Even with Ike's medical challenges, she has pre-arranged with me to sponsor our Daily Games by graciously delving into her vault to offer one of her wonderful sets of kitty digital images for prizes.

Take a look at her fur-bulous Fleaz Navidad digital set...which she originally designed for the 2016 Cat Lovers Hop.  It's a good one!!  Each day of the Hop, I will feature one of the images from this set as the prize for that day's Daily Game.

In the interest of keeping things manageable for myself in this year's Hop, I decided to follow Ike's lead and I am using cards I made back in 2016 as samples again, too.

So, for today......the featured digital image from Ike's Fleaz Navidad digital set is "Waiting for Santa".  So sweet!!!!

And here's the card I made with that digital image:

NOTE:  PLEASE PLAY THE DAILY GAMES EVEN IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE IN THE DRAWINGS FOR THE DIGI PRIZES.

Not all of you use digis and have indicated that to me when you SIGNED IN.  I hope you will still participate in the Daily Games.  You do NOT have to participate in the digi giveaway to answer the Daily Game question that lets us all get to know each other better.  If you DO want to be in the digi prize drawing, be sure to link up your name each day that you participate!

REMEMBER.....you must link up your name in the linky tool at the bottom of each post to be in the drawing for the digi prizes.

DAY 5 GAME: What is the Most Expensive or Most Precious Thing Your Cat has Destroyed?

I'll start.....

As we all know, cats can destroy things by several means: scratching, chewing, vomiting, spraying (or other methods of elimination), and just lying down in the wrong place!!! Why do we keep these creatures in our houses????? Hahahaha.... I can't even begin to count the number of things we've had to trash because of the cats.....or just live with in their damaged state. I may just be mentally blocking out something really expensive that they have ruined, but mostly what comes to mind is furniture...a sofa, a rocker/recliner, a loveseat. Fortunately, none of it was new....but I still was not happy with them being scratched and clawed down to the wooden frames!! Thank goodness I found covers that hid the shredded places!!

This is how to play the game to be eligible for the prize drawing:
1.  Make sure you have SIGNED IN HERE to be eligible for prizes.
2. Share in the comments about something expensive or precious your cat have destroyed.
3. After you finish your comment: if you want to be in the drawing for the prize, fill out your (own) name in the link up below. This doesn't have any thumbnails so no photo needed! You don't even need a blog!!!  This is for everyone!!!
NOTE: The Daily Game link ups will be open the entire duration of the Hop, including the extra day for comments. Entries need to be in by 11:55 pm Pacific, Sunday Nov. 1, 2020 to be eligible for the daily prize. So you have more than just today to comment and link up. I realize that not everyone has access to a printer or likes to use digis, so I am still keeping the link up gadget to make sure the digi prizes go to winners who can use them. But I am hoping EVERYONE will participate whether they are putting their name in for the prize or not.

Okay, now it is your turn!!

REMEMBER: Link your cat-themed projects over on the Main Hop Page. (Please use #2020CatLoversHop and PUBLIC settings on social media!!) This link-up below is just to enter the drawing for the Daily Game after you have commented. Thanks!!!

Only two more days in our hop!  Tomorrow (Saturday, Oct. 31) is the LAST DAY to post projects.  So get those neglected cat stamps inked up to get the last of your 5 projects linked up over HERE!!!  You still have through Sunday, Nov. 1 to comment on projects and play in the Daily Games.  Yay!!!

  1. I'm an early bird - in first again!
Many years ago I lived in an Army married quarter in Hong Kong. We had two kittens, and we also had mosquito proof screens on all the windows. The kittens thought it was super fun to chase each other up and sown the mesh screens, and of course their claws tore numerous holes in the screens. We had to choose between paying to get them replaced (once the cats had grown too big to run up them easily) or being bitten to death my mossies!

  2. It's amazing, but my cats didn't destroy anything like that. I just realized that I have good cats:-)

  3. A couple of our cats love to pop their claws on the bottom of the little couch and on rugs, (and are quickly re-routed to the scratching box when we hear it) but they really have never 'destroyed' anything. We are lucky to have such good kids! ;)

  4. Sigh, Yassi did when we first got her... she clawed the arm of our brand new leather couch. Needless to say she never did it again. I think we gave her such a fright with both of us spontaneously screaming 'noooooooooooo' that it did the trick!

Oh Janis, I cant believe this is wonderful hop is finishing already! I'm an early bird with each day because here in Australia your new post goes up about 9pm for us :) not sad about that lol!)

  5. My current cat hasn't really destroyed anything. He just likes to knock stuff off of my desk if he isn't getting enough attention.

We did have a cat that really didn't like the house we had moved to. In a short time he had scratched and torn the wallpaper all through the house. When we were getting ready to move, we had to replace all of the wallpaper.

He refused any kind of scratching post, and never did that in any other house he lived in.

I have always had cats around, but they rarely destroy anything. He was the only one and only at that particular house.

Thank you for the fun this week! I have a project that I will link later today. Thank you to all of your generous sponsors, too! :)

  6. My littlest cat, Iceman, loves to claw the desk chair I'm sitting in right now. It is so torn apart that when I have Zoom meeting for work - I bought a chair cover to put on it so no one can see then I take it right back off. It's the only thing he really claws at so we let him do it. Crazy, right? Thanks for this wonderful hop and great games. I'm so enjoying seeing everyone's makes.

  7. Definitely the furniture, namely the chesterfield and loveseat. If there were other things destroyed, they are long forgiven and forgotten. Thank you for another day of awesome sponsors and cat prizes! I need to muster up some mental energy to finish this hop and thank the sponsors! Thankfully I have today and tomorrow to complete it! Thanks again, Janis, for the wonderful hop - I am enjoying it and appreciate all you do!

  8. Amazing sponsors! thanks to all sponsors!
Love Newtons Nook! my favorite cat stamps designer!
oh your card is so lovely!
Most Expensive or Most Precious Thing my cats has Destroyed?
oh I belive that they didnt.
They did scratch the couch but its old one...
They like to kick Cristmas tree and play with ornaments.

  9. Pretty scene on your card! Love the sweet kitties!
I am thinking furniture too! A couch and loveseat were trashed.... Coco LOVES to scratch! But we bought a new set hoping we could break the habit.... and it worked! Bought her two new scratching posts and also chose a leather-like couch and recliner, and she's not interested in scratching on the furniture!
A long time back, she jumped up and knocked over a cherished Fenton fairy lamp.... ugh! Have not ever found a replacement for that and I sure hated to lose it!

  10. Love that card, Janis! Such sweet kitties watching out the window. I've had so many kitties and most of them were content with their scratching posts so the furniture stayed pristine (except for cat hair.) But Queenie has managed to completely shred 2 wingback chairs, neither of which were new. She will completely ignore all the scratching posts/pads/boxes (provided in various shapes hoping to find one which catches her fancy) and go for the chairs every time. She's such a monster and no amount of human intervention (yelling, shouting, clapping of hands, spraying her with water) has any impact on this particular propensity but when she comes for a cuddle, I just can't resist her. I think the chairs are just going to become her property. Sigh...
It's been a great hop and I'm off to comment on the latest entries. I have about 35 to catch up with today and will keep checking over the weekend. I'm determined to visit every single entry, even those on Flikr, Instagram, Twitter, etc., where I don't have accounts and cannot leave comments. :-D

  11. I don't think Tommy ever destroyed
anything of mine. He was an
outside cat - the only thing that
got destroyed were the tips of
his ears, a badly scratched eye,
results of fights he would get
    into. The hop was fun.
    thanks for having it.

  13. One of our kitties, Sophie, LOVES to chew things. Plastic, hair ties, ribbon, fake flowers, you name it. Well, now that we are wearing masks, she is making it a bit challenging. If a mask is left unattended, she will chew off the ear straps!!! I have learned the hard way a few times to put my mask away!

  14. I don't think our cats have ever actually absolutely destroyed anything. Having said that, several years ago we adopted 2 kittens--littermates--whom we named Empress Josephine (aka Josie) & General Patton (aka The General--my brother, who is a World War II buff, named him). As kittens, they would race down our hallway and, when they got up to full speed, would LEAP onto the wall, dig in their claws, & slide down. We just waited until they grew out of that phase, and the next time I painted the hall, I patched the drywall. They were the only cats/kittens--before or since--ever to do that. Other than that, we had a cat who refused to use the "real" litter box, & instead, went on the floor wherever she happened to be. Yuck! We eventually tore out carpeting in 3 rooms that got pretty soaked with pee, & replaced it with vinyl tiles. My brother even had to replace a bit of drywall that had soaked up urine. But, in the end, that was a good move, since vomit has been much easier to clean up ever since! LOL We've also had the typical scratching on the furniture & occasional knocking over of things, but the wall & carpet damage were the worst! :P ~ Andrea

  15. I don't think our cats have really destroyed much thankfully! They did scratch our old sofa to bits, but it had been given to us for free from a friend of my husband's mum when we moved into our first flat, and wasn't in great condition in the first place so we didn't really make that much effort to discourage them!

One thing that did get destroyed... My husband likes Hummers (the cars) and I think they're ugly, so one year I bought him a remote control one and joked that now he has one so he never needs to get a real one. He kept it up on a shelf kind of on display, and one day one of the cats knocked it down and it broke irreparably.

  16. Ahhh my wee Harry is quite good so far. I do have covers on the chair though as Jess used to use it as a scratching post!!! She was always having wee's in silly places and was very good at using my sons lego box as a litter tray!! Oh boy that was fun washing all the lego!!! Thank You for the fun week, I have really enjoyed it, Hazel xx

  17. Oh dear, yes I'm pretty mad that one especially of our 4 -WATSON!!! is naughty and scratches our leather lounge, his other trick is to knock things from the bench/table/buffet - small things, don't think we had any notable breakages, he does this I think when he's wanting attention and he'll sit in front of the tv we're watching on the cabinet. Your kitty card is real cute Janis - nice when they play together...rarely here... thank you also, I've had some fun reading other cat lover comments. Robyn

  18. My cat likes to eat papers I have pinned to the wall for work or various art, also I have a cat purse with cat ears and the ears have been chewed...

  19. Our cats tear up the usual things. Ralphie loves to shred toilet paper and paper towels every once in a while. When I had Mr. Kitty, he poked holes in a leather looking wing-backed chair I had. Nobody hardly sat in it anyway, so I just considered it his chair.

  20. All of my babies will eat, scratch and tear up anything and everything that they can from all the furniture in our house and even the walls of they can reach it then it's destroyed

    ReplyDelete
  21. My cats were actually pretty good when it came to damaging anything, but they did the usual couch-corner-as-scratching-post thing on occasion. Actually, the most annoying habit they had was peeing on my craft supplies, especially on vellum and plastic page protectors...argh!

  22. Many years ago my one and only cat shredded up the carpet by pulling it out from under the runner fixing. She bunched it up and started making a racket because she couldn't get out !!! and then I couldn't open the darn door to get in a free her because the carpet was bunched under the door !!! She had shredded so much carpet !! I couldn't hide it with a rug because then the door wouldn't open again LoL !!!!

  24. And the march of fab sponsors continues!! Thanks to both you and them!!
Funny story... dad was against getting cats, but once we got them, we'd keep finding evidence that HE was playing with them on the sly... like the time our unfinished sheet-rock garage wall was shredded because he'd been playing with them with a muff, then hung it on a peg on the wall so it dangled just out of their reach. He confessed when we asked how the kitties had learned the muff was a plaything. Busted!!

  26. Our kitty named Misty
    loved to get Q0tips
    from the garbage and
    then toss them all
    over the house! She
    would sit there and
    toss them over her
    head. Never destroyed
    anything though.

  29. What a fun card! I love the ribbon (I think I have that! lol). Knock on wood, nothing broken at all (just a few chew holes in some shirts and pillows! lol).

  30. Well. the sofa's looking a bit rough, and we may have to replaster a particularly attractive wall corner. Hugz

  31. Our leather sofa has little pluck marks from clicky claws and the wallpaper on the corner of the stairway has been shredded. The archway plaster was so gouged out that we put wooden panels over it and now that is used as a scratch post. We don't mind ... well, not much :) xx

  32. Our friend gave us very expensive bottle of Cognac in a signature velvet box, worth a few thousand dollars. Perky our cat decided to jump on top of our entertainment unit which was over 8 ft. high and chewed the entire box. He also chewed all of my expensive high heeled shoes. I told him he was part dog. I was upset, but couldn't stay made at him for long, because he was so loving and adorable. He just had a thing for anything carboard or high heeled shoes. As kittens, Perky and Patience also destroyed the side of our cloth couch, but couches could be replaced. We came home one time and Perky had destroyed almost all of our cardboard boxes. My husband thought he could outsmart him by putting in a piece of would going on diagonal from the wall to the sliding door of the closet. Another piece of wood along the bottom to hold the door and a small 5 lb. weight. I was laughing as he was doing this and made a bet with him that Perky would be back in the closet in less that 5 minutes. He disagreed. However, Perky was extremely intelligent and had watched him set up the whole trap. We sat there and watched as Perky looked at the door and then back at my husband for a few moments. Then he walked up to the closet door, took his paw and removed the piece of diagonal wood. Then he tried to open the closet again. He couldn't and my husband thought he had won. Not so fast though, Perky looked again at the situation and then back at my husband. You could just see his little mind going. Then he once again walked up to the closet and removed the bottom piece of wood. Once again he tried to open the closet, but this time the small weight was blocking him. He tried to remove the weight, but it was too heavy for him. Once again, my husband thought he had won. Perky sat looking at the weight holding the sliding door shut for a little longer and then back at my husband. The he walked up to the sliding door and with his paw, slid the opposing sliding door open where the weight wasn't, walked into the closet turned around, sat proudly and looked directly at my husband. I couldn't stop laughing.
