Hi, Friends.....
I am back with Post #3 for my big 11-Post Blog Blitz where I made 11 cards using the Viva La Verve Sketch 2. I have a giveaway going on during this Blog Blitz so take a look at THIS POST for details. Comment on any or all of my eleven Blog Blitz posts answering the question(s) for that post to be entered.
Here's the Viva La Verve sketch that was my muse for this Blog Blitz. I love that this sketch has a couple of panels as elements. I have zillions of 3-1/2" strips in my scrap bags. These were perfect for those rectangles in the sketch. I cut them into 2-1/2" lengths. Perfect!
Well, I still had a pile of pink scraps on my craft desk that tended to the orchid hue. I decided to go ahead....get finished with pink...and then put the remainders away so I wouldn't have to contend with them while I try to make a masculine card. So what popped out of the crafty brew was a pretty pink and silver combo.
The sentiment is from the same set I have been using, Verve - Scripture Medley 2. This time I stamped it in Versamark and heat embossed it with Ranger - Embossing Powder in Super Fine Silver.
The scrap of white cardstock I used has some traces of Perfect Pearls Mist overspray from a previous project, but I kind of liked the effect so I used it anyway. This Blog Blitz is all about using ONLY scraps and derelict pieces in my stash. That matte textured piece and the shiny foiled background are from the old discontinued DCWV stacks: Handmade Paper Stack and Black Currant Stack. (Glad I bought an extra of that last one because all I have left of the first one is scraps!) Many (maybe most!) of the DCWV stacks on my shelves are discontinued, so I don't even try to make a link to them anymore on my Product Links page.
Now for the Question for Post #3:
Which scrap piece on this card has an imperfection that I ignored and used anyway?
That's all for now. Be sure to answer the questions at each of my Blog Blitz posts for lots of entries in my big Blog Blitz Giveaway! See you next post!

ReplyDeleteThe white scrap had some overspray on it, but it only added to the effect of the card!
Sweet card. Love how elegant the silver embossing is.
ReplyDeleteWow, I am still in awe that you made eleven cards for the blog blitz! I'm all about using up scraps so this might be something I need to do as well. This gorgeous DCWV foiled dot paper is something I would have a hard time cutting into but it looks perfect teamed up with the handmade paper. That silver edged ribbon reflects the silver embossing and really ties it all together beautifully. Your white scrap had some Perfect Pearls overspray on it, but I can't see it myself. I spent about 10 minutes peering at your card (with and without my glasses on) before I realized that you told us the answer in your post...ha!
ReplyDeleteAs always, your cat memes are entertaining me to no end. The expression on that kitty is priceless!
ReplyDeleteSuper card and I really like that sketch you used. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe cat picture had me in fits of giggles :-D xxxx
The white cardstock with traces of perfect pearls was definitely a keeper and looks great in here! I desperately need to have a blitz going through my derelict stash, but that would be dozens of cards. lol! As always, enjoy getting my giggles and grins from your memes. : )
ReplyDeleteI have always loved that quote, and your card looks gorgeous! Pretty and inspiring!
ReplyDeleteTake care!

Oh, I forgot to answer the question . . .I can't tell if there are any imperfections or not! If you hadn't told us in your post, about the perfect petals overspray, I certainly would never have found it myself! Beautiful card!
ReplyDeleteTake Care!

The answer is the white card stock which had perfect pearls mist on it and you decided to use it anyway. I love this card!
ReplyDeleteUsing up the white scrap of card with the perfect pearls mist on it was a brilliant idea and certainly doesn't look like an imperfection. On the contrary it complements the rest of the card . There endeth the answer to Q3. hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteFabulous card....just fabulous. Your card looks perfect to me!
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty papers these are..love the foiled one...oh and the white scrap with the overspray is the one you used anyway!!
ReplyDeleteThe silver really makes this card special. You used the white piece even though it had Perfect Pearls mist overspray on it.
ReplyDeleteVery nice card! Thanks so much for playing along with us over on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Janis, this is beautiful! I LOVE your idea of ONLY using scraps! This is a challenge we should see more of all across the board in the card making industry! I hate wasting ANYTHING and why should we when we love it so much and besides, I look at it as money saved to buy something else I HAVE to HAVE! LOL In answer to todays question, it was your white CS with the overspray!
ReplyDeletegorgeous card! I see no imperfections! you must have covered it up with another piece of paper! I love the embossed image, beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAlicia
I love the card! I must start using more of my scraps. I like that you used the white cardstock......even with its imperfection......which only adds to the uniqueness of the handmade card.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, it is the white card that has an imperfection, but does it matter?
ReplyDeleteLove your beautiful card. I think your over spray imperfection works in perfectly with your sentiment panel. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteCrafty hugs,
Dawn
