Hi, Friends.....
Can you believe it is Day 4 already??? The Hop is halfway over and look at all our projects!! There were nearly 120 fabulous feline entries when I last checked the Linky Tool. Way to go everyone!!
Also.....I happened to notice a few extra prize opportunities being offered by some of our lovely Cat Hoppers. Alex and Becca
have something special for Hoppers who comment on their projects....and
there may be others! Thank you, gals, for making our Hop extra fun by
doing this!!! ❤ (I have not had a chance to visit very many of the projects so if
any of the rest of you have blog candy on your Cat Hop posts that you want me to announce,
please send me a note and I will add you to this list!)
I also want to extend my personal welcome to each of our first-time Cat Hoppers.....so very glad you found us!!! I hope you new Hoppers can already tell what a warm and friendly group this is. Please make yourselves at home! ❤
Important note about the Day 2 Daily Game Link-Up:
Alert Hopper Ashley noticed there was trouble linking up for the lovely digital prize on Day 2. I took a peek and noticed that Mr. Linky was giving me an alert to contact their help desk. Apparently there is some problem and I am hoping they will be able to get it sorted. Fortunately, you have clear till Nov. 3 to link up if you want to be in that prize drawing. I hope the Linky will get fixed straightway and you others can join in if you also had trouble linking up!! Thank you, Ashley, for alerting me to this glitch and thank all the rest of you for your patience and understanding. ❤❤❤ (UPDATE: All fixed now. Yay!)
NOTE: When posting your projects on your blog, please remember to post the Cat Hop Badge also if you can. I know that isn't possible with other platforms like Flickr and IG, but Badge Kitty Mistopheles and I would really appreciate it when you can. Thanks!!
Just a reminder.....You must SIGN IN HERE to be eligible for prizes. Also, LINK UP ALL PROJECTS ON THE MAIN HOP PAGE by 11:55 pm Pacific, Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021. I have my 2021 Cat Lovers Hop Guidelines and FAQs in a handy tab just under my header at the top of each page.
Let's get started with the Day 4 festivities....

Purple Onion Designs continues to offer stamps in traditional red rubber to capture the fine detail that many of the designs contain. Red rubber inks up easily and will work with all types of inks on the market. Clear stamps traditionally do not capture the same type of fine detail as red rubber. They also can be difficult to use with certain inks. These two qualities of our red rubber stamps will give you the best stamped impression possible. The images are not available digitally. Purple Onion Designs believes in preserving the art form of rubber stamping.
PRIZE: Purple Onion Designs is generously offering TWO Prizes: Felix (Pirate Cat with Flag) and Francois (Pirate Cat in Boat).

Helpful Hopper, Christi, has another fun Daily Game Topic for us today!
Christi is another friend who emailed me out of the blue offering to help with the Hop this year. It was before I was even sick with Covid, but she just wanted to be of assistance....so sweet!! ❤I was in the middle of corresponding back and forth with all our dozens of fabulous sponsors and arranging prizes and asked her if she might come up with the Daily Game topics for me. She cheerfully accepted!!This chore might seem like a small thing, perhaps, but coming up with interesting, engaging games takes creative thought and consideration. Before long she had a wonderful list with lots of ideas for me to choose from!! It was such a help and relief to me. I am so grateful for her willingness!! Thank you, Christi, so very much!! Oh, and Christi is the one who suggested I ask NanaConnie to Guest Design...what a genius idea!! 💡

My cats are not into acrobatics or funny tricks, but they trick ME all the time. The outside ones who get to come in occasionally often clamor at the door this time of year to come inside where it is warm. They can tell by the squeak of the floorboards when we are going to the door to take something outside to the chickens or whatever. They race to the front or back door by running underneath the house!! A kitty will be near the window by the backdoor and either hear or see one of us going to the front door.....and as soon as you open that door, there is that SAME cat shooting through the door!! In seconds. They must have a racetrack underneath there! It is phenomenal how they can get there that fast. Little rascals!
This is how to play the Daily Game to be eligible for the prize drawing:
1. Make sure you have SIGNED IN HERE to be eligible for prizes.
2. Leave a comment with your Kitty Tricks. I totally love reading your creative verses!!
3. After you finish your Kitty Tricks comment: if you want to be in the drawing for the prize, fill out your (own) name in the link up below. This doesn't have any thumbnails so no photo needed! You don't even need a blog!!! This is for everyone!!!
Okay, now it is your turn!!
REMEMBER: Link your cat-themed projects over on the Main Hop Page. (Please use #2021CatLoversHop on social media!!) This link-up below is just to enter the drawing for the Daily Game after you have commented with your Kitty Tricks. Thanks!!!
That's all for today. Keep making those awesome projects and leaving those wonderful comments! Also...keep thanking our fabulous sponsors. See you tomorrow for Day 5!

Most of our cat's tricks were the opposite of funny (as in spraying all over my scrapbook papers and plastic containers in the craft room...even though they were ALL neutered). However, my Bailey always made me laugh when he stood on his hind legs, hooked his front paw over the cupboard door..and slowly backed up until he had it open. Then he would grab whatever caught his fancy inside the cupboard, and either take bites out of it..or leave claw marks on the packaging. I caught him one night after trying to figure who the culprit was for weeks!
ReplyDeleteOh no!
DeleteLovely Junk Journal and a beautiful card by Nana Connie. I love the way she's coloured her.
ReplyDeleteOne of my outside cats sleeps in the shade netting over the car port. It hangs down a bit between the metal bars and she uses those bits like little hammocks :-D It's very funny seeing a cat from underneath :-D
One of our newest rescues, Tater, jumps 2-3 feet straight up in the air while throwing around a stuffed mouse. He'll do this for a while and then we'll find him sacked out napping because he's worn himself out!
ReplyDeleteHoneydew doesn't do many tricks any more (he's 17), but he does do this one trick twice daily, at feeding time. This started after the other kitties crossed over the rainbow bridge. Just a year ago, his place-mat in the kitchen was fine for him to eat, but not any more. No, he wants his food delivered. And delivered to wherever he is. So I bring him his dish, wherever he is. He eats a few bites and then gets up and moves a few feet away, or into another room, or even down the hall. There he waits. He waits for me to deliver the dish again. He does this over and over, 4, 5, 6, maybe 7 times. By that time, he's finally done eating, but he takes his time. It's a daily ritual and we both enjoy it. Of course with every food delivery I bring, there are more cuddles and more "good kitty" encouraging words. I should add that he is a very good eater!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Janis! And more amazing and generous sponsors - I just did my thank-yous! That's an awesome sale at Unity and I could not resist! I don't do much shopping any more but I can't resist a 50% off sale! NanaConnie's card is so cute! Thank you for another day of Cat Loving!
Oh my goodness! What a funny thing for him to start. I would probably do it too.
DeleteOh I had a cat like that!! She made me do it the last few years of her life - now if only you can get GrubHub to help out. . . XOXOXO
DeleteIsn't it sweet how our furbabies make sure we get our exercise every day! lol... Honeydew sounds like a sweetheart!
DeleteOh my goodness, the sponsors are just extraordinary Janis! WOW
ReplyDeleteThis would be Yassi, and how she runs inside meowing like a banshee all the while with a mouse in her mouth! Next she drops it at my feet, with 'here's your lunch!' If I dont respond straight away (mostly because I'm having horrors!!) she'll tap it towards me!!! Tap, tap tap! (Poor little mouse, I don't like them losing their little lives either!) I have to pick it up and distract her by giving her some biscuits while I dispose of it so I don't disappoint her by not lunching on it! She does the same thing with little lizards, but she does not harm these. I recapture them and put them outside!
Also want to add how wonderful NanaConnie (card is delightful) and Christi are by helping you out! True friends!
DeleteEeeeeeeek, I would be freaking out!
DeleteMy cats don't do anything extraordinary. We had one cat that would jump on the stool near the door and my husband taught her to touch the doorknob for a treat but he can't get any of the others to do it.
ReplyDeleteBoth of my kitties have learned to open all the cabinets in my kitchen, including the one above the refrigerator! I actually had to put items in front of the cabinets, like a small stool, and some very large rocks. LOL. I decided to give them the pleasure of opening the one above the fridge. And, lo and behold - it's open every single day!
ReplyDeleteWell, I won't tell you anything today. My cats don't do tricks, they rarely play. You have to take them out to play. My husband and I are having a better time than they are.
ReplyDeleteThere was inspiration behind me coming up with this question (and you are VERY welcome Janis - I'm so glad I could help!) because my fat black furbaby, Mew, loves, and I mean LOVES to slide around the tub. She gets as high up as she can on the sides, slides down and strikes a pose - she will flip on her back, all four paws out, or on her side. And she talks up a storm while she is doing it!! Now I have a bathroom that has a walk in shower and while she can't slide, she still poses and talks to make sure I am watching her. She purrs SO loud while doing this it's crazy. I need to get a video LOL LOL
ReplyDeleteOh and I DO want that digi - I LOVE it :)
DeleteThat is hilarious, Christi, and it must have been so funny to watch her do that!
DeleteGreat card from NanaConnie! Adorable kitty!
ReplyDeleteCoco's trick is that she can disappear! I can look all over for her to no avail. Not sure of the location of all of her hiding spots!
Well now, I don't like to brag but our cat cooks. Yessiree bob. Tuna melts, fish sticks, shrimp on the grill and his favorite is fresh fish. He can cook that in so many ways. After everyone eats he then takes all the bones and makes every guest a comb to take home with them. You gotta have a swag bag right? Sometimes he'll take the time to paint them. He's very artistic. If you have hair like mine he saves the big boned combs for thick hair.
ReplyDeleteOkay, so we don't have a cat. But, I had to have a story. We do however have a bear. His name is Woolfie and he knows he's not real. He is great friends with the cat. Who wouldn't be since the cat does all the cooking? [Bunny]
Oh gosh, I saw the Purple Onion as a sponsor. Loved that. Didn't know where to send a comment so I just emailed them. I think I get a little lost on where to comment sometimes. [Bunny]
DeleteYou are so funny, Bunny!
DeleteVelcro doesn't do any tricks! He just eats and sleeps! Catapult, on the other hand likes to open drawers in our bedroom. Once she can get a foot in the drawer, she snags onto a shirt or socks and starts pull them out in order to open the drawer wide enough for her to jump in and take a nap. Sometimes, she just opens them for the sake of opening them. Hoping she never learns how to open doors! :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha, it must be cute to see!
DeleteI have loved reading about your kitty's tricks and funny antics - especially Bunny's :)
ReplyDeleteMy Casey used to trick us into thinking he was outside - we would be walking around, calling his name and waiting patiently (or not) for him to return, when all the while he would be happily munching his dinner or grooming himself indoors. We called him 'Phantom' as he had the knack of sneaking passed without us seeing him - uncanny how many times this happened! It always made us laugh.
Bunny's 'cooking' cat story is hysterical ! Good job, my friend. :-D My big cat, Honeybear, (16 pounds and 12 of that is hair!) jumps up onto the dressing table and talks to the cat he finds in the mirror. He has a specific mew for that and never sounds like that any other time. I don't know how (or why) he learned to do that but he started it when he was around a year old and he's still doing it 10 years later.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if all cats do this but here goes! Ichigo gets so excited having his head pets that he begins to drool (first) and then give me a not so subtle bite on my wrist! The funny thing about it is he startles me every time and I squeal! I think he loves that!
ReplyDeleteLove the coloring NanaConnie did on Crouchy! Fabulous job! Thanks to all the sponsors and hosts and all the crew who make this a wonderful hop!
ReplyDeleteRalphie likes to open drawers and dig all of the contents out (especially the kitchen towel drawer). He also pulled a couple of nails out of the wall once, where I had taken down a picture.
ReplyDeleteNoelle and Nana Connie both shared such beautiful cards! Both are so talented!
Haha, my first cat Muffin used to do that with my kitchen tea towel drawer. I would come home from work to find a pile of my towels on the floor!
DeleteMy outdoor cat would
ReplyDeleterun around the yard
with my puppy and fall
downtown play with him.
Carla from Arizona
Simply Nana's card is so sweet and I love the details on Noelle card, so much fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks to all fab sponsors!
Bunny's card made me laugh with the frog there for the fly and the cat there for ... the fish. CarolG
ReplyDeleteMy guy wants to drink from the shower. Every time I have to turn it down to a trickle and he comes in and puts his mouth under the stream.
ReplyDeleteThanks to amazing sponsors!
ReplyDeleteLuckily my cats can't reach fridge. So no paws will be harmed...
Nana Conie made lovely card.
My cat Speedy likes to sleep on her back. That's strange.
It's not acrobatic but Coffee likes to drying my tea or juice...
Art Impressions is honored to be a part of your fun hop for all 7 years. Good luck to all of these amazing artists!
ReplyDeleteMy sweet departed girl Pandora LOVED peppermint. She would dig through my purse and pull out the chewing gum to bite on. At Christmas she had her own tiny candy cane for a few licks every day.
ReplyDeleteSilly cats! Trix are fir kids!!!
ReplyDeleteNo pets in the house now but my neighbour's cat would always lie in wait for the garden frogs after a heavy rain during monsoon season like now. She would pound on them and play with them too.
ReplyDeleteSome nights when the cat (my orange tabby) won't quit meowing I go lay on the sofa in the living room hoping that he shuts up so that he doesn't wake hubby. What this little stinker then does on some nights is go to sleep on my spot in the bed while I try to sleep on the sofa.
ReplyDeleteCats can be so weird!! LOL
Your cat's are just too cute the only thing I can say my baby does is he gets under the blanket I will keep saying his name then he will eventually come out of the blanket like he's playing hide and go seek, I know he's under the blanket but I act like I don't know where he is
ReplyDeleteout kitty doesn't do anything extraordinary, she is just beautiful :)).
ReplyDeleteSabre is very competitive. She has to be first. Even though she is elderly she runs ahead of us even if we are riding in a golf cart.
ReplyDelete
