Hi, Friends.....
I am here with my July Reveal for the Card Chain Challenge. Such a fun group to be part of!!
July's challenge theme options were:
Colour Palette Option
(Exact matching is not
required.)
Sketch Option
(Orient as desired.)
Theme Options: Summer / Snacks / Friendship
Product / Technique Options: Scraps / Fancy Fold
I chose the Colors and the Friendship theme. My card went to Linda in Michigan.
I had a background that I made from some epsom salt crystals dissolved in dyed water. I had made the colored solutions for a VBS kid craft and had leftover. Could I toss 'em??? No way!! lol... So I made backgrounds for me to use. This particular one had some of the colors of the challenge and I blended yellow around the edges for the color palette suggested. Love the crystalline structures that you get from this technique. I gave the background a coat or two of clear spray lacquer to help set the crystals.
The butterfly and sentiment are from a beautiful set I just received from Melanie over at the Double Trouble Challenge. (THANKS, Melanie!!) I absolutely love this gorgeous set!
Supplies used include:
CTMH Winged Masterpiece S2103 - SOTM March 2021
Versafine Ink in Crimson RedClear embossing powder from my stashDistress Ink in Mustard SeedEpsom salt background from my stashMixed Media paper
Hope you liked my card!! It was fun to use one of these arty backgrounds. I think the floral butterfly looks good against it.
Thank you for stopping by today. If you would like to join the Card Chain Challenge, the August sign-ups are still open for a few more days HERE. We'd love to have you join us!
Stay safe in the heat and storms, everyone. So far we are doing okay. We have had a few intervals of thunder in the last few days but thankfully no near strikes....and we even got some rain! YAY!! Still praying for safety from fires. We have a couple hot days predicted and then more t-storms. This comes with the territory, but our dry summer is putting us at more risk than usual. We do appreciate the thoughts and prayers.
❤
Janis

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, another beautiful background! I've never used the salt technique but after seeing the effect that you got, I think I need to buy a box of epsom salts and give it a try. You must have a treasure chest of saved backgrounds to inspire you.
