2020 Cat Lovers Hop Guidelines and FAQs
Hi, Friends.....
I am so glad you are back today to join us for Day 2 of our 2020 Cat Lovers Hop. A big thanks to everyone who already pounced on the Daily Game yesterday. I enjoyed reading about new kitties and catching up on other cats who have made regular appearances on here over the last several years.
If you haven't participated in the Kitty Roll Call from yesterday's Day 1 Daily Game, I hope you will go back and do so. You can enter any of the Daily Games all week long. We hope to hear from the rest of you throughout the week. The games are fun and really help us get to know you and your kitties. You are NOT required to enter for the digital image prize to participate in the games. We want to hear from everyone!!
I'm also enjoying the projects that have been linked up already. Fabulous!! I love seeing cat products out there that I didn't even know existed. I make a note of the companies for future sponsor possibilities!! ;)
One more thing before we get going for today.....
If you notice broken links or links going to the wrong pages, PLEASE send me a note!! I rely on my alert readers to let me know when they run into something like that. There is already enough mass confusion during our Hops without me starting some international CAT-astrophy! I super-appreciate everyone's help in this matter!!!
Just a reminder.....You must SIGN IN HERE to be eligible for prizes. Also, LINK UP ALL PROJECTS ON THE MAIN HOP PAGE by 11:55 pm Pacific, Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020. I have my 2020 Cat Lovers Hop Guidelines and FAQs in a handy tab just under my header at the top of each page.
Okay....let's get right to the events for today.

.......................................
Very Special Note to all Cat Hoppers:Many of you already know that our dear friend Ike is currently battling cancer and has been undergoing surgery and chemo. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she fights through this difficult challenge. We love you, Ike, and are praying for healing and strength!! 💗💗💗
PRIZE: Not only is Ike's Art sponsoring our Daily Games, but Ike is also offering an additional grand prize of a $20 Gift Code to her online store!! (WOW!! Some lucky digi lover is going to go crazy with that prize!!!)
Please take time to visit Ike at these social media spots: Blog, Store, and Facebook Group. Don't forget to Like, Follow, Share, and Comment with a big "THANK YOU for sponsoring the 2020 Cat Lovers Hop at Her Peaceful Garden!"
In the interest of keeping things manageable for myself in this year's Hop, I decided to follow Ike's lead and I am using cards I made back in 2016 as samples again, too.
So, for today......the featured digital image from Ike's Fleaz Navidad digital set is "I LUV My Teddy"
Here's what I did with the sweet digi:
That's one enormous teddy bear!! And one way too brightly-colored calico! lol... |
NOTE: PLEASE PLAY THE DAILY GAMES EVEN IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE IN THE DRAWINGS FOR THE DIGI PRIZES.
REMEMBER.....you must link up your name in the linky tool at the bottom of each post to be in the drawing for the digi prizes.
Not my cat.....but could be!!! lol... |
I'll start.......
This is how to play the game to be eligible for the prize drawing:
1. Make sure you have SIGNED IN HERE to be eligible for prizes.
2. Leave a comment telling about something weird your cat eats.
3. After you finish your comment: if you want to be in the drawing for the Ike's Art prize, fill out your (own) name in the link up below. This doesn't have any thumbnails so no photo needed! You don't even need a blog!!! This is for everyone!!!
NOTE: The Daily Game link ups will be open the entire duration of the Hop, including the extra day for comments. Entries
need to be in by 11:55 pm Pacific, Sunday Nov. 1, 2020 to be eligible
for the daily prize. So you have more than just today to comment and
link up. I realize that not everyone has access to a printer or
likes to use digis, so I am still keeping the link up gadget to make
sure the digi prizes go to winners who can use them. But I am hoping
EVERYONE will participate in answering the questions whether they are
putting their name in for the prize or not.
Okay, now it is your turn!!
REMEMBER: Link your cat-themed projects over on the Main Hop Page. (Please use #2020CatLoversHop on social media!!) This link-up below is just to enter the drawing for the Daily Game after you have commented. Thanks!!!
Okay.....let's continue on with the feline fun today!! Thanks so much for your excitement and participation!!!

I told you yesterday about Sammy and Charlie, the cats who used to own me. They both loved chocolate and cake. The first Christmas we had them, we hung chocolate baubles on the tree - big mistake, they were all stolen and eaten. Another year, I made a display of chocolate Easter eggs and they too got cannibalised. And once, one of them licked all the chocolate buttercream off the cake I'd made and decorated for my daughter's birthday.
ReplyDeleteRich fruit cake was another favourite - they always begged for scraps. I usually make my Christmas cake in October and "feed" it with brandy every week. Once I poured the brandy over the surface of the cake then left it unwrapped to soak in. Shortly I heard a loud crash from the room where I'd left it - and found Charlie on the floor looking groggy. He'd stolen the entire top layer of cake, still soaked with brandy that hadn't filtered down into the rest of the cake, and was staggering around drunk. Luckily it made him so sick he brought everything up before it could do him any damage, but my cake was ruined!
Too funny, Jane!
DeleteWeeeeell, I'm sure cats are not weird to eat lizard (oh and she didnt! kinda), but more like what she does...
ReplyDeleteYassi is intent on catching little lizards (skinks) and she will run inside bellowing with the thing inside her mouth! She doesnt kill the lizard, but it'll drops its tail... and she'll eat that!
The rest of the lizard - she gives to me (gift) and each time the lizards are okay other than dropped tails, so I'll scoop it up and while she is not watching - I'll put them back outside again!
Good morning, Janis! Probably not strange, but all 3 of our cats like to nibble on the houseplants. Honeydew likes to lick plastic bags and will eat them if they are the right kind of plastic. We have to be very careful with plastic bags in our house! Snowie will eat any type of human food - you name it, she will eat it. Thank you for Day 2 of the Hop! Your card is so cute with the big teddy bear and pretty calico kitty! I'm off to thank today's sponsors; will try their blogs first :-) Thanks for the links!
ReplyDeleteMorning, WOW I am loving your hop. Thank you so much for all the hard work. Im finding lots of fab companies that I did know existed. I dont do facebook but have been visiting their blogs and shops.
ReplyDeleteI hope my second make is ok for it as I had a wee girl on the stamp too.
Harry only eats cat food and chicken. My very first kitty Suki had a mad thing for cheesy wotsit crisps. (They are a bit like cheetos). You wouldn't even have opened the pack when she would be up on your knee mooching for some.
Love your card today with the giant ted and fab coloured calico cat,
Take Care, Hazel (Didos) xx
Hello Janis and Cat Lovers! I enjoyed visiting everyones blogs and seeing Day 1's projects yesterday. Janis, your card today is sooo cute! It did take me a few moments to get the meme at the top of your post, but I chuckled when I saw it! :) My Casey is a picky eater. That is, he's picky about cat food - he needs at least three choices before he'll settle down to eat. He loves human food, especially tuna and prawns, but he's partial to porridge and toast too, oh and digestive biscuits and salted crisps. xx
ReplyDeleteMy cats Goose and Maverick love salty things, mostly tortilla and potato chips. Maverick likes cheese too. Our Iceman will eat ribbons. I have to be sure to keep my ribbon drawer closed and I never buy balloons with long ribbons, we had quite a litterbox incident because I didn't know he was eating them! Fortunately, he did poop them out.
ReplyDeleteSorry, my english is not great, let me write short. My 3 cats are eating something else. The eldest liked apricots and donuts. Mediumcat, she likes green olives. The youngest kitty loves cake baked on powder. The ears are shaking. Cute card, I love images from Ikea's.
ReplyDeleteLOL, our newest rescue and the youngest of our furry tribe is Loki, and he eats just about anything - whatever you're eating, he wants some! Blueberries, bananas, strawberries, lettuce, asparagus, kale, spinach, potato chips, pretzels, donuts, cake, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, potatoes just to name a few. He's an absolute trip!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I LOVE your teddy bear and calico kitty card! He is brightly colored but he's adorable! <3
ReplyDeleteHi Janis! I'm not sure if my comments are going through or not. I don't see them. The link seems to keep looping in a circle, asking me to comment, then my info, then comment again, then my info, until I just stop. Then my comment doesn't appear. Anyway, that's why you might have all these comments from me or none at all. I can't figure it out.
ReplyDeleteArrrgh...Thanks for your persistence in trying over and over, Michele! I don't know what could be causing that...except for the Blogger Goblins. Sometimes they seem to be out in full force! I wonder if anyone else is having trouble. (BTW....I loved your post and card over on Poppystamps!! THANKS so much!)

My youngest, Queenie, has a real thing about potatoes. We discovered this last Thanksgiving when she raided the kitchen counter on which were stacked the dirty dinner dishes waiting to go into the dishwasher's second load. One of the bowls had left over mashed potatoes and she was happily licking that it clean! Not turkey or gravy but potatoes!! A few days later, I was cutting raw potatoes into chunks which I was going to fry as cottage potatoes for breakfast, along with bacon and eggs. I dropped one of the chunks and Queenie pounced on it. I figured she'd get a taste and spit it out but she crunched down every bit and came asking for more! Now, anytime I'm cutting potatoes, she's at my feet begging for bits of them. Who knew she was that weird?
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, our Oreo is a problem. He likes to chew on plastic. He doesn't eat it but he likes to chew it and it freaks me out. He had a past affinity for hair ties too. Oy!
ReplyDeleteDon't have any pets at this time.
ReplyDeleteCan't remember anything weird tht
Tommy ate so I'll share one of the
things a cat ate that Dr Jeff (TV
Vet) took out of his stomach. The
lady had those rubber floor mats
and the cat chewed on it. Resulted
in surgery to remove the piece of
rubber. take care

OK, my cat is really really fussy. So she does eat wet cat food, but only one brand, and not pate, it's got to be in jelly and chunky, but not reconstituted chunks, gotta have a bit of chewiness. And she will eat cat biscuits, but only if they are mixed in with the aforementioned cat food OR if you place them on the floor. She will not eat cat biscuits from a dish, and if forced to it she will hook them out with her paw onto the floor before eating them. Iz not puttingz my faze in dat dish. She will condescend to eat a little cheese if offered, but only a little, at breakfast time!!! Good gracious we are so well trained!!!!! She also does not eat anything she kills. Just leaves it on the doormat. Hugz
ReplyDeleteThe pic of the cat on pizza makes me giggle :D How fun!!
ReplyDeleteAll my cats just adore lick my hands when I put cream (hand care cream). I don't know what there is in it, but seems very taste.
I licked the cream too to understand, but I don't like it! :D Ah ah LOL
As Yonabunny's cats, all my six cats don't eat cat biscuits from a dish, only if I put them on the floor. Strange thing.
Hugs and thanks for the Hop!!
That picture of the cat with the pizza is just too cute, my four babies king, fury Prince and fury will eat or try to eat about anything from lettuce, fruits, vegetables I'm loving this hop and how I get to know each of y'all on here and I love to hear about everyone's cats I thought mine were the only ones to eat weird stuff or do weird things but I was wrong
ReplyDeleteI had a kitty named Kimmy that loved to eat my homemade soups. I mostly made either chicken or turkey with vegetables, and she liked the veggies and noodles I put in the soup as well as the meat.
ReplyDeleteCoco likes to eat dry instant mashed potatoes. I was fixing some one night to go with dinner and caught her licking the measuring cup of them that I had out on the kitchen counter.
So many generous sponsors! Thank you to each of them. :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a young girl, my cat, Samantha, loved icing. So for her birthday each year, she had a special cupcake so that she could lick off all of the frosting.
Every cat (and dog) that has been in our family, including those belonging to my sons, drinks coffee, tea, and water from my cup. Taking after me, I guess. ;)
Our current cat, Moon Pie, has to be on a special diet because of his illness. He tries to sneak the dog's food any time he thinks he can get away with it. Interestingly, he is not a fan of fish or cheese, nor does he want the same flavor of food served in a row. He is quite vocal about that! :D
My cat, Custard, enjoys his Friday night treat tea of chicken and cheese. We're convinced that he knows when Friday comes around because that's my hubby's turn in the kitchen and Custard sits just outside in the hallway waiting for his share! Jo x
ReplyDeleteLove Jane's Doodles!
ReplyDeleteShe is here in Croatia and I want to meet her but I didnt had a chance!
One of the cats likes to drink my tea.
weird that they eat I didnt notice.yet.
I did had cat who loves to eat popcorns.
We've always had wild cats
ReplyDeleteand never fed them fish. We
had a bunch of kittens and
we caught a lot of White Bass
and my husband began feeding
it to the kittens. The bigger
cats that never had it as
kittens, wouldn't eat it!
Carla from Utah
Oh my goodness, it's nice to see my cats aren't alone in their strange pallets!
ReplyDeleteWhen my husband and I were first married, we had four furbabies that have since passed. (we now have four more, the next generation.) But, we had one cat, that we caught on more than one occasion sneaking food off the counter if we hadn't done the dishes yet. And she always stole the veggies! There would be meat and veggies and she would leave the meat!
We currently have a cat that loves carbs. If there is a pancake, pizza crust, cookie or bread within reach, she will snag it and run.
And living in warm weather, we are constantly gifted with lizards and frogs. :)
Oh, this is fun! Well, my Ralphie has eaten lettuce before; the kind that is pre-shredded. Miley and Leo love to sit on either side of me when I am having something they like, such as chicken, pork chops, burger etc, and I give them each bites. I cook chicken and pork chops in the slow cooker, and I don't put spice on it, so I think it is pretty healthy for them. And P.J. will occasionally eat a nibble of chicken or pork chop, but not very often. Of course, they all go nuts for their wet food (kitty crack!).
ReplyDeleteSampson (our food-oriented kitty) tries to eat *everything*. If there is any food left unattended, he eats it. If it's vaguely food looking, he'll give it a try. I think the craziest thing he ever ate was a star anise - yes, the woody star shaped spice thing. Crazy boy.
ReplyDeleteLola likes to lick things. Plastic is her favourite. She will lick plastic bags if they're around, or bubble wrap. She's also recently started licking the walls in the bathroom if she's in there...
Elvis is relatively sane and only eats the food he is meant to eat ;)
Probably the strangest thing our cats eat (at least Zipper & Ginger) is cheese. At least, I think it's strange. LOL I mean, are they part mice??? :) ~ Andrea
ReplyDeleteWell our 4 cats don't really have any strange food likes, but are quite fussy...yes just one type of wet cat food, has to be jelly or gravy not that pate muck and two of them won't chew lumps just lick around the plate so that's quite good as the others will finish these off. We had to start feeding Watson urinary dry food, soon the others were like, we don't want the cheap stuff. Watson loves to catch live things like mice, geckos and grasshoppers and brings them inside but doesn't eat them, Arthur will often be right behind him as he will eat them.
ReplyDeleteWhen I lived in UK, my cat a few years ago was obsessed with jars of Olives !! She knew you'd opened one from miles away.
ReplyDeleteI have gutsy Ghandi here now and he will eat just about anything - given half a chance LoL
I had a cat who seemed to be enjoying the veggies cooked by my mother. It is so strange to see her enjoying them.
ReplyDeleteOur cat just eats her cat food although lately I have been cooking up mystery meat from the freezer and she has been enjoying it.
ReplyDeleteour cat = cat from our grandma eats everything or she tries everything, even food from dogs.
ReplyDeleteWhen we had the 2 brothers, Perky and Patience. Perky LOVED tuna, he could be anywhere in the apt., the second he heard the can open, he was there. Hi brother, Patience never like it. However, Patience LOVED yogurt, but Perky hated it. LOL! Patience would also only eat treats with "Chicken" nothing else. He was very particular. We also had to have 2 water bowls for Patience. One was a dog dish, so that he couldn't knock if over. He would use his left paw and bring each piece of dry food over the lip of the bowl and drop it into the water one by one. Then he would use his right paw to scoop it out of the water bowl. It always made us laugh. Our last cat Boo, would also take out the dry food from her bowl 1 morsel at a time to eat it.
ReplyDelete
