Hi, Friends.......
In July I joined the Card Chain Challenge where participants from all over the world sign up to make and send a card following one of several theme options to one of the other members. A handy, easy to follow info sheet and list is provided by our lovely hostesses, Gail and Jo, who coordinate the whole thing. 🖤
It is sooooooo fun!!
My card went to Suzanne Harkinson and I received this very lovely one from Elena Chamberlain.
THANK YOU, Elena!! 🖤 |
You can see all the fab cards that were exchanged HERE.
If you are interested in joining in, the signups for August are open until August 6th and can be found HERE. Hope you will join in!!
One of the themes for July was stenciling. I had been wanting to try the old stencil double glitter technique. I even had purchased a roll of the double stick adhesive for it. So one day when my granddaughter was here we did this glitter project, each making several backgrounds. Oh, my....oh, my.....the house looked enchanted with magical pixie dust sparkling everywhere. It was beautiful and messy!!! Just right for a grandma project with a 9 yr old. 🖤🖤🖤
This was the prettiest of my backgrounds and so I used it for my card for Suzanne. I used a NBUS "For You" die to make the sentiment from scraps, some Prima flowers, and some rose-gold foiled scraps for diecut foliage. LOVE!!! I chose sequins for the flower centers so they would be flat for easy mailing.
NOTE: I often use this retired set of Verve foliage dies in several sizes. It's great for mindlessly diecutting my odd-shaped scraps while I watch Netflix. The smallest of the dies doesn't require a very big scrap at all and also will fit easily between previously cut "holes" on a negative scrap. (Yes....I do save EVERYTHING! lol...) I sort the foliage cuts into small zip bags by color. Since I love to use flowers on my cards, it is very convenient to have a good selection of leaves on hand!
Supplies used include:
Lawn Fawn - Scripty For You die
Verve - Sprightly Sprigs die set (retired)
Prima Flowers
Sequins from Doodles Paper Playground - Sparkle Blend Hey Chickie
Artistcellar - JKB TEXTures 2 Series 4-stencil set
Glitter from stash
AJ Sign World - Double-sided Adhesive
Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Audrey Cutaways die set
White cardstock
Scraps for leaves and sentiment
Hope you enjoyed seeing my first contribution to the Card Chain Challenge. Remember there are still a few more days to sign up HERE for August. I hope you will join us!!
🖤
