65th Wedding Anniversary

Hi, Friends......

I am struggling to get this card blogged because of my injured hand.....sprained my fingers when I fell and bent three fingers completely backwards trying to catch myself. YOWCH!! Talk about a hand that is painfully swollen and black and blue!!! Ugh. I don't recommend it.

A very special couple at church is celebrating their 65th Wedding Anniversary this weekend. WOW.... SIXTY-FIVE YEARS together...what a blessed milestone!!! So.....despite a messed up hand, I just had to make a card for them. It had to be simple because of my injury, but I love how it turned out.

Sorry I can't dig up links to the supplies, but I used some American Crafts glittered numbers and puffy hearts, DCWV paper, and Sizzix dies for the gold frame.

Hope you enjoyed seeing it and I hope they like it!! Thanks for your thoughts and prayers for my hand.

Christmas Toys for Kids - Rudolph Days

Hi, Friends.......

UGH....I am typing this with an injured hand.....

(2 badly sprained fingers plus a 3rd one that is also likely sprained....still not sure there isn't something broken inside the hand.....and it happened on a weekend so, of course, I didn't go to the doctor...sigh)
.....so please forgive errors and lackluster conversation in this post. Crafting was a trick, but typing with these fingers is even worse!!!!! OUCH.

Background is repurposed used gift wrap tissue decoupaged onto kraft cardstock. The red frames for the images are cut from a repurposed used red envelope.

Used MFT Sketch #439

Supplies used include:
Various small Christmas stamps of toys, etc from stash (some Hero Arts)
Versamark ink
Red embossing powder
My Favorite Things Die-namics - Stitched Square STAX die set
My Favorite Things Die-namics - Stitched Oval STAX die set
Spellbinders small frame dies
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Katharine Cutaways die set
Serendipity - Merry Christmas sentiment
Mod Podge Matte finish

That's about all the typing I can handle for this post. I have one other post still to do. Ugh.... Thank you for stopping by. Say a prayer for my hand if you think of it, please! Thanks!!

For a Special Mother - Lavender Garden

Hi, Friends......

Squeezing in a late evening card.....and hoping all the ladies out there had a nice Mother's Day! Even you gals who don't have kids of your own have a huge influence on the young people in your circles. So I am honoring ALL ladies today with a special note of appreciation for the many things you do for those around you.

I made a pretty card with a DCWV Chateau Lavender patterned cardstock panel. I love the restful look of this stack on kraft. I think it looks esp nice with a touch of vintage style ribbon and a sprig of die-cut foliage.

Supplies used include:
Mother's Day stamp from my stash prob from dollar bin at a craft store
Versafine ink in Toffee
Panel from DCWV Chateau Lavender stack
Verve - Sprightly Sprigs die set (retired)
Ribbons and shimmer cardstock from my stash
Core'dinations/Darice cardstock for card base

Hope you liked this card. Have a lovely Mother's Day!!!

Kentucky Derby Party Invites

Hi, Friends......

I am here to share a super-fun project I did for a friend. She was off to the races at the beginning of the month.....her first time to travel to the Kentucky Derby. But back in January, she had a Kentucky Derby party so some of us could come over, eat, and watch the movie "Secretariat" together. I had the Graphic 45 "Off to the Races" collection and offered to make invitations.

Things have been so crazy the last few months that I never got them blogged. When I saw Dar and Diane were having a Kentucky Derby Hat inspiration board on their challenge blog, I knew I needed to hurry while there was still time!

Here you can see the front of one of the invitations.......no two were alike. You can see the inside of another in the background. It was so much fun mixing and matching a couple of different Graphic 45 collections....(Cafe Parisian and Off to the Races).

Here's the entire group of 12 invitations. (You can click on the photo to enlarge it if you wish to see them in more detail.) My friend loved them, by the way!!

Supplies used include:
Graphic 45 "Off to the Races" and "Cafe Parisian" collections
DCWV Cardstock

Hope you enjoyed this set of invitations. It was really fun to make. Hope my friend had good luck on whichever horse she put her $5 on last weekend!! LOL...

Cup of Love - Happy Birthday

Hi, Friends......

I am here with one more card for tonight. I used one of Julee Tilman's wonderful coffee digi images from back when Verve was still up and running. HOW I MISS VERVE!!!!

Does anyone remember Add a Little Dazzle craft metal sheets????? Do you still have any of these lovely pieces hidden away in the back of your stash??? I have quite a few sheets in different colors carefully hoarded away, since it is not made anymore. :(

Well, I threw caution to the wind and snipped a very tiny piece off the edge of one of my pink sheets to die cut some hearts for this card. I hope to get brave in the future and use my craft metal sheets every once in awhile.....no guarantees, though! Ha.

Supplies used include:
Verve Stamps - Love From Me digital stamp set (retired)
Distress Markers for coloring
Lawn Fawn - Hang in There stamp set for sentiment
Versafine ink in Majestic Blue
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Audrey Cutaways die set
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Katharine Cutaways die set
Add a Little Dazzle craft metal sheets (retired)
Doodlebug - Mini Doilies
Core'dinations/Darice Cardstock

Hope you enjoyed seeing my card and appreciated getting a rare glimpse of my craft metal!! Hahaha.... Thank you so much for stopping by. Enjoy the hop!!

Happy Birthday, Pretty Lady with Blossoms and Butterflies

Hi, Friends......

I am here with a springy butterfly card to share. I fell in love with this particular piece of DCWV patterned paper years ago.....prob the reason I purchased this stack!! Pretty pieces like this are so handy for making quick cards. Here I layered the background, added an embossed sentiment, ribbon, and butterflies for a simple but lovely card.

I made another very similar card with white and silver ribbon. Which card do you like better??? I prefer the first one with more pink. :)

Supplies used include:
Unity Stamp Co. - "Happy birthday, pretty lady" from Sabrina {fashionista}
Versamark ink
Ranger - Embossing Powder silver
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Audrey Cutaways die set
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Katharine Cutaways die set

Double Embossed Pink Butterfly Card

Hi, Friends.......

I am here with one more shaped card. This time it is a pink butterfly birthday card with double embossing. I love doing backgrounds like this where I dry emboss, coat the raised parts with Versamark ink with my brayer, sprinkle on embossing powder, and then zap with my heat gun. Magical!!

In case you are wondering how the pointy bottom of this card is supposed to stand up for display, I will show you the unfinished inside. Notice how I have cut off the pointy part of the back of the folded card base. That gives it a sturdy flat surface to rest on while  the front balances easily on that fancy point.

Supplies used include:
Sizzix - Fancy Labels die set
Darice - Ranunculus embossing folder
Versamark ink
Pink sparkle embossing powder
Winnie & Walter - Sentimental: Gift stamp set
Versafine ink in Onxy Black
Metallic butterfly sequins
Ribbon from stash
Core'dinations/Darice Cardstock

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you are having a lovely spring at your house. The fruit trees here are in full bloom and the hummingbirds are very, very busy working the feeders and the trees. Hummingbirds hungrily devour aphids and mosquitoes and other small insect pests, so I like to encourage them to visit my yard. :)

Country Kitchen Tea - Happy Birthday

Hi, Friends.......

I'm here to share a sweet and simple birthday card for the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

It's another circular card that I made with a scalloped die. I like this one for shaped cards because this creation can easily stand on a couple of the scallops that I position at the bottom of the project. One thing about shaped cards, though.....I certainly have a smaller canvas play on. I can't add nearly as much "stuff" to my card as usual. Eeek!!

I am very excited that I *finally* opened up some tea-themed wallpaper border paper that my daughter picked up at a thrift store for me a long time ago. It's been in my Coffee/Tea stash for ages and I am glad to use it here today. It reminds me of a sunny country kitchen....esp with these butter and sky blue colors.

Supplies used include:
Sizzix - Circles, Scallop die set
Cardz-TV - Potpourri stamp set
Versamark Ink
Blue Embossing Powder
Thrift Store Wallpaper Border Paper
Core'dinations/Darice Cardstock
Crinkle Ribbon from stash

Happy sunshiny spring!!! Thanks for stopping by on the hop.
