Sending You Thanks - Winnie & Walter

Hi, Friends......

I am here with another card to share for the Winnie & Walter December Color Combo Challenge. Love this gorgeous palette that Heather chose for us this month!! It was especially fun to work with the lavender in this inspiration board!

I always need thank you cards to send out to my thoughtful friends and family...especially after the holidays!  I went all flowery for this card....I guess the dreary winter winter has me yearning for spring.  :)  I have been hoarding (for years!) this lovely piece of K& Co. patterned paper with its delicious foiled turquoise elements. Oh, yum!!

I enjoyed adding a few lovely butterflies to flutter subtly amongst the blossoms, a little something extra for this simple card design. These are some of the fun little elements that are in the W&W Essentials Series die sets. LOVE!!

Supplies used include:
Winnie &Walter - In a Word: Thanks Cutaway die
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Katharine Cutaways die set (for small sentiment banner)
Winnie & Walter - LS Exclusives: So Tweet with Evelin T Designs stamp set (for small sentiment)
Versafine Ink in Majestic Blue
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Audrey Cutaways die set (for scalloped background and butterflies)
Tiny adhesive rhinestones (for butterflies)
Ribbon from stash

Hope you like my flowery card. I have one more using this same background paper that I will post soon, so see you in a few!!!

Noel with Perfect Pearls - Winnie & Walter

I took a short nap yesterday and when I woke up there were THREE cats on the bed!  <3
Hi, Friends......

I'm here with a pretty Christmas card to share with you that I made for the Winnie & Walter December Color Combo Challenge. Love this gorgeous palette that Heather chose for us this month!! The touches of blush and lavender are just exquisite with the blues.

I went super-shimmery by adding Perfect Pearls to an embossed background.  I brayered Tombow Mono glue over the textured piece so just the "hills" were sticky.  I let it dry for a couple minutes and then brushed on the pearly powders. Next I added more powder to give a delicate tint to the "valleys" of the embossing, tapping it gently over a scrap piece of paper to catch the excess.  Lastly, I misted slightly with water for a fixative. I haven't made a background like this for a long time and it was soooooooo much fun!! :)

Supplies used include:
Winnie & Walter - In a Word: Noel Cutaway die
Core'dinations - heavy duty white cardstock
DCWV cardstock scraps
Perfect Pearls Pigment Powder
Tombow Mono Multi Glue
Distress Ink - Faded Jeans
May Arts ribbon
Pretty Pink Posh - Sparkling Clear Mix sequins
Snowflakes leftover from an older Simon Says Stamp December Card Kit

Hope you enjoyed this card. I have a couple of others to share with you, too, so be sure to stop in again soon!! Thank you for taking the time to leave your sweet comments!!

Another Magical Fairy Card for the New Year

Hi, Friends......

Here I am with the second of the fairy cards I made for Mrs A. over at the Butterfly Challenge. Her butterflies were cocooned up for December, but they are about ready to emerge. Until then, her challenge is alive with fairies, elves, gnomes, and pixies....but this is the last day!!! Eeek....better get this blogged and linked up!!! :)

The Graphic 45 - Once Upon a Springtime is my go-to fairy collection.....so charming and enchanting!! This time I added some layered Prima flowers and did something super-scary. I gave the shimmering sheer ribbon of my bow a permanent wave by carefully warming it with my heat gun. Whew!!....I didn't scorch it. Love how it turned out!! However, I don't recommend this technique for the faint of heart or for those prone to burning themselves! :)

Products used include:
Graphic 45 - Once Upon a Springtime collection
Doodlebug - Mini Doilies
Prima - Wildflower Mix
Tonic Studios - Nuvo Crystal Drops (for some flower centers)
Brads from stash (for some flower centers)
Sheer ribbon from stash

Hope you enjoyed this second fairy card. They both were a lot of fun to make. Thank you for stopping by today. Happy New Year.

Starting the Year off with a Little Bit of Magic

Hi, Friends.......

Happy New Year to you! It is a chilly, icy morning here in Idaho....perfect for staying inside and crafting! :) Is that the way to start off the New Year, or what? YES! January is my favorite month of the year. Holidays are over. New fresh start to a new year and too cold outside to do anything. Crafting month!!! Yay!

The lovely Mrs A. over at the Butterfly Challenge has her butterflies temporarily cocooned up for the winter solstice....but, only temporarily.  Now that it is the New Year, they are almost ready to come back out. In the meantime, it is still fairy, elf, pixie, and gnome domain at her challenge blog....but this is the last day!  Eeeeek!  I better get my fairy cards that I made several weeks ago blogged!!! :)

Supplies used include:
Graphic 45 - Once Upon a Springtime collection
My Favorite Things Die-namics - Stitched Square STAX die set
Core'dinations Kraft paper
Ribbon, tulle, and sequins from stash
Flower from stash
Zig - Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to add shimmer and magic to the flower and around the edges of panels

Thank you for stopping by. I hope your New Year is off to a magical start!!!

JOY

Hi, Friends.......

I am here with one more Christmas card for this month's Winnie & Walter Rerun Challenge. This time Shay is featuring her Comfort + Joy stamp set. I don't have this particular set, so I am taking inspiration from one of the design team cards. I was especially inspired by the lovely cards by Lydia Evans HERE. I adore the color combo of the patterned background (she stamped hers but I took a shortcut and used patterned paper) and the great big JOY for the focal and sentiment panel.

I dry embossed my Joy die cut with a lovely new folder I received from crafty friend, Karen Ladd. (Thanks, Karen!!!)

Supplies used include:
Winnie & Walter - In a Word: Joy Cutaway die
Core'dinations - heavy duty white cardstock
Sizzix - Alpine Yule embossing folder
Scrap of DCWV patterned paper
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Audrey Cutaways die set (scalloped background panel)
Baker's Twine from a Winnie and Walter package <3
Silver sequins from my stash

This easy design can be adapted for any season or occasion with a different background panel and big word die. Love that!!

Thank you so much for visiting today and leaving your sweet comments. Best wishes to each of you for a lovely and crafty New Year!!!

Happy Holidays

Awww.....these kitties in the pic are sweet together.  I have a couple sets that are best buddies, but all the others are too jealous to even be civil toward each other!!  My cats are so naughty!!!  lol...

Hi, Friends......

Are you ready to ring in the New Year???? I sure am. Done with 2017 and on with 2018, I say. Well, before I am all the way ready for 2018, I have a couple of cards to share with you. They are Christmas cards which I will stash away for next year. I haven't been crafting much because of all the Christmas festivities.....and clean up afterwards!! My craft room was (and still sorta is) a complete mess!! lol....

I couldn't let the Winnie & Walter Rerun Challenge for this month go past without at least one or two more entries. This month Shay is featuring her Comfort + Joy stamp set. I don't have this particular set, so I am taking inspiration from one of the design team cards. I was especially inspired by the lovely card by Kelly Griglione HERE. I adore the greens and the sentiment strip of white embossed on black.

I found a green background in my stash of watercolor marker refill papers and used that with some snowflakes and my Winnie & Walter - In a Word: Happy stamp set for this card. You can't really see it in the photo (except on my black embossing), but I misted the panel with Goosebumps Clear Texture Spray for a glossy bumpy finish just for fun.

When do I ever get to use a shiny green snowflake???? On a green Christmas card, of course!  The other two snowflakes look black in the photo, but are actually highly reflective silver.

Products used include:
Winnie & Walter - In a Word: Happy stamp set
Versafine Ink in Onyx Black
Clear embossing powder
Versamark ink
White embossing powder
Goosebumps Clear Texture Spray
Pretty Pink Posh - Sparkling Clear Mix sequins
Snowflake sequins from my stash

Hope you liked my card in non-traditional holiday colors. Thank you so much for stopping in. I have one more card to share which I will be blogging shortly. Happy New Year!!!
