September Rudolph Days - Vellum Monochrome Happy Holidays

Hi, Friends.....

Ugh....I have missed the entire month of September due to Covid!!  I am feeling so much better...not sick anymore, but still taking a nap or two each day.  Hubby probably brought it home from work and our family all got it (except baby) but thankfully none of us ended up in the hospital, even with our underlying heart and lung conditions.  I am finally getting a little bit of my sense of smell I am hopeful that will return completely sometime!  :)

So I am squeaking in here, as usual, on the last day of the month with my September Rudolph Days card.  Sadly, last month dear Maureen was ailing and there was no Rudolph Days.  I hope she is feeling better now!

Do you have a box with odds and ends of Christmas supplies in your stash?  I know what you are saying....what do you mean "a" a single box???   Ha....I have several of them, also.  Each Rudolph Days I try to use something from that box and this time it was a couple of  vellum strips that I had dry embossed with Christmas borders.

This card had been on my mind for some time, but I couldn't decide what paper to use with the embossed vellum.  So I put the pieces over some black cardstock and fastened them down with washi tape.  Fastest card ever!  lol..  A couple of snowflakes gives it a little bit of dimension.  It's not a fabulous card, but I used something from my stash and I really like how this turned out.

Supplies used include:
Darice - Seasonal Border 3-pack
Snowflake and Scripty Washi Tape
Foam Snowflakes
Black cardstock

Hope you like this quickie card.  I think Black and White always look great for Christmas!  Thank you for stopping by today!!

  1. Yay!! When the notification of your blog post showed up in my email I nearly fell over in surprise. SO glad to see you posting, if only on the last day of the month. I was going to ask if the baby was able to escape getting sick, but I see he was okay, whew.
Love that cat meme, and couldn't stop laughing at the "peeled mouse", even as I shuddered. I've missed your quirky cat humor and your lovely cards. Black and white is always classic, and the embossed vellum is such a great way to use those little left over strips. Vellum and washi, all on the same card, deserves a gold medal! Welcome back Janis.

  2. Good to see you back and recovering. And what a great idea to use your Christmas Bits Box (yes, I do only have one - but it's so full the lid doesn't close) each month for Rudolph Day. I'm afraid mine is where stuff goes to when it knows it may never see daylight again. I must put that right.

  3. Stunning card and love the cute picture.

  4. A stylish card, many thanks for joining in with out A/G/Nature theme at Allsorts challenge this week.

Sorry you got Covid, know from my youngest son it takes time to shake it off.

  5. Great card, Janis. I never think to use black and white for Christmas cards, but yours looks really effective.
Sorry to hear you’ve had Covid. Hope you’ll soon be fully recovered. xx

  6. Dear Janis
Great to know you are recovering. Even I and my mother was positive but I worked and the only uncomfort I had was feeling weak. Other than that I was ok. My mother had symptoms till recently may be due to old age. Your card is beautiful and I want to try something similar with the stash I have. Tc Stay safe

  7. Woo whee, so glad y'all are feeling better.

    Lovely card. [Bunny]

  8. Welcome back and I'm so glad to hear your feel ok now!
Lovely card, so different and great way to use your stash!

  9. I love what you have done with your box of Christmas stuff - and yes, I have a big box of Christmas elements eagerly awaiting my attention as well! Janis, so sorry to hear that COVID paid you a visit. I hope you make a thorough recovery and soon feel much better! love, de

  10. I am glad you feel better, Janis. I was thinking of you.
I LOVE your beautiful Christmas card, my friend. Kisses!

  11. Oh no, Janis, I am so sorry you have been sick, but relieved to read you are feeling better. Sounds like you have really been suffering. I just prayed for you, for your complete recovery. I have not been crafting or blogging much lately but popped in to read about the Cat Lovers Hop as I remember it is held in October. I hope I will be able to play along, if I am up to it.
Your card is beautiful and it must feel good to use up those items from your box!

THANK YOU so much for taking the time to leave a comment. Your kind words encourage me so very much!!!

Have a lovely day!
