Hi, Friends......
I'm here with a pretty card I made for a technique challenge at Inspired by Stamping: Watercoloring with Tombow Markers. I don't have any Tombow markers....but I do have a small set of Distress markers, so I used them instead. I often use watercolor techniques with my cards, but I really hadn't ever tried it like I saw in Joanna's awesome video.
I used the lovely hydrangea image from the Inspired by Stamping - Graceful Hydrangea set, a prize I chose from IBS. (THANKS, Joanna!!!) I stamped it with Versamark on watercolor paper and heat embossed it with Wow! Bright Opaque White embossing powder. I used my little set of Distress markers to color it using Joanna's technique. I really love how the flowers turned out, but I need to practice more with my sky background.
I stamped the word Hydrangea from the set with Memento - Tuxedo Black. Isn't that font with the flourish absolutely gorgeous???? I kept the card very simple to showcase the flower by matting it with blue and then putting it on a pink card base.
I am entering this card in the Scrappin Great Deals Mood Board challenge. I found their photos very inspiring. I love the pastel pinks and used them in my card.
Hope you enjoyed my card. Be sure to watch the IBS video if you have any questions about the process. Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

What a beauty of a card Janis! I'm going to have to check out her video to find out how you got that gorgeous effect with markers! Love everything about this and yes, that font is amazing!! Wouldn't this make the perfect Mothers Day card?!
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much, Karen!! I hadn't thought abt this as a Mother's Day card, but you are right. Great idea! My dear MIL has an April BD so it might get saved for her for that occasion or for Mother's Day. Thanks for the idea!

This is beautiful--I enjoyed this video too.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite flowers!! I love the way the soft colors and embossing combine to look like a wonderful watercolor :)
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. Beautiful watercoloring. Thanks for joining us at IBS!
ReplyDeleteThis really did turn out to be such a lovely card! I really like the soft tones and how you blended the colors so nicely. One of my favorite places to travel is the Oregon coast and I adore seeing all the hydrangeas in bloom. Your card made me think of them and your post was thoroughly enjoyable! Thank you so much for the inspiration and for sharing your talents with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
