to everyone!
