Not all of you use digis and have indicated that to me when you SIGNED IN. I hope you will still participate in the Daily Games. You do NOT have to participate in the digi giveaway to answer the Daily Game question that lets us all get to know each other better. If you DO want to be in the digi prize drawing, be sure to link up your name each day that you participate!
(This is another great topic from Helpful Hopper, Christi, who is a veritable cat fact encyclopedia!!! Here's what Christi says about this topic: My friends know that I know A LOT about cats; I’ve read a ton of books on them, mostly trying to figure out their behavior. My brain is full of random cat knowledge, so I want to know...Do you know any random cat facts?)
I'll go first.....
As I have mentioned...at our house, we really like Siamese cats (and especially Siamese X) and we have learned quite a bit about them....of course it helps that my hubby is a veterinarian! ❤One interesting thing about Siamese is that their eyes tend to be "wired" differently than most cats. Instead of the nerves of the eyes crossing over to the opposite side of the brain, Siamese are prone to having less of that crossing. Their eyes have more connections wired to the same side of the brain. The result: they have crossed-eyes...to compensate.Crossed eyes used to be seen quite frequently in Siamese. A lot of that tendency has been bred out now, but there is still a higher percentage of the "same-sidedness" in Siamese than in other breeds.
This is how to play the Daily Game to be eligible for the prize drawing:NOTE: The Daily Game link ups will be open the entire duration of the Hop, including the extra days for comments. Entries need to be in by 11:59 pm Pacific, Wednesday Nov. 3, 2021 to be eligible for the daily prize. So you have more than just today to comment and link up. I realize that not everyone has access to a printer or likes to use digis, so I am still keeping the link up gadget to make sure the digi prizes go to winners who can use them. But I am hoping EVERYONE will participate in answering the questions whether they are putting their name in for the prize or not.
1. Make sure you have SIGNED IN HERE to be eligible for prizes.
2. Leave a comment with your Kitty Trivia. I am really looking forward to reading these!
3. After you finish your comment: if you want to be in the drawing for the prize, fill out your (own) name in the link up below. This doesn't have any thumbnails so no photo needed! You don't even need a blog!!! This is for everyone!!!
Okay, now it is your turn to amaze your friends and confound your enemies with your cat trivia.......and get those last projects finished and posted because TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO LINK UP PROJECTS!!! But you will still have through next Wednesday, Nov. 3rd, 11:59 pm Pacific to finish up your commenting.
REMEMBER: Link your cat-themed projects over on the Main Hop Page. (Please use #2021CatLoversHop on social media!!)
Thank you sooooooooooo much for being a part of the 2021 Cat Lovers Hop. Your excitement and participation has been such a joy! Now get that last project linked up and finish leaving your comments and next Wednesday, Nov. 3 will be the Wrap-Up Post. I will see you then!!

I don't know if that fits the question. But my cat had a wildcat grandfather, and in the spring he rode down from the mountains to the village and fertilized ordinary kittens. Now I have beautiful Sasha.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the great fun. Hugs Danka
Of course I was straight on to Google:)
ReplyDeleteDid you know a group of cats is called a Clowder?
If you killed a cat in ancient Egypt, the Punishment was death!
Weeeell, I had only learned a few days ago that Cheetahs dont roar like lions and tigers, they actually meow (along with other kitty sounds) and purr like domesticated cats - only louder!! I listened intently and its really cute! Well, a loud cute!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards from Karen and Alex!! And wow again on all the sponsors, you rock Janis!
I have kitty that do same thing with toilet paper.
ReplyDeleteOh last day!? noooooo!
thank you sponsors!I never saw that stamp set from Sunny studios!
Looks so cute!
thank you Ike for sponsoring daily games! you are amazing!
thats so adorable card that Alex made! I have siamese and I didnt know that about them!
I just learned that cats should not eat onions!
I learn that because Coffee like to eat spring onions...
Onions can make your cat extremely sick, and even prove fatal if they aren't treated immediately. Your cat can suffer from onion toxicity because these plants cause hemolytic anemia, hematuria, or Heinz body anemia—all of which break down the red blood cells in your cat's body.
so dong let them eat onions !
One of our ferals, Spot, has one yellow eye and one blue eye! This is called heterochromia and is fairly common in cats that possess the gene which makes them white. He is primarily white with a few dark gray and black spots (hence his name). Cats with heterochromia supposedly bring wealth and prosperity to their owners! ;)
ReplyDeleteFeast for the eyes! Both are superb showcase by Karen and Alex!
ReplyDeleteThanks to all fab sponsors for the generous prizes!
One interesting thing I found out is that cats secretly like dogs. Some of them have dogs as their best friends. They also like mice. No, I don't mean to eat.........The House Mouse mice wouldn't cotton to that. Tom and Jerry were good friends, well kinda. Okay, so I don't know much about cats but it makes for fun reading right? I think I told y'all about my teddy bear yesterday. He knows a lot more about cats than the rest of the family. His fur and their fur cancel each other's fur out so that neither is allergic to each other. Must be nice. [Bunny]
ReplyDeleteI found this out today: A cat’s brain is biologically more similar to a human brain than it is to a dog’s. Both humans and cats have identical regions in their brains that are responsible for emotions. Isn't that interesting?
ReplyDeleteI found this at Cvillecatcare.com- 101 amazing cat facts:
ReplyDeleteKittens in the same litter can have more than one father. This is because the female can release multiple eggs over the course of a few days when she is in heat.
It is called heteropaternal superfecundation!
I've had a lot of fun this week, Janis! Thank you so much for the hop and all you do! Thank you to another group of awesome sponsors today - I will be heading around to express my thanks and will be checking out that sale too! I will also head over to visit Karen and Alex to thank them for sharing their talents as guest designers for the hop - their cards are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat's an interesting fact about Siamese cats - I did not know that! For my intersting fact, I confess I had to Google it because my brain is not working well today. Here goes: Males are more likely to be left pawed, while females and more likely to be right pawed- some are ambidextrous. Who knew? Not me! Google knows everything.

ReplyDeleteThis is the nurse coming out in me: humans have 34 vertebrae whereas kitties have 53. That's why kitties are so flexible and can mold themselves into such odd shapes, like when they're in boxes.
ReplyDeleteI just have to share this: I have seen the Broadway musical "Cats" 14 times!!! No, it's not a typo...LOL But, did you know that it's based on T.S. Eliot's poems called "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats? My son has that book.
Thank you for all your efforts, Janis. It was such fun. Have a lovely weekend. Hugs xx
NOTHING about cats is trivial!🤣
ReplyDeleteLOL D.Ann! Hey, we've missed you this year. Hugs.
DeleteHi Ann!!!! So good to see you!!! HUGE HUGS ~ Christi
DeleteGreat cards from Karen and Alex!
ReplyDeleteI learned that a plant called the peace lily is very toxic to cats! Bought one and so glad I researched it before putting it out where Coco could get to it!
cats with extra toes are polydactyls and also called Hemmingway cats as Ernest Hemmingway had polydactyl cats.
ReplyDeleteOops, forgot to mention that our Ralphie is a polydactyl .
ReplyDeleteMaine coons have water-resistant fur! Figured this out after trying to teach Catapult not to get on the kitchen counters. We would squirt her with a water bottle, but she simply didn't notice. LOL
ReplyDeleteFun fact I have witnessed in Japan: Cats are absolutely adored and people will stop and play with cats they see on the streets. There is a whole shopping district in Tokyo dedicated to cats with cat statues on roofs and around buildings so one never knows what is a real cat or not! The area is full of lots of happy kitties that are well looked after and loved!
ReplyDeleteOne interesting fact I found about cats came from the emergency vet clinic when my cat, Bailey, was bitten on the face by a rattlesnake. Apparently, cats are less affected by their venom than dogs are. It has to do with the ability of their blood to clot. It's still important to get your cat to the vet immediately, for treatment however.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for another amazing Cat Lovers Hop Janis. I know you went the extra mile this year, after your whole family being sick, and you didn't miss a beat. Although the prizes and sponsors are always a plus, it's the lovely comments and project shares from other participants that make this hop so special. Thank you also to others who stepped in as guest designers, and especially to the generous sponsors. You are all fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI always look forward to you hosting this Cat Lovers Hop and to know everyone who participates. I do see familiar names each year but this year has too much happening that I am unable to comment on everyone's creative makes. Cant really understand Kitty Trivia so will skip this. Pardon my poor English.
ReplyDeleteCat Trivia - Frequently cats stare with their mouth hanging open because they have an extra organ that tastes scents in the air.
ReplyDeleteI was fascinated to read about Siamese eyes - that's amazing :-)

I know that cat, the one shredding the paper roll and she lives at my house! What is it about paper rolls, even paper towels with my cat, that makes some cats just go nuts? We keep the bathroom doors closed at our house and have all learned to lock the door when we're in there as a sign to everyone else that it actually IS occupied. I dread the day when the felines learn to open door knobs. :-D
ReplyDeleteTrivia - Did you know there was an old wives tale that cats should never be allowed in the same room with a new baby because they would jump into the cradle and steal the child's breath? I remember my dad telling me about that one when my first child was born. I was amazed at the foolishness of 'old time' people and he laughed and said it was believed by many folks as late as the mid-1940s, including his own mother!
I have a sad one. I recently read that stray cats have a life expectancy of about 3 years. I was really surprised to read that.
ReplyDeleteMy comment just disappeared so trying again...
ReplyDeleteLove today's card inspirations, thank you Alex and Karen for your wonderful projects! And I learned some new things about cats by reading the comments here!
Here is my trivia that most of you probably know.
Cats have whiskers so they can feel if they will fit into tight spaces. I learned this when my then 3 year old cut our cat Thomas' whiskers. Yes, they grew back but he did look funny for some time :-) Poor kitty!!
Thank you so much for another amazing Cat Lovers Hop Janis; I love it.
ReplyDeletehere are some interesting fats:
Cats are believed to be the only mammals who don't taste sweetness. Cats are nearsighted, but their peripheral vision and night vision are much better than that of humans.
Cats are supposed to have 18 toes (five toes on each front paw; four toes on each back paw).
Cats can jump up to six times their length.
crafty hugs xx
When cats jump they always land on their feet, they can twist their body to make that happen. CarolG
ReplyDeleteWhile outdoor/indoor cats tend to live up to 8 years, poor feral cats only live about 5 years, but a healthy, inside only cat can live to 20 years or more!! :) Thank you Janis for the shout outs and I am thrilled to be able to help :) I'm ready for next year, so let me know :)
ReplyDeleteTortoise shell cats are usually female. If it is a male they are usually sterile. They are called torties for short.
