Hi, Friends......

I am back with the second shaker I made with my new technique that I described in THIS POST. Basically I use a small ziplock bag to corral all the shaker bits and put the card together around that. In my other card, I did NOT use any dimensional foam. This made the card flatter for easier mailing and also kept the sequins from all falling down to the bottom so much.

For this card, I went ahead and put the dimensional foam inside as usual to see how much difference it made in the card. Since my shaker bits are all contained within the plastic ziplock, I did not have to be super careful to make sure there were no breaches in my foam "dam" around the sequin mix. Loving that!

Here is the result......

As you can see, this method does not give the same smooth as glass look as the regular way of making shakers. I think the dimensional foam on this one allows the inner ziplock to sag a tiny bit, making the slight wavy appearance somewhat more obvious than in my card without foam. Still, when it is in hand it is not bad at all.

  9. As shaker cards always intimidate me with all that foam tape and errant sequins and beads, I'll have to give the zip lock baggie technique a try. I really like the heart cutout for your shaker window, and the beautiful layers and butterfly.
