Hi, Friends......
Did you have a chance to make any cards for World Card Making Day on Saturday? I made only one that day (very pleased I got at least that one made!).....but I am participating in Winnie & Walter's WCMD Challenges. They go on all week, so you can still get in on the fun!!
Here's a Craftie ..... a shot of the card in progress! (Sorry for the lighting.) |
For this card, I stamped a background for the Winnie & Walter WCMD 2017 Background Building/Pattern Making Challenge. I rarely stamp my own background and instead rely on patterned paper, so this was a great challenge for me. I used leaves from two different sets: gold heat embossed leaves from Winnie & Walter - In Bloom: Hollie's Festive Florals stamp set and a small tree (which I think looks like a leaf) from the Winnie & Walter - Kindness with Evelin T Designs stamp set which I stamped with Distress Inks and misted heavily with water to give a distressed, washed out look.
Do you like the autumny focal stamp? My son found this one at a thrift store and knew I would love it. What a terrific son! <3 He finds me some totally awesome stamps!!
Supplies used include:
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Katharine Cutaways die set
Winnie & Walter - In Bloom: Hollie's Festive Florals stamp set
Winnie & Walter - Kindness with Evelin T Designs stamp set
Distress Ink in Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Aged Mahogany, and Vintage Photo
Unidentified Autumn Stamp - from thrift store
Versamark Ink
Gold embossing powder
Ribbon from stash
Thank you so much for stopping by today and for your sweet comments!!!
<3

This is beautiful Janis, you DO have an awesome son!
ReplyDeleteIt is a busy weekend around our house as it is Thanksgiving here in Canada. However, despite having a cold (and laryngitis) I have been working on 6 sets of recipe cards. My daughter is having a bake sale and wanted them to add to her table of goodies. (Our 1st little grandson has started school and this is his first "big event" at "BIG school". LOL)
I hope you had a great weekend as well!
I love your colours on this card. The background you have made looks fabulous. Had to hunt for the tree masquerading as a leaf though.! It fdoes indeed look like a leaf . Good thinking on your part. Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeletePretty autumn card! Thanks for joining us at Penny Black & More and good luck!

That background is so warm and rich and then when you added the gold heat embossing, it looks like gold stitched tapestry from some exotic civilization from the far away past. For someone who doesn't stamp their own background, you look like you invented it!
ReplyDeleteA very pretty card, the gold embossing looks fantastic against the yellow background. Thanks so much for sharing your creation at
ReplyDeleteAnything goes October link-up, Just keep on creating
Susan xx
I especially like the way you used the branch parts of the stmp to add gold details around the edges of the background - excellent use of the stamp! Thanks for joining us for this week's HeARTful Stamping Challenge!
