Whew....I got the Cat Lovers Hop finished and all the winners posted! Yay!! So I am finally getting a card done for Scrappy Mo's Rudolph Days. Don't want to miss that!
I just got a new Christmas stamp from STAMPlorations with some prize credit and couldn't wait to try it out! I used sparkly blue embossing powder and one of my watercolor marker rehydration backgrounds. I added some clear sparkly sequins for some dazzle.
Winners for the 2019 Cat Lovers Hop are announced HERE!!! Thanks for hopping over to this post! I want to give you an opportunity to help me make our Cat Hops even better. I value the feedback you give me on all aspects of our hop. So I have a few quick questions. Please rate our Hop and offer any comments or suggestions you might have.
Using the numbers 1-5 1 = Definitely needs improvement 2 = Could be better 3 = Okay as is 4 = Very good 5 = Outstanding
Please leave a comment rating our Hop on the following things (and answer the questions, if you wish) . I am especially interested in ways I can make things better. Feel free to BE HONEST!!! :)
EASE OF USE (Are my posts too long? TLDR...lol... Are they difficult to read or understand, esp for international participants? Are there too many rules? Which parts are confusing? Are the games easy to play?)
FUN AND INTERESTING (Do you like the Daily Games? Is our "Cats" theme too broad or too narrow? Are my posts boring? Do you enjoy the "Hop" part where we go to each other's blogs and comment? Do you like the prizes that are centered mainly around cat crafting products?)
FRIENDLINESS (Do you feel our Hop is a community of friends? Have we been cheerful and welcoming to new Hoppers? Did Hoppers visit your project and leave nice comments? Do you feel like a valued member of the Hop? Do you still feel like part of the Hop family, even if you can only participate in a limited way?)
MY RESPONSIVENESS (Have you had difficulties with our hop that I helped you work through? Have I answered your questions about the Hop...in my posts, FAQs, or personally in comments or emails? Have I been receptive to offers of help and suggestions for corrections and improvements?)
ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BEING ON A CAT LOVERS HOP EMAIL LIST? I might like
to have a group that I can call on for assistance for next year's hop.
Or something might come to our attention during the "off-season" that I
think other Hoppers would like to know about. I would not be sending
regular emails...only if I had some pertinent news. Let me know if you
are interested in being on my list.
You can also let me know your favorite things and least favorite things about the Hop and anything else you want to say. On the whole do the positives outweigh the negatives???? I hope so!! :)
Sorry...couldn't resist. I knew you'd understand!!
I have to be honest......I LOVE to hear that our Cat Lovers Hop is your favorite hop of the year and that you look forward to it each year! (Purr...purr...purr...) But I also want to know things that I can improve.
THANK YOU so much for helping me by filling out this survey. The Cat Lovers Hop is truly OUR hop and I appreciate you taking an active part in helping it be the best it can be!!
Hi, Friends and Cat Lovers!!! WE DID IT!! We all survived the Hop last week! I feel congratulations are in order for just making it through the week....lol.. (Have you caught up on cooking and housework yet???? I haven't either!! Ha.) It is not much of an exaggeration to say that most of my waking hours last week were spent on the hop.....and I didn't even do any crafting!!! I mean it when I say that you guys work as hard at our Cat Hops as I do!!! I APPRECIATE YOU ALL SO MUCH!!! THANK YOU for making our Hop so fun and successful. I want to thank you all for the very lovely comments you have left for me on my blog and on your own posts during the Hop. I do work hard to make it fun for everyone and I am so glad you enjoyed it. What I could not have envisioned when we first started, though, was how our Hops would develop into a community of caring friends sharing our love of cats. That has been the most rewarding thing about the Hops to me. I think many of you feel that sense of community, too. This is a unique and very special quality of our Hops that I don't see in other hops. Thank you all for participating in that community!! I highly value the feedback you give me about our Hops: your favorite parts, least favorite parts, my hits and my misses on the Daily Games, how easy or hard it is to play along, etc. With that in mind, I have made a separate post HERE where you can give me some detailed feedback and rate our Hop.I would be honored and most appreciative if you would take a few minutes to comment over there. And now on to the prizes!!! Weren't you just overwhelmed by the generosity of all our amazing sponsors???? I am so humbled and grateful for their support of our Hop!!! We are very privileged to be part of such a kind and giving group of people that make up the papercrafting industry. THANK YOU, SPONSORS!!! I wish I had a prize for each and every one of you! Maybe some year I will have that many sponsors!! But I am thrilled to announce that for 71 signed-in participants, I have 44 total prizes. How impressive is that???

The link-up for projects is closed, but YOU CAN STILL COMMENT TODAY. Comments close at 11:59 pm Pacific, Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019. (Remember, half the prizes are awarded to commenters!!) SIGN IN HERE(required to be eligible for prizes) and then go to the Main Hop Page where you will find the projects linked-up to comment on.
Daily Games on each of the daily posts are still open for commenting and linking up to enter for those prizes, too!
Hi, Friends......
I can't believe we are done with the Cat Lovers Hop for this year!!! We ended up with a total of 281 entries...it looks like a few more than that, but some entries were deleted early on with the assigned numbers staying the same. WOW!!! You all have outdone yourselves with kitty cat creativity!! I am thrilled to pieces with all you have done!!! THANK YOU!!
Before we go on..... We want to express our deep sympathy to Leigh Snaith-Brunton and Val Snaith who lost their dear family kitty, Mango, this week during the Hop. Mango was the inspiration behind many of Leigh's stunning cat images and their spectacular pieces of art. All of us grieve with you at the loss of this beautiful and beloved cat. 💔
How are you doing on commenting????? Remember you can leave comments all day today (Oct. 27, 2019), through 11:59 pm Pacific. With all the awesome projects linked up, I am glad for that extra day! How about you? Half of our awesome prizes will go to random commenters that are SIGNED IN HERE, so you will want to leave as many comments as you have time for.
Also, remember there is a special prize for one of you lucky commenters who manages to make it through the entire list by tonight!!Link up your name at the bottom of this post if you manage to comment on EVERY post to be in that drawing!! No, you DON'T have to comment on your own projects, but it makes me chuckle when you do!! Ha.
NOTE: Some of you might not have accounts at all the platforms that hoppers have used to post their projects..and so are NOT able to comment on those projects. That's okay....I am making an exception for link-ups that go to FB, IG, or Flickr and maybe one or two other troublesome platforms. Please comment on those projects if you possibly can, but if you can't because you don't have an account there it will not count against you for this prize. If you are having trouble commenting on a project or two, just make a note of it in the comments, please. Thanks!!
Special allowance also is being made for California Hoppers who are undergoing a Public Safety Power Shutoff because of your extremely high fire danger. If that affected you this weekend and caused you to be unable to finish commenting, please email me ASAP and I will include you in the draw.
And.....how is Janis doing on commenting, you might wonder.....???? Well, I got off to a good start this week with my comments, but fell behind by about 50 projects...and there I remain. At least that number is reasonable. I think I can finish up today. Yay!!
I admit to being slow to visit each project. I like to take my time as I work through the link-up, reading each post, laughing (and sometimes crying) at the cat tales, and enjoying each project. You have taken a ton of time on your entries and posts...and I don't want to miss a thing!!! You guys work as hard at this hop as I do and deserve my full attention to your projects. Thank you so much for the time and effort you have put in.
After all the gates are closed on the Daily Game link-ups and commenting....it will take me a few days to get all the winners run with random.org. But I will be posting that list as soon as I can, so be watching for it! I hope to have the winners list posted here on Wednesday, but we'll see how the number crunching all goes!
Hasn't our 2019 Cat Lovers Hop been fun????? THANK YOU soooooooo much for all your excitement and participation. I wouldn't be doing it, if I didn't get such positive encouragement from all you cat lovers out there!! You have made 2019 the best year ever for our Cat Lovers Hop!!!
That's all for now. I'll let you get on with your commenting, and I will see you in a few days with the Winners List!!! Yay!!!
Remember: If you managed to comment on all the projects in the Hop (with the above exceptions), you may put your name in the link-up below to be in the draw for a special prize.
I can't believe it is already Day 6. Where has the week gone???? TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO LINK UP PROJECTS!!! Despair not, though, because you can still COMMENT (on projects and the Daily Games) THROUGH TOMORROW!!! Comments close at 11:59 pm, Sunday, Oct.27, 2019. Yes, you get an extra day to catch up on your commenting...especially for those last-second projects that get linked up near midnight tonight!! :) Tomorrow's post will be a Wrap-Up Post and will have a link-up for you to enter if you have heroically managed to comment on every single project!!(You marathon commenters must have a much faster internet connection than mine is here in Idaho. I am still trying to catch up!!)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DAILY GAME TIME!!!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Daily Game is generously sponsored each day by Ike's Art!!! Ike is another returning sponsor who has been kindly offering her digital art for the Cat Lovers Hops for 5 years in a row. Many thanks, Ike!! 🖤
Please take time to visit Ike at these social media spots: Blog, Store, and Facebook Group. Don't forget to Like, Follow, Share, and Comment with a big "THANK YOU for sponsoring the 2019 Cat Lovers Hop at Her Peaceful Garden!"
Ike has graciously designed a fabulous new set of digital images for prizes for our Daily Games.......her brand-new Mood Cat digital set with interchangeable faces to add to the cat image. How fun and creative is that??!!! She is generously providing a set of these to a lucky winner of the Daily Game EACH day of the Hop. WOW!!!
Ike was really sweet and sent me a set of these super-fun digis. For my last card of the Hop, I used the complete cat image.
You can find out more details about this card HERE.
Hope you enjoyed my cat cards showcasing Ike's new set this week. Don't you wish you had it? Well, GOOD NEWS!.....Ike has a set of these to give to a winner EACH DAY OF THE HOP, but you have to play in the Daily Game AND put your name in the Linky below!!! NOTE: PLEASE PLAY THE DAILY GAMES EVEN IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE IN THE DRAWINGS FOR THE DIGI PRIZES.
Not all of you use digis and have indicated that to me when you SIGNED IN. I hope you will still participate in the Daily Games. You do NOT have to participate in the digi giveaway to answer the Daily Game question that lets us all get to know each other better. If you DO want to be in the digi prize drawing, be sure to link up your name each day that you participate!
REMEMBER.....you must link up your name in the linky tool at the bottom of each post to be in the drawing for the digi prizes.
DAY 6 GAME: Are your cats friendly with each other...or are they territorial and have no friends except for you?
I'll start.....
It is said that girl kitties are "catty" and not likely to pal around with other cats, while boy kitties (esp neutered ones) are more relaxed and often will eat and sleep with other household cats. I think this is generally true. I have the "cattiest" girl cats one could ever imagine.
My top cat in the house has always been a female who swats and hisses pre-emptively whenever another kitty is too close. We have a saying in our house...."She got too close and had to swat."....meaning that even though it was the top cat who walked close to the other cat, top cat still swatted. So unfair. So catty!! Jetta is my current top cat in the house, but I have several other girl cats, too, and NONE of them get along with ANY of my other cats. They are sooooooooo naughty!!!
My boy cats are different story..... Marshmallow and Alexander are total best friends.... inseparable and sooooo cute together! Marshy actually has had two other companions in the past that have both passed on, and one of them was a girl, Suzie, who was a social misfit in my cat tribe. I think Suzie really wanted to be friends with other cats (which shows you how odd she was!), but had such a strange way about her that all the other cats thought she was seriously weird!! Simple and sweet Marshmallow also was initially put off by the way she would suddenly rush over to him and let out one of her piercing shrieks a mere two inches from his face. (Yes, that's really how Suzie would greet other cats...ROFL!!! No wonder they didn't like her!) But eventually he accepted her and the two of them were constant companions until she died.
I dearly wish all my cats would be lovey-dovey with each other. I adore seeing photos where a family has 5 cats and they are all snuggled together peacefully. But it just never has been the case with mine. How about yours?
This is how to play the game to be eligible for the prize drawing: 1. Make sure you have SIGNED IN HERE to be eligible for prizes. 2. Leave a comment. Perhaps you have ever only had one cat at a time so you don't know if yours would get along with each other. Just leave a comment and say that.....or tell us about some cats you know that are friends (or NOT). 3. After you finish your comment: if you want to be in the drawing for the prize, fill out your (own) name in the link up below. This doesn't have any thumbnails so no photo needed! You don't even need a blog!!! This is for everyone!!!
NOTE: The Daily Game link ups will be open the entire duration of the Hop, including the extra day for comments. Entries need to be in by 11:55 pm Pacific, Sunday Oct. 27, 2019 to be eligible for the daily prize. So you have more than just today to comment and link up. I realize that not everyone has access to a printer or likes to use digis, so I am still keeping the link up gadget to make sure the digi prizes go to winners who can use them. But I am hoping EVERYONE will participate in answering the questions whether they are putting their name in for the prize or not.
Okay, now it is your turn!!
REMEMBER: Link your cat-themed projects over on the Main Hop Page. (Please use #2019CatLoversHop on social media!!) This link-up below is just to enter the drawing for the Daily Game after you have commented with your Kitty Roll Call. Thanks!!!
Okay....now get those last projects finished and posted because TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO LINK UP PROJECTS!!! But you will still have through tomorrow to finish up your commenting.
Thank you sooooooooooo much for being a part of the 2019 Cat Lovers Hop. Your excitement and participation has been such a joy! Tomorrow we will have a Wrap-Up Post, so I will see you then!!
It is Day 5 and have you seen how many projects are linked up??? It has been so much fun hopping around with you this week. I love taking my time reading each post, enjoying and admiring your beautiful stories and projects. Keep in mind that tomorrow (Saturday, Oct. 26) is the LAST DAY to post projects, but you will still have Sunday, Oct. 27 to finish leaving comments.
I am always so impressed when reading the generous comments left on each other's projects. The friendly nature of our hop really shines through!!! Thank you for that. You make me so proud of our participants. 🖤
Did everyone enjoy the Daily Game yesterday? In case you missed it, you can still join the fun by making up a short piece of "Cat Poetry". What a Hoot!! Everyone did such a great job. They were all fantastic....showing great insight into the complexities of
life with cats, LOL...
I was particularly impressed with the pieces by a few international "hopper-poets" who speak English as a
second (or even third or fourth) language. I knew it would be a major challenge for them, but their poems were totally awesome!! Thank you to Arianna Barbara and Fiki for being brave and giving it a try. Hope to see a few more of you try it, too!!
Remember....you only have through tomorrow night (Sat., Oct 26) to link up projects HERE, but you still have all through Sunday (Oct. 27) to finish commenting.
Ike kindly shared a set of these super-fun digis with me and I used my favorite of the entire series for today's card....the "Total Stinkeye" face. Bwahahaha.....so RIGHT for cats!!
(The designers of this cat paper pack didn't quiiiiiiiite get the sentiment right, so I had to make a correction by crossing part of it out!! Ha. The Stinkeye expression and the EMPTY food bowl say it all. That "Best Cat" bowl just cracks me up!!! lol...)
DAY 5 GAME: Do you have a favorite "celebrity" cat?
As
we all know, cats are hugely popular these days. This has given rise to
a number of cats being widely known all over the world through
advertisements, FB and blog posts, and memes.
I want to mention
and give honor to several of my favorites who sadly passed on in the
last year, but whose influence will be felt for many years to come.
1. Newton - The iconic ginger tabby, inspiration for the name and illustrations of Newton's Nook Designs,
Newton
just passed this last weekend. You can read their FB post here that was put up just a few hours ago. He was 18. I knew he was in very fragile
health, but I am heartbroken for Jen and Jeff....especially since they
had so recently lost their other kitty Hobbes, too. (I originally had this Celebrity Cat Daily Game planned for Day 6.....but as soon as I heard about Newton I switched it to Day 5 and placed Newton at the top.)
Hobbes
2. Hobbes - Many of you know that Jen and her hubby, Jeff, from Newton's Nook Designslost their Hobbes kitty a few months ago. Hobbes was the long-time snuggle buddy of the real-life Newton. Our hearts go out to them during this very sad time of losing two kitties so close together. 💔
Grandpa Mason
3. Grandpa Mason - You might not be familiar with this old feral fighter
who was terminally ill with only months to live when he was humanely trapped and
given emergency care. Battle-scarred and wary, the story changed
abruptly when he was introduced to some tiny foster kittens.
Astonishingly, he survived and thrived for nearly three more years. He helped raise numerous litters of orphan kittens until just a few weeks ago when he passed away. 💓
Tardar Sauce (Grumpy Cat)
4. Tardar Sauce (Grumpy Cat)
- Probably the most famous cat in the world, this diminutive cat became
internationally known for her sour expression. She was actually a very
sweet kitty, according to her owners, but a congenital condition caused
her frowny look. Complications from a urinary tract infection claimed her life at age 7 . :(
Do you have a favorite one or two? Perhaps one of these or a different one you might introduce to us?
This is how to play the game to be eligible for the prize drawing: 1. Make sure you have SIGNED IN HERE to be eligible for prizes. 2. Leave a comment telling us if you have a favorite celebrity cat. 3. After you finish your comment: if you want to be in the drawing for the prize, fill out your (own) name in the link up below. This doesn't have any thumbnails so no photo needed! You don't even need a blog!!! This is for everyone!!!
NOTE: The Daily Game link ups will be open the entire duration of the Hop, including the extra day for comments. Entries need to be in by 11:55 pm Pacific, Sunday Oct. 27, 2019 to be eligible for the daily prize. I realize that not everyone has access to a printer or likes to use digis, so I am still keeping the link up gadget to make sure the digi prizes go to winners who can use them. But I am hoping EVERYONE will participate in answering the questions whether they are putting their name in for the prize or not.
Okay, now it is your turn!
REMEMBER: Link your cat-themed projects over on the Main Hop Page. (Please use #2019CatLoversHop on social media!!) This link-up below is just to enter the drawing for the Daily Game after you have commented. Thanks!!!
Only two more days in our hop! Tomorrow (Saturday, Oct. 26) is the LAST DAY to post projects. So get those neglected cat stamps inked up to get another card or two linked up HERE!!! You still have through Sunday, Oct. 27 to comment on projects and play in the Daily Games. Yay!!!
