Thinking of Mew - Monochrome

Don't miss my GIVEAWAY HERE
on my
30 Cats in 30 Years post!!!

(Hurry!....It ends 11:59 pm Pacific on Saturday, July 6, 2019!!)
********************************
Hi, Friends......

I'm here with a card to share that I didn't start out to make. It was one of those that happened when two pieces in my coral scrap bag got too close to each other. In my rummaging, I spied this perky gingham pattern behind a couple of off-kilter star diecut negatives. I thought to myself, "It's different.....but I LIKE it!" :)

But what to add to it after the marriage of the two scraps???? Cats, of course! So the card took shape and came into being. I think placing the cats in front of the stars helps them look not quite so off-balance....at least I hope so! When I cut those stars, I obviously  was not planning on making a card from the negative!!!

I almost always cut my card panels so a border of my card base shows, but I didn't want to cut any more off these stars than necessary.  So I used a different stitched rectangle die than usual.

Supplies used include:
Lawn Fawn - Large Stitched Rectangles die set
X-Cut - A5 Mixed Cats die set
Winnie & Walter - True Multifaceted Star Cutaways die set
Newton's Nook Designs - Newton's Sick Day stamp set
Clear Dollar Stamps - Elegant Accents Tag Frames (discontinued)
Versafine ink in Habanero
Scraps from stash

Hope you like my kitty card. I think it turned out really cute. Hope you USA friends had a safe and relaxing 4th of July. Thank you for stopping by today.

🖤
Janis

  2. Oh my gosh Janis, I just love this! The gingham and kitties give your card such a warm and cozy look, and love the way you layered everything and then used a stitched rectangle. It looks like a sweet little mini-quilt. Yay for happy accidents.
