August Rudolph Days - Celebrate the Season

Hi, Friends.....

I am here to share a card for Scrappy Mo's August Rudolph Days. I am in the middle of preparing for my Cat Lovers Hop coming up in October (you can watch our sponsor list growing on the sidebar!), but didn't want to miss getting a card in Mo's fun monthly Christmas challenge.

Today I used one of my very favorite dies in all my collection: Poppystamps - Grand Pine Tree die. Love this sooooooo much. It is no longer available through Poppystamps, but I noticed several other online retailers still have it. It is GORGEOUS!!

I love that I can cut a snow-covered tree in white, a natural one in green, or a silhouette in black....or any other color that I want for my card. For this Christmas card I went for a snowy look. I cut my tree and snowy ground from the white space on a discarded commercial greeting card a friend gave me for crafting. Yay!!

I also stenciled some snow falling with my embossing paste. I tell you, this product is sooooo much fun to use. Why did I wait so long to start using it? I LOVE it!!! It's so fast and easy and dries in a snap.

Supplies used include:
Poppystamps - Grand Pine Tree die
Simon Says Stamp - Falling Snow stencil
Dreamweaver- Embossing Paste
Clearly Besotted - Modern Christmas stamp set (retired)
Versafine ink in Majestic Blue
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Katharine Cutaways die set
Pink & Main Scallop Waves die set
Scraps from commercial card and DCWV patterned papers
Core'dinations/Darice cardstock for card base

Hope you enjoyed this snowy card. Does it help you feel cooler in these last hot days of summer???? It's supposed to be close to 90 degrees here today, but the nights already have a bit of a nip to them and the cats are starting to get fat and grow thicker coats. Winter will be here before we know it!! Eeek!! :)

Stick It Down Guest Designer - Baby Card

Hi, Friends......

I am super-honored today to be a Guest Designer over at the Stick It Down Sketch Challenge Blog for August. In case you are unfamiliar with their challenges, they have wonderful monthly sketches for single- and double-page layouts....and, of course, for cards....my favorite. :)

Here's the fun August card sketch:

I am still in Baby Card mode, so I pulled out some long-neglected, but adorable teddy bear ribbon for the vertical strips. I used a die-cut sentiment and star and topped it off with a few soft and sweet baby blue pompoms. Awwww......

Supplies used include:
Winnie & Walter - In a Word: Baby Cutaway die
Winnie & Walter - Big Bang Confetti Cutaways die set
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Audrey Cutaways die set
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Katharine Cutaways die set
Scraps of DCWV paper and cardstock
Thrift store ribbon and pompoms
Core'dinations/Darice cardstock

A big thank you goes to Stick It Down for inviting me to be a Guest Designer this month. It was a lot of fun.

I hope you enjoyed my baby boy card. There are still several days to join in the August Sketch Challenges at Stick It Down.  Hope to see you there!!!

New Arrival

Hi, Friends......

I am back with another sweet baby card. I used one of my leftover Easter egg dye backgrounds with an adorable stamped and fussy-cut airplane image (from thrift store) that says "Baby" on it. The little plane reminds me of a mail plane ready to make a stop. I think it goes perfectly with the postmark look of the "New Arrival" stamp from Winnie & Walter. I just love this little scene.

Supplies used include:
Winnie & Walter - LS Exclusives: So Tweet with Evelin T Designs stamp set
"Baby" Airplane stamp from thrift store
Versafine ink in Blue Lagoon
Distress Markers for coloring
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Katharine Cutaways die set
W plus 9 - Tree Border die set
Pretty Pink Posh - Sparkling Clear Mix sequins
Canson - Mixed Media Paper
DCWV scraps
Core'dinations/Darice cardstock

Are you having a lovely summer?  Enjoy what's left of it!! The air will be feeling crisp before long.☺

Hope you liked my card. Thank you for stopping by today.

Baby Girl with Flowers

Hi, Friends.......

Whew....things have been busy around here! Lots of activities, scurrying around tending my garden and taking care of the produce, and our granddaughter has been here several times, including overnight, too.

No blogging has happened, but I do have several cards in queue to catch up with. I am also getting ready for the 2019 Cat Lovers Hop coming up October 21-26 right here on my blog. It's our 5th Hop and will be so much fun!!!

I have been in baby card mode because of that 3 Baby Sprinkle at church recently....so while my supplies were still out I made a few more to keep on hand. I had this scrap of Baby Girl paper in my box that I wanted to use, but it needed something added. I simply dressed it up with a bunch of pretty daisies layered with a few pink flowers that my crafty pal, Karen Ladd, sent me a long time ago. THANKS, Karen!! (I wonder if she even remembers these!! lol...) I love the delicate pastels......so sweet. Awwwww.......

Supplies used include:
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Audrey Cutaways die set
Petaloo flowers
Pink flowers from Karen Ladd
Scrap of ancient DCWV paper
Core'dinations/Darice Cardstock

Hope you like this super-easy but pretty card. Adding a mass of flowers can be a great way to use some of those odd pieces of patterned paper in your stash for quick cards!

Welcome Tweet One

Hi, Friends.......

Seems that it is baby season in our tiny little community here in Idaho. We have 3 (count 'em THREE) ladies expecting in our church. (This will nearly triple our attendance!!! Hahahaa..) So with all these babies coming in the space of a few short weeks of each other we are having a Baby "Sprinkle" at church for them.
(This is the first I have heard of a baby sprinkle.....is it called that because of water shortages? If you ask me, three babies is most definitely a baby SHOWER!!! But, whatever.... )

I checked my supply of baby cards and realized I better make another one or two. The current Winnie & Walter Color Challenge with mint, pink, and gray, had the perfect colors for little ones on the way....esp since we only know the gender of one of them!!!

I used the current Papercraft Challenges sketch for a guide, also:

Supplies used include:
Winnie & Walter - LS Exclusives: So Tweet with Evelin T Designs stamp set
Winnie & Walter - LS Exclusives: So Tweet with Evelin T Designs die set
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Audrey Cutaways die set (has scallops)
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Katharine Cutaways die set
Memento Ink in London Fog
Spectrum Noir Markers
DCWV scraps

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Hope your summer is going well. My garden is an absolute jungle. I nearly have to hack my way in with a machete to get to the yummy fresh veggies!! lol.... But I am NOT complaining!!! I have only been stung once so far this season.....so that's pretty good, considering how much foliage I am reaching between. Are you gardening this summer????

🖤
