Hi, Friends....

I am here with one last entry into the Winnie & Walter 4th Birthday Bash challenges....which all close today!! What a great month celebrating my own ATC birthday along with making cards and projects to celebrate W&W's BD!!! Thank you, Shay, for making February a real celebration month!!!

This is another "scraps and strays" card using some lovely stamped images that were sent to me quite some time ago in a little happy mail package from Karen Franciola (Thank you!!). I think the images are Mama Elephant, but I am not sure. The DCWV patterned paper panels were scraps from my stash. I fussy cut the heart and the sweet little giraffe and colored them in pastel shades with my Spectrum Noirs.

It's another "Scraps and Strays" card.....where I used one of my sparkly molten backgrounds that has been sitting around in my stash for several years and a stray piece from a Winnie & Walter freebie. Twine from my stash
For Background:
Darice - Snowflakes and Flourishes embossing folder
Distress Ink in Black Soot - for inking the inside of the embossing folder before putting through Big Shot.

Versamark Ink brayered over entire background
Various embossing powders (solids, metallics, and glittered) for the background

Winnie & Walter - In a Word: Happy Cutaway die
DCWV Mercury Glass Stack scraps

Hi, Friends......

I'm still catching up with blogging the projects from my recent card-making frenzy. Here's one I made for a young gal in our church who likes horses. I got my Graphic 45 - Off to the Races collection out and used it for the first time. I love being able to make quick cards using one of their cut-aparts as a focal panel. By matting and layering the printed sheets, I get a wonderfully coordinated card in a short amount of time! I even made an envelope in a coordinating color to go with it. :)

Supplies used include:
Graphic 45 - Off to the Races collection
Core'dinations kraft cardstock
Sheet of turquoise paper from my stash for the envelope.

Hope you are inspired to get out your Graphic 45......(I know you hoard it just like I do!!!)  I'd love to see your fabulous and quick cards, too! Thank you for stopping by!

Hi, Friends......

Here's a fun kitty card that's been waiting with my others that I am trying to get blogged.  I wanted to make sure I got an entry into Ike's Show Us Your Pussies Cats Only Challenge.  This month's theme is Furrything Goes/Love.  Awwww....I love all cats!  Even those with an attitude!!

I totally love the colors on this one. The background is from my stack of watercolor marker "refill water" sheets. So much fun!!!

Supplies used include:
Inkadinkadoo - Catitude stamp set
Versafine ink in Onyx Black
Clear embossing powder
Pink & Main Scallop Waves die set for curved side of stitched panel
My Favorite Things Die-namics - Stitched Square STAX die set for straight sides of stitched panel

Hi, Friends.....

Welcome to the final week of my ATC Birthday Party!!! This is my actual Birthday Week....Tuesday being the actual day! :) This is why I love celebrating all during the month of February....because it can culminate in my BD which is nearly at the end of the month. :)

Thank you for all the fun ATCs you have been entering. I totally LOVE them all!! I am thrilled to say that I already have received a wonderful ATC in a little BD package from my crafty pal Gail in Norway (photo at bottom of this post) and I know several others are waiting until the end of the challenges to send me an ATC or two, also. I am soooooooooo excited to add to my collection of ATCs with some of your fabulous creations!!! (Remember it is NOT required to snail mail your ATC to me to be in the prize drawings.)
So on to this final challenge theme for WEEK 4:

"AND THEN.....CHOCOLATE!!!"

Oh, yummmmmmmmy....I do love chocolate!!
Janis' chocolate favorites:
1. Favorite variety: milk chocolate over dark chocolate every time!
2. Favorite cake is German chocolate....ONLY with the homemade ooey-gooey coconut and pecan icing....none of that stuff from a tub that looks and tastes like glue. (I am only guessing, there...lol!!!)
3. Favorite candy bar: Kit Kat (naturally) but Heath is a close second....and Almond Joy....and Snickers....and PB M&Ms.....and Reese's PB cups.....and Rolo....and Twix.....and....and....and.... oh, my goodness...make me stop!!!
4. Favorite ice cream: Mocha almond fudge
5. Favorite cookie: Homemade chocolate chip with walnuts...but I love OREOs, too!
6. Favorite sundae: Hot fudge
7. Favorite milk shake: Hot fudge with extra malt
8. Favorite brand: Lindt
9. Favorites in a box of chocolates: English toffee, caramel, bordeaux, maple, pecan/caramel, all of them. :)
10. Favorite Add-Ins: Toffee, nuts, caramel, dried fruit, malt, mint.
11. Other chocolate favorites: Classic Almond Roca, Lindor Truffle balls, Malt balls with REAL milk chocolate covering.
Oh, dear....I think I have gained 30 pounds just reading over this delectable list of my chocolate favorites!!! My wise hubby gave me several lovely gifts for Valentine's Day, but only one chocolate bar....a scrumptious one with hazelnut crunchy add-ins. (It lasted nearly a week unopened, but only about 15 minutes opened!! Ha.)

Here is the chocolate ATC I made to share with you. It has chocolate chip cookies and a box of chocolates on it....and some OREOs in the background. :) Sorry I couldn't get a decent glare-free photo.

So............now it is your turn to make a chocolate-themed ATC. It can be chocolate in any of its many forms. (Except NOT as a fat 60-year-old lady!!  Ha!!!)  But you can use a chocolate cupcake, chocolate candy bar, chocolate chip cookie, etc.....feel free to get ideas from my favorites list above!!

Not sure what an ATC is???? Have questions about the Rules and Guidelines for my ATC Challenges? The answers to all those questions may be found on THIS POST.

Thank you so much for the wonderful ATCs you have made so far. Remember that there will be a prize randomly awarded to one participant in each of the four weekly challenges plus one for the blog badge giveaway....5 prizes total. So be sure to post my ATC BD blog badge in your sidebar and participate in each of the weekly ATC theme challenges for the best chance of being drawn. You can enter the badge giveaway and any of the weekly challenges until Saturday, 11:55 pm Pacific, March 3, 2018.

Now.....I want to show you the lovely BD surprises I got in the mail from Gail (Ionabunny)!!!  She sent me the super-fun Mer-cat ATC she made for Week 1 PLUS a Mer-cat stamp!!  Also this furrrrrabulous Cat-ifer Columbus BD card.  I wish my photography were better.  Totally doesn't do justice to this amazing card!!  THANK YOU, GAIL!!!!

Remember this is the FINAL week to enter the 4 weekly ATC challenges and the Blog Badge Giveaway. Everything closes Saturday, 11:55 pm Pacific, March 3, 2018.

Thank you for indulging me with my crazy ATC Birthday celebration idea!!! I hope you have had fun. I can't wait to see your chocolate-themed ATCs!!!

Hi, Friends......

I am here with a pretty card in soft greens that I just love. Again, this is made from all scraps and strays that were already in my stash. Even the shimmery ribbon was a leftover strand that was too long to throw away!

I used Julee's sketch from the February Viva la Verve Challenge, reversing sides and putting a different panel on top. But I kept the main idea. :)

Products used include:
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Audrey Cutaways die set (scalloped rectangle)
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Katharine Cutaways die set (tag)
Spellbinders - Heartfelt Creations - Raindrops on Roses die set
Sizzix - Branch with Leaves die
Verve - Scripture Medley 2 stamp set
Versafine ink in Vintage Sepia
Distress Ink in Bundled Sage
Scraps from stash
Core'dinations kraft cardstock for base

Hope you enjoyed this card. I thank you so much for visiting my blog and leaving your encouraging comments!! Hope you will join in my ATC Birthday challenges going on all during February. Details are at the top of this post!! Have a great week.

Hi, Friends.....

Can you stand one more valentine????

Valentine's Day somehow sneaked up on me this year!!  Fortunately, I had this embossed background leftover from last year and only had to add the twine and put it on the card base to send this to my Dad.  I also sponged distress ink around the edges and on the embossing in a few places where the folder had slightly chewed up the patterned cardstock.

I think the distressing and the deep tones looked manly enough for Dad.  He's always more interested in the homemade cookies I include in his packages than in the cards I make, anyway! :)

Supplies used include:
Serendipity - Heart Scroll stamp and die set
Darice - Swirl Background embossing folder
Elmer's - Painters Markers in gold
Distress Ink in Walnut Stain
DCWV Scraps
Jute twine from stash
Core'dinations cardstock for card base

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you are having a lovely week!!

Hi, Friends......

I am here with a fun birthday card to share. Okay...be honest and tell me.....Am I the ONLY one who still has some pretty "bubble wrap" backgrounds leftover from Darnell's challenge last year?????  This technique was a ton of fun.....even though not a single one of my backgrounds turned out like it was supposed to!!!  lol...

Being the mad alchemist that I am....I've never been one to let strange and weird results deter me.  So I plunged headlong into a crazy "bubble wrap and reinker" frenzy.....making a ton of them. As a result, I still have quite a little stack remaining in my stash. The Scraps and Strays challenge (that's what I call it!) over at Winnie & Walter seemed like the perfect opportunity to get them out again. :) I selected a pink bubble wrap background and teamed it with other stash scraps and sequins for a card that makes me happy just looking at it!!

Products used include:
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Katharine Cutaways die set
Winnie & Walter - In a Word: Happy Cutaway die
Winnie & Walter - In a Word: Happy stamp set
Distress Ink in Picked Raspberry and Walnut Stain
Glossy Photo Paper
DCWV Mercury Glass cardstock scrap
Core'dinations cardstock
Sequins from stash

I really love how this card turned out and might make more of this design in other colors sometime!! Thank you for stopping by!!

Hi, Friends......

Mmmmmm....yummy hot cocoa with whipped cream and a sweet minty candy cane on a very chilly Idaho evening!! I just love that there are Christmas challenges all year round. It gives me wonderful motivation to be making my holiday cards ahead of time and a great excuse to use Christmas memes! :)

Here's another "Scraps and Strays" card I made using a leftover cocoa image from the Winnie & Walter Freebie: Daily Grind Collection Vol. 1 - Holiday Mint.    I even had the stray sentiment floating about in my stash and layered coordinating scraps together for a fun and festive card!! Yay!!

I drew in some of the layers of whipped cream with a Distress Marker....very daring of me!!  lol... and also put a layer of Wink of Stella over it, but you can't see the shimmer in the photo.  :(

Products used include:
Daily Grind Collection Vol. 1 - Holiday Mint
Winnie & Walter - Sketchy Thoughts stamp set
Versamark Ink
WOW! Embossing Powder - Opaque Bright White Regular

Hi, Friends.......

Welcome to Week 3 of my ATC Birthday Party!!! Thank you so much to all of you who have entered Artist Trading Cards in the first two weekly challenges! I have loved your kitties and chickens. Everyone's entries have just been fabulous!!! Remember that each Monday in February I'll be announcing a new theme that pertains to me or something I love, but you can still play in the previous challenges, too!! All the challenges and giveaways close on Mar. 3, 2018.

The ATC challenge theme for week 3 is:

"Adorable Teapot Collection"

I have loved tea for a long time........even before I loved coffee! Hubby and I enjoyed herbal teas (tisanes), in particular, long before they were popular. Back in those days (late 1970s - early 1980s....remember I am turning 60, so I AM that old!!!), even before we were married, we were scouring the health food sections of stores to find any herbal teas at all. Some of our favorites were among the early flavors of Celestial Seasonings: Mo's 24 and Pelican Punch. Tell me if you have ever even heard of those!!! :)

Soon, friends and family were giving me teapots.....and a small teapot collection began brewing. I have more that are not in the photos below, but these are some of my favorites.

This was originally a bookshelf and is way too tall for my teapots, but hubby wanted them to be on display for me.  <3

I also have this little display case with a few of my kitty mugs and some of the other kitty things I have collected along the way. There's even a kitty wood-mount rubber stamp. I have a duplicate in my craft stash.

I apologize for only having one teapot ATC made to share with you. I wanted to do white embossing on one of my marker refill water backgrounds for a soft look. I used a cute and very old teapot stamp from my stash....one of the first rubber stamps my dear MIL ever gave me!

I added the sentiment and little heart from Elizabeth Craft Designs - Coffee & Tea stamp set (sadly discontinued) and the little pair of tea cups from Stamplorations - Eat, Drink, Be Merry stamp set (retiring, only a few left). I sponged Distress Ink in Wilted Violet around the edges and splattered with some water.

Arrrrghhh.....this looks like a giant teapot-shaped spaceship!!  (sigh) Kind of like Elon Musk's Tesla roadster-turned-spaceship that is in space right now with its mannequin driver.  (LINK)  Some people have toooooooo much money!!  lol...

So............now it is your turn to make a teapot/tea themed ATC. I would love to see a teapot image on your ATC, but a tea cup or tea bag/tag will be acceptable. Please, no coffee themes for this challenge. I love coffee, but this is TEA ONLY. :)

Not sure what an ATC is???? Have questions about the Rules and Guidelines for my ATC Challenges? The answers to all those questions may be found on THIS POST.

Thank you so much for your participation and all the super ATCs you have made so far. You can enter any of the weekly challenges until March 3, 2018.

Thank you also for your sweet comments on my ATCs. I know mine are pretty basic compared to many of yours.....but I am having a lot of fun making my few to share with you. I can't wait to see your tea(pot)-themed ATCs!!!
