Hi, Friends......Be sure to look near the bottom of this post for info on my two giveaways that are just around the corner......*******************************************************************
I am back with a card that I have been wanting to post for awhile. When I saw Paulina's Cutting Edge Blog Hop I thought it would be a different sort of one to enter, but I hope it still qualifies!! This is my second entry into this hop, since I already made and entered a different card on Friday.
Did I mention that there are prizes galore for entrants and commenters??? You better run over there quick!!!
Her rules state that you must use at least one die cut, which I did. But what I used were a couple scraps from the Sizzix - Labels, Fancy die cut I had used on this Christmas card I posted a couple weeks ago:
I used the corner scraps from the red die cut in this card. |
I had the little ornate foiled corners that were the negatives of this cut still lying on my craft table hiding under things and generally making nuisances of themselves. Too pretty to throw away, but not of any immediate use, either......until I thought of making them into "photo corners"!! :)
I inked the edges of two of the corners with gold and teamed them up with some glossy and glittery DCWV Botanical Stack paper which is so gorgeous that it didn't need much else for embellishment.
Here's an angled shot to show it better:
I stamped and embossed the sentiment (discontinued from Clear Dollar Stamps) in red and mounted it up on kraft. I layered that with some glimmery Coredinations gold cardstock....corners cut with decorative scissors, not a die cut. A simple tiny rose (part of some lovely happy mail from Terri Scott ....THANKS, Terri!!) finished everything off.
Do you like it? I really love how it turned out. And perhaps best of all.....all the papers were scraps from other cards (...or failed attempts! Ha.) Yay!!! Love it when I can do that!!!
Hey, Everyone......Woo-hoo!!! I have five new followers!!! A total of 49, now, and so you know what is right around the corner......

Carole Robb Bisson of The Diamond Dragonfly is up next. Carole is the "Encouragement Coordinator" for the Word Art Wednesday Challenge Blog. I am brand-new to entering the wonderful challenges there, but already I received absolutely the sweetest comment from Carole on my entry. Seriously, how many challenge blogs have anything even similar to an "Encouragement Coordinator"??? Carole is perfect for this position and that's only one of the many wonderful aspects of WAW. On Carole's blog you will find breath-takingly beautiful cards and tags (which seem to be her specialty!) all inspired by the Word of God. Please stop by and take a look!! Thank you, Carole, for becoming a follower. Your support is a real blessing and encouragement to me. Here's the ginormous smile I get having you as a follower!!
:))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Linda T of LiveLongLaughHardEmailOften is next in line. Linda's blog says it is a little bit of everything. Thanks, Linda, for becoming a follower of my blog and of Twitter. Here is a ginormous new-follower smile just for you!!!!

Word Art Wednesday
Thank you for your kind words, Karen!! The gorgeous botanical paper came with that pretty gloss. I'm not sure if you thought I had done that myself or not. It's a lovely idea, though. I will have to try that, sometime, on some patterned paper!!! Thanks so much for your visit!
