Masculine #5 - Navy - Miss You

Hi, Friends.....

Here is my last installment for the MFP Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge - Masculine card with Navy Blue.  I stamped and heat embossed this sailboat image from the MFP Silly Shells stamp set.  (THANKS, MFP!!)  For some reason, it seems like a very sad and lonely image to me, so I made this into an ultra-simple Miss You card that I probably will send to my hubby some time when he is on a work trip.

As you might know, my hubby works out of "town" (I use the word loosely in a rural Idaho sort of way.....Ha!) and is often away.  I miss him terribly when he is gone, which is one reason I got started blogging.  If I had a stamp that said "Desolate without You", I would have used it.  All the white space on this card in stark contrast to the navy blue just seems to communicate that mood to me.  (Wow....I am really going to have to post a bunch of happy cards after this one!!)

Other supplies I used for this card include:  SSS Soft Navy Ink, SSS Soft Navy Cardstock, white cardstock from my stash, clear embossing powder, adhesive blue pearls.

That's all for now.  Hope you have enjoyed my series of Masculine cards using Navy Blue!

  1. I love this card - that image always grabs me. Definitely do another card and type out that Desolate without you sentiment for him - it just carries so much more meaning. Hugz!

  3. As a truck driver's wife, I know all about the feeling alone when he is gone. Especially since my daughters left home. Thankfully I still have my 2 boys and my 2 dogs so I at least have someone else in the house, especially at night. I love how elegant your boat looks. Great CAS card.

  4. Whew, that solitary boat is certainly lonely to the max. It's not just the plain background and the colors, but the fact that it has its sails down and is leaning way over....you have me practically in tears here Janis! I vote for sending this one to him on his next trip! (that Desolate Without You sentiment might make him feel too guilty and then he would feel like he has to buy you some stamping stuff....oh wait...go for it with the Desolate business!!)
