GIVEAWAY: Viva La Verve Sketch Biltz - #6

I have several alarm clock cats!  Two of them will just race around and howl until I get up.  My old lady Aliyah will trill and rub and sometimes nip any exposed body parts to get me out of bed.

Hi, Friends.....

I am back with my 400th blog post (YAY!!) and Post #6 for my big 11-Post Blog Blitz where I made 11 cards using the Viva La Verve Sketch 2. I have a triple giveaway going on celebrating my 400th post, and belated for my 2nd Blogoversary, and my birthday all during this Blog Blitz, so........take a look at THIS POST for details. Comment on any or all of my eleven Blog Blitz posts answering the question(s) for each post to be entered.

Here's the sketch that I used for these eleven cards that I am showing you in this Blog Blitz:

Back to the saga.......
So with coral out of my system, now I could settle down with some masculine colors, right?  Well....actually, no.  As I dug around looking for a few more corals to go with the ones on my desk, I found some orange scraps that looked pretty together.  Arrrgh.....I could tell already that a masculine card would have to wait until next time....again!  (sigh)

One fun thing about doing all these cards from the same sketch has been experimenting with different colors and color combos.  Although I do use complementary colors sometimes, I rarely do orange and blue.  Somehow this springy combination seemed right....especially with the flowers.

Oh, horrors....guess what I just this minute noticed.  I forgot to put a center on one of the flowers I used!  Ack.  I will have to fix that....but not in time for posting this.  Ha.  I guess I was so fixated on the crazy cock-eyed centers in the other flowers (those came that way...not my doing! lol...) that I forgot all about the blossom that didn't come with one.  Sigh...

Other supplies used:
Verve - Scripture Medley 2 stamp set
Distress Ink in Stormy Sky
Prima flowers
Petaloo flowers

Now for the Question for Post #6:
Have you ever posted a card with something missing?

That's all for now. Be sure to answer the questions on each of my Blog Blitz posts by 11:59 pm April 30, 2016 for lots of entries into my big Blog Blitz Giveaway! See you next post!

  7. Oooh, I love that orange and blue combo so much that I'll have to make one myself soon. As for the missing flower center, oh yes, I've done that more than once. I once made,, and posted a card, that was supposed to have a button center on the central flower element. Once I discovered it though, I added the button and reposted. It would have been a terrible mistake if I hadn't noticed the missing button because it was a specific use-a-button challenge! Did I used the word, "button" enough times in a row here?

  13. Ha! I have an alarm clock dog. Your orange scraps do look pretty together! Really love the burlap. Reminds me I haven't cracked open my burlap paper pad yet. Oh, I've left things off plenty of times and don't see it until after the photo is taken and I'm writing the post. Thanks for sharing your card in our April Showers challenge at Double D!

  14. I like the striking blue with the orange. You are certainly tickling my more vibrant side. Not exactly missed something off the card more like posted the retched post without the card in it. Thank goodness you bloggers are more attentive than me and alerted me PDQ!! hugs Mrs A.

  15. yes, a layout...it had lots of cricut cuts and one tiny piece was misplaced, i didn't notice it until I posted the photos. I was able to fix it but on my blog (and a blog hop at that) it is askew and it bothers me tremendously!

  16. Very pretty. I like the texture of the burlap piece.
I don't think I posted a picture without something but I did post I did post instructions that were missing the last step.

  17. Very pretty card today! I post cards with things missing all the time! I use a lot of tricks and shortcuts as a blogger that will look good for the photograph that I can always fix later if I decide to mail the card to someone.

  18. Woo-hoo ka-choo! Congrats on 400! I babysat a cat who would pull my eyelids open and peek in to make sure I was in there an hour before my alarm went off. Crazy alarm clock cat!

I like the pop of blue with those flowers! Yes, I've found oopses when posting that I didn't catch... I don't remember them, but I do remember the aggravation of taking another photo, watermarking and uploading it - MANY times! But I live with brain fog and my life is full of things I have to do over. lol!

  19. Love the colours you used on this one as well. I didn't notice the flower center until you pointed it out. LOL
I don't have a blog but I DO have a closed facebook page for my cards so my card peeps can see what I am making and yes, I have put a card or 2 on there only to see something after the fact. Then I have to finish it and retake another pic. to change it out once its finished. LOL

  20. I haven't ever posted a card with anything missing; however, I'm sure I have stamped a sentiment upside down or adhered a panel to the back of a card instead of the front!

  21. Another lovely card. I always have to tear apart the flowers and reassemble them if the centers aren't on straight. I don't glue anything on my card down until the very end and often there will be a piece that doesn't get glued. Everything looks fine on my desk, but then by the time it gets down to my photo studio, it's missing for picture time.
