May Rudolph Days - 1st Day of Christmas

Hi, Friends.....

Quick post for Scrappy Mo's May Rudolph Days.  Pulled out a bunch of G45 odds and ends and made a collage background with some inked dry embossing.  Added gold doilies, photo corners, and bow for some holiday elegance.  Hope you like it!

Thank you for stopping by.  Hope you are having a lovely day today.

I Hope You Feel Beautiful Today - Craftartista's 4th Blogaversary

Hi, Friends......

I am here with a pretty card I made for dear Mia's 4th Blogaversary over at Craftartista.  She not only has a challenge, but some lovely blog candy for each of the participants!  So sweet and generous!!

I used Mia's gorgeous Mandala #26 for my card.....one of the many beautiful Freebies on her blog.  I colored the mandala with Spectrum Noir markers and added white gel pen highlights, Wink of Stella sparkle (not really visible in this photo), and Nuvo drop accents.

Other supplies used include:
Unity - "I hope you feel beautiful today" from I Hope You Feel Beautiful
Versafine Ink in Smokey Gray
Darice - Stripes (5"x7") embossing folder - retired
Solid cardstock

Thank you for taking a look at my card.  Congratulations to Mia on her 4th Blogaversary!!  You are the sweetest!

In Sympathy with Imperfect Gold Butterflies

Hi, Friends.....

Do you ever have old supplies that you've hoarded for a little too long and they no longer work right?  I hope I am not the only one that does that!!  Well that happened to me with a product that was included in a lovely manufacturer's prize.  They were Christmas motif adhesive transfers that you could smooth onto cardstock and then coat with glitter, etc to make shiny, shimmery holiday designs.  Sounded like such a fun idea that I hoarded them for several years (hangs head in shame) and over time the adhesive oozed into unrecognizable amorphous blobs in the packages.  :(  :(  :(

When I rediscovered them recently, I had an idea that they might not work properly so I already had a back-up plan!  Ha.  I pressed Nuvo gilding flakes over the blobs to see what would happen.  It was gorgeous!!  Then I die cut butterflies from the mess.  LOVE!!!  I adore the arty imperfect look.

For some reason, though, the butterflies were still tacky.  Hmmm....what to do?  I dusted on some coordinating colors of Perfect Pearls that would hopefully deactivate the traces of adhesive.  It helped, but I was not satisfied.  Okay....enough of that.  I knew one fool-proof way to take care of this problem for good........clear embossing powder!!!  As we all know, embossing powder maddeningly clings to *anything* that is the least bit sticky or oily or wet.  I dragged my butterflies through my container and zapped it with my heat gun.  SUCCESS!  And as a bonus there is a bit of glossy sheen added besides.  Yay!!

Supplies used include:
X-Cut - Small Butterfly die
Tonic Studios - Nuvo Gilding Flakes
Clear embossing powder
Ranger - Perfect Pearls Pigment Powder
Darice - Damask embossing folder

EK Success - Image Tree:  Card Set stamp set (retired)
Versamark ink
Ranger - Gold Superfine Detail Embossing Powder
Tonic Studios - Nuvo Crystal Drops

My stock of sympathy cards was getting a bit low so I combined this with an appropriate sentiment to have on hand.  I hope it doesn't look too fancy for sending condolences.  With the arty look of the butterflies, I think it works.  What do you think?

Hope you liked my card today.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  I very much appreciate the time you take to visit and leave such nice comments.  Have a lovely day.

Welcome Spring

Hi, Friends......

I am here with a spring card to share with everyone for the Stamplorations -Things with Wings Linky Party.  I made it a little while ago, but it is new to my blog.

A long time ago I die cut a bunch of these bird on branch pieces from patterned papers.  The negatives were way too pretty to cut up for other things, but they sat in my stash literally for years!!  I uncovered them some time back and made this cheery spring card.  I backed it with scraps of gold foiled cardstock and mounted it on a kraft card base.  LOVE!!

And here's a shot at angle to show off the golden gleam a little better:

Supplies used include:
Sizzix - TH Alterations - Bird Branch die (retired)

Waffle Flower - Welcome Spring
stamp set
Versamark ink
Ranger - Gold Superfine Detail Embossing Powder

Negative scrap from patterned paper

Scraps of foiled and solid cardstock

Sequins from stash

Hope you liked seeing my card. Thank you for stopping by today. You still have time to enter the fun over at Stamplorations! Hope to see you there.

April Card Chain Challenge Reveal

Hi, Friends......

Have you ever participated in the Card Chain Challenge?  I have been playing along for a number of months now.  It's so much fun sending and receiving lovely cards from new friends.  Even though I get them mailed off just fine, I can't seem to manage getting the cards blogged on here!  Arrrgh...crazy LIFE!!  This month I am determined to get my card blogged in time for the reveal!!!  :)

Each month we are given a bunch of options for colors, sketch, theme, products, and techniques so there is a lot of freedom on what kind of card you make.....you can use one or more of the options.....as many as you want.

The April themes were:

Colour Palette Option

(Exact matching is not required.)

Sketch Option
(Orient as desired.)

Theme Options: Small Furry Animals/Funny/Friendship

Product / Technique Options:   Die Cut/Paint

I chose the color palette (jade, lavender, and walnut), small furry animals (hedgies are sort of furry...lol), funny, and die cuts.

I used  a couple of NBUS products.  The super-adorable Hedgehog stamp and die set was part of a humongously generous prize package from Holley Barnhart.  (THANKS, Holley!!!) The leaf frame die was part of prize from Kat Scrappiness.  It is my new favorite...I love it so much!!  (THANKS, Kat!!!)  This card went to Linda W. in MN on the Card Chain.

I wanted to use something for texture on the little hedgehog.  I found a scrap of burlap covered paper in my stash that was perfect.  I rubbed my Distress Ink pad over it to darken it.

Supplies used include:
Kat Scrappiness - Foliage Frame A2 die
Pink & Main Scallop Waves die set (retired)
Recollections - Hedgehog Lookin' Sharp stamp and die set
Clear Dollar Stamps - Elegant Accents Tag Frames (retired)
Versafine ink - Vintage Sepia
Distress Ink - Walnut Stain
DCWV glitter cardstock
Scraps of burlap paper, and patterned paper
Serendipity Stamps - Mixed Wood-Grain Sequins (retired)
Spectrum Noir markers
Sakura Glaze Gel Pen

Hope you enjoyed seeing my card.  It was so much fun using that little hedgie!!  🦔

You still have time to sign up for the May Card Chain Challenge.  I hope to see you there!!
