DAY 3 GAME: Kitty Limericks, Haiku, Couplets, or Short Free-Form Poems
Cat Poetry seems to be a popular Daily Game topic for the last couple of years, so I am doing it one more time before I retire the topic.

It might seem a little scary at first, but please don't be intimidated! Anyone can make up
something about cats. Haiku are easy and follow a 3 line, 5-7-5 syllable form.

I'll go first. I did a couple of haiku.......
This first one is inspired by our Mistopheles, my 2021 Cat Lovers Hop Badge Kitty. As I explained in my Kitty Roll Call...he has an adorable habit of running in front of you 7 or 8 feet and dropping to roll and roll, hoping you will catch up to him and pet him. It's so cute and sweet....esp since he is so round and roly poly!! He's our Stop, Drop, and Roll kitty.

Siamese are fabled to have been bred to be palace guard cats in ancient Siam. This next haiku alludes to that historic occupation.

Last year one of my haikus was about how our dear exotic and beautiful Siamese Perdita (sadly, in memoriam) would diligently watch over the new grandbaby from the back of the couch.
Here is last year's:
The Baby is here.I will crouch near and guard him.Baby will be safe.
After Perdita died, the responsibility of guarding the Baby seemed to fall to 11 yr old Othello (our black Siamese X) He took over that job....albeit reluctantly. So here is my haiku about him for this year:
Perdita is gone.
She left Baby in my charge.
I'm too old for this.
Okay....I KNOW you can do better than I did!!! So be a sport and give it a go. Even just a line or two is fine. :)
