Doggy Sympathy Card

Hi, Friends.....

I am here with a pet sympathy card I made for some friends who recently lost their much-loved dog.  I know how pets can become members of the family and how hard it is when we lose them.  I hope this card will help them know that others are sharing their pain.

The journaling card that I trimmed for a focal panel and the strip of doggy stamps are from Graphic 45's Raining Cats & Dogs series. Of course, I love their cat items, but sometimes dog images come in handy. The sentiment is from my Paper Smooches - Feline Friends stamp set that contains some items that are useful for canine cards, too.  

Other supplies used include:

Versafine ink - Vintage Sepia for sentiment

Distress ink - Walnut Stain for inking edges of panels

Scraps from my stash for panels and mats.

Morning by Morning New Mercies I See

I managed to make another card for the Winnie & Walter Share the Love Week Challenges where we are invited to make cards inspired by the wonderful design team creations.





The designers used Winnie & Walter and Pinkfresh Studio Felicity products, but that wasn't required for us to participate.

I was inspired by two different cards this time.

First is Gayatri's card on this post. I love the white embossing on the vellum. I knew I wanted to do that on my card, too.

The other card that inspired me was one by Kate on this post.  I  absolutely adore the colors she used.

So, here's my take:

Since I can't bring myself to toss out my scraps, I was tickled to be able to use the partial sun on this card.  The other part was used several weeks ago in this card.  [Hey, it didn't even have to sit in my stash for a year. Maybe I am improving!!  :) ]

I was inspired by Kelly' card in this post.  I really picked up on the pink butterfly with the text beneath it.

Is it cheating to use Dollar Store products on your projects?  I hope not, because that's where I found this sweet fuchsia colored butterfly!  (And a ton of other butterfly products!  My butterfly box is stuffed full now and ready for any challenge Mrs. A tosses at us....except for Fancy Folds!  Eeek!  lol....)

Butterfly Drift on Black and White

I was inspired by Mayuri's card in this post.  I love her brightly-colored birdies on the black and white floral background.

I didn't have birds, but I did have butterflies and some black and white patterned paper that I used.




Here's my take. 

I apologize for the TERRIBLE photo.  Not only did one of the shiny silver butterflies reflect the orange shirt I was wearing, but the entire thing just did not photograph in focus.  Arrrgh.  That's why I am keeping the size so much smaller than I usually have on my posts. But it is what it is.... (sigh)

I love the beautiful spring colors and all the lovely bits and pieces she used. I call this a collage card, but I don't know the real name for it. It is waaaaaaaaaaay different than my usual style...but I wanted to try one. :)

House Mouse and Friends Birthday Card

Hi, Friends.....

You know me.....why enter a challenge early when you can "squeak" in with a last-minute entry?  lol...  So I made this fun birthday card using my Stampendous House Mouse - Gift for Kitty stamp that I recently bought.  So cute!!!  

This is the last day for entering the House-Mouse / Stampendous Challenge & Blog Hop where they ask us to use both a House Mouse image and a stencil technique. I used my Simon Says Stamp - Falling Snow stencil for a confetti background by "painting" (rather imperfectly!) through the holes with Distress Inks in Festive Berries, Blueprint Sketch, and Twisted Citron.  I think it just screams "Party!!"  :)

100th Birthday Card - Adapted from an old one I made a long time ago.....

Hi, Friends.....

I volunteered to make a 100th Birthday card for a lady who was a long-time member of our church but who now lives out of the area.  I knew I needed a large-format card so everyone at church could sign it.  I had some ideas in mind, but they kept reminding me of a card I made a year and a half ago and still had in my stash of cards.  So I pulled that one out and adapted it for this very special milestone birthday.  Do you ever do that?

Here's the original card from this post dated September 15, 2014:

Here's my adaptation:

I added glittery gold Thickers numbers over a vellum banner, colored on the backside with my Spectrum Noirs to match the other pink on the card.  I also added a loopy gold bow.  (Yah, I know....the bow is not the only loopy thing around here!  Ha.)  What do you think?  Should I have added more flowers?  I didn't want to draw too much attention away from the focal image, so I left it as is.

Hope this gives you some ideas on remakes of your own cards.  I could so relate to the kitty meme at the top....I can fix this...sorta.  lol...
