Scholarly Cat Birthday Card
Hi, Friends.....
Sorry for the long absence from my blog. I'm still not 100% recovered from being sick for a couple of weeks with some nasty bug that is going around plus we have had some challenging family drama and other just regular things....and my son celebrated a birthday!
He's a remarkable young man....very bookish and scholarly.....and never without Othello, his black feline companion, in his bookshelf-lined room. I am quite proud of my son and so thankful for him. So I wanted to make him a extra special birthday card.
I recently won a Stampendous gift card and found this Cattus Librum stamp, the PERFECT stamp to use for his card, which I heat embossed in black with clear powder on some parchment looking paper. I also used some delicious vintage papers from the new Graphic 45 Communique collection I won recently. (THANKS, Stampendous and G45!!!) (Hey, for once I used some G45 products before I had them long enough to say I was hoarding them! I really am trying to follow my "Hoard no more" rule this year.)
I even decorated the inside of the card!! Something I hardly ever do.
Other supplies used for this card include:
Darice - Crackle embossing folder
Distress Ink - Brushed Corduroy
Sizzix - Fancy Labels Dies
Versafine Ink- Onyx Black
Bits and pieces from some other Graphic 45 collections
I love how this card turned out and my son really liked it, too. :)
Thank you for stopping in today. I'm glad finally to be feeling up to begin making cards and blogging again. It's going to take awhile to be back to full strength, but this is a start!! :)
