Thank You Cards with Upcycled Gift Wrap

Hi, Friends......

Time to write thank you notes for all those wonderful Christmas gifts we received! I used more of the gift wrap pieces I scavenged from opening presents to make some simple thank you cards. I really love this teal snowflake gift wrap. As you can see, I am still trying to use up my 7-pointed foam snowflakes! Ha.

Here's a set from a different gift wrap piece.  I added a bit of ribbon to these.

Supplies used include:
Winnie &Walter - In a Word: Thanks Cutaway die - retired
Scraps of Gift Wrap
Scraps of solid cardstock
Dollar Store foam snowflakes
Ribbon from stash

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you are enjoying a quiet week after the excitement of Christmas.  I love having some down time to craft.  Stay safe and healthy!!

My First Christmas Card for the 2021 Season

Hi, Friends.....

I feel like I have been underwater for so long I almost forgot how to get crafty and make a blog post!!  But after Christmas I always have a surge of crafty motivation.....so heeeeeeeere I am with my first Christmas card for the 2021 season!!!  YAY!!!

Do you ever wish you could make use of some of that pretty wrapping paper tossed aside after gifts are opened?  At my house, it usually just gets burned after the festivities, but I always try to save some to make a few backgrounds for Christmas cards.  That's what I did for the card I am sharing today.

I chose some rich red and gold tissue salvaged from the trash pile and decoupaged it onto some scrap card stock.  The decoupage medium gives a subtle texture from the foam brush strokes and stabilizes the paper so it doesn't tear.  I added a beautiful die cut made from scraps on a dry embossed background for added texture.  Some gleaming gold photo corners give a tailored and elegant finish to complete the card.

Supplies used include:
Creative Expressions - Festive Collection Joy 2 pc die set
(retired)
Darice - Honeycomb embossing folder
(retired)
Royal Coat - Satin Finish Decoupage Medium
Scrapbook Adhesives - Photo Corners in gold
Scraps of tissue gift wrap
Scraps of solid cardstock from stash
Distress Ink - Walnut Stain for edges of tissue panel
Fun Foam from Dollar Store for under the embossed panel

Hope you liked my card.  I made three of them just alike to get me going on my Christmas stash for 2021!!  Ho ho ho!!

Thank you for stopping by today.  Have a restful time between the holidays this week.
