This is exactly how my cats feel about our little grandson!! lol... |
Hi, Friends....
I am here sharing a fun card I made with some scraps that happened to fall together in one of my (many) scrap bags. I really love how the negative die cut looks with the pine, periwinkle, turquoise and aqua colors. I added some pale mint glittery stars from scraps to echo the dry embossing. What do you think? Is this unusual color combo too weird???? lol... (You can be honest! Well, maybe not toooooooooooo honest!!! Ha.)
Supplies used include:
Winnie & Walter - In a Word: Baby Cutaway die - retired
Winnie & Walter - Big Bang Confetti Cutaways die set - retired
Darice - Assorted Stars embossing folder
Assorted solid and glitter cardstock from stash
And now for a fun little item.....
Double Trouble has a Bonus YoYo Fun challenge just about ready to close....so I am hurrying to get this posted. One little extra they did was challenge us to find an old yoyo that was stored away somewhere and share a pic of the family playing with it. They have a great prize if they have at least 10 entries, but sadly hardly anyone rose to the challenge. No matter, I still decided to enter.
Here I present my little 7-1/2 month old grandson, Miles, playing with an old yoyo my kids had when they were growing up.
We never get rid of ANYTHING (ugh..), so I knew we still had one around!!! I actually knew right where to look and found two of them! Ha.
Hope you enjoyed my card and my yoyo picture!! Thank you for stopping by today.
❤
Janis

Janis, how smart of you to use the die cut negative! Most people just toss them, but they have a lot of potential (as you so well demonstrated!). I like your color combo,,, it catches the eye! Miles is adorable! Lucky you!!! Where do you live in Idaho? I live on the SW side of Boise! Thank you for sharing your card with us at Double Trouble for our "yo-yo" challenge!!! -Donna
ReplyDeleteWow, such great design!!! Really striking! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteYour grandson is ADORABLE!! :)
Using the die-cut negative is such a clever use of scraps! I tend to toss them, only saving a few. Great way to repurpose. Your grandson is so cute - especially with his yoyo. Thank you for playing along with us at Double Trouble #85. (And I truly appreciate your cute things about cats.)
ReplyDeleteGreat to use your negative due cuts, many times I might use them on the inside of my cards, or they go in my stash for a future card that never gets made. There is nothing wrong with your color choices, a great masculine look. And, oh, Janis your Grandson is so adorable and it made me happy to see you participated in our Special YoYo Challenge. I hope the yoyo is turned over to him in a couple years to bring back a great toy in his generation. Appreciate your participation.
ReplyDeleteGreat card Janis - love the colours as well as the super use of the negative. Clever you! I had a red and royal blue yoyo as a child. My Dad could do some great tricks with it - he always was a kid at heart. Used to 'vet' my comics by reading them first to be sure they were suitable for me. And, what's worse, I believed him!
