DAILY GAME TIME!!!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Daily Game is generously sponsored each day by Ike's Art!!!  Ike is another returning sponsor who has been kindly offering her digital art for the Cat Lovers Hops for 6 years in a row.  Many thanks, Ike!! 🖤
 .......................................
Very Special Note to all Cat Hoppers:
Many of you already know that our dear friend Ike is currently battling cancer and has been undergoing surgery and chemo.  More surgery is in the near future and so she might not be able to join with us during this year's Hop.  Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she fights through this difficult challenge.
We love you, Ike, and are praying for healing and strength!!  💗💗💗
.......................................
PRIZE: Not only is Ike's Art sponsoring our Daily Games, but Ike is also offering an additional grand prize of a $20 Gift Code to her online store!!   (WOW!!  Some lucky digi lover is going to go crazy with that prize!!!)
BONUS:  Ike's Show us Your Pussies - Cats Only Challenge theme this month is Furrything Goes.  Let's flood her challenge with our cat entries and show her how much we care about her!!
Please take time to visit Ike at these social media spots: Blog, Store, and Facebook Group. Don't forget to Like, Follow, Share, and Comment with a big "THANK YOU for sponsoring the 2020 Cat Lovers Hop at Her Peaceful Garden!"
Even with Ike's health challenges, she has pre-arranged with me to sponsor our Daily Games by graciously delving into her vault to offer one of her wonderful sets of kitty digital images for prizes. Take a look at her fur-bulous Fleaz Navidad digital set.  Each day of the Hop, I will feature one of the images from this set as the prize for that day's Daily Game.
Well....as you might know, this autumn has been a wild ride in many, many ways for our family and I decided I needed to keep things as simple as possible for this hop.  That meant that I was NOT going to pressure myself into making cards for the Hop.....hard as that was for me to accept!
As it turned out, Ike actually came to my rescue by pulling this older set out as a prize.  It has been 4 years since she designed this set for our 2016 Cat Lovers Hop Daily Games.....and I had photos of cards from back then that I had made!  So........taking a page from her book, I am also pulling these photos out of the vault for samples again.  Thank you for understanding!!
So, for today......the featured digital image from Ike's Fleaz Navidad digital set is "It Wasn't Me!"
Here's the card I made using it..............
NOTE:  PLEASE PLAY IN THE DAILY GAMES EVEN IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE IN THE DRAWINGS FOR THE DIGI PRIZES.
Not all of you use digis and have indicated that to me when you SIGNED IN.  I hope you will still participate in the Daily Games.  You do NOT have to participate in the digi giveaway to answer the Daily Game question that lets us all get to know each other better.  If you DO want to be in the digi prize drawing, be sure to link up your name each day that you participate!
REMEMBER.....you must link up your name in the linky tool at the bottom of each post to be in the drawing for the digi prizes.
DAY 1 GAME: Kitty Roll Call and In Memoriam :(
As usual, our Day 1 Game is Kitty Roll Call where we share with each other the names of each of the cats that call your home (or your back porch) their own....even if it is just a home away from home.  During Kitty Roll Call, you can tell us a little about your cats and you also may add to the roll call any that you have lost since last Cat Lovers Hop.  :( :( :(  Some of you might not have any kitties at home anymore, but please tell us about cats you have had in the past.
I will start.......
Here are my kitties:
1. Jetta - Jetta is my most senior cat, age 17. She is black with one adorable white whisker. That whisker has only turned white as she became advanced in age and her black coat became flecked with white. For years, she used to travel the half-mile across coyote-filled pastures to our old house, but finally retired here during the 2017 Cat Hop...much to our relief!  Jetta is in remarkably good health for her age.  She is mostly deaf and doesn't see as well as she used to, but her daily thyroid meds, vitamins, and joint supplements keep her looking and feeling amazing well for as old as she is.  She is a round little muffin of a cat and a real sweetheart.
 2. Charlotte - (In Memoriam) - Littermate of Jetta passed this last February at age 16. She never successfully made the move from our old house (abt 1/2 mile away) and had been living at the neighbor's property ever since.....where there were fewer cats to contend with!  These friends loved her spunky tenacity as an old lady kitty who preferred to live outside and they kindly provided food, care, and warm places for her to sleep in their barn.  She repaid them by providing on-site 24/7 rodent control.  Even though she didn't live with us, I miss seeing our Char-Baby out and about when we would be over near their house.  <3
3. Andromeda - Our sweet little Night Sky Kitten, age 8, with her unimaginably soft, solid black coat. She is outside only, and dearly loves, loves, loves to be petted whenever we step outside.  Such a sweet baby who diligently searches for any exposed skin on your neck or arm to lick when being held......infantile nursing instinct even though she is all grown up!!  lol...
4. Marshmallow - the 2020 Cat Lovers Hop Badge Kitty!!!  A big soft clump of something sweet.  This formerly timid, very simple soul with a long coat and magnificent tail has turned into a bully in his advancing age of 14 years.  Not taking guff from anyone...anymore!! Ha.  For weeks we would hear a scuffle on the porch and look out there....no cats in sight, except for Marshy....looking completely innocent!!! (Sly old fox!!  lol.)   As inconceivable as it seemed, we finally concluded that Marshmallow might actually be the perpetrator!!  Indeed, we eventually "caught him in the act".  He and Alexander are still best buddies, though.....eating together, playing together, sparring together, sleeping together.....it is soooooooo cute!!!
Scamper - 2006 -2020
5. Scamper - In  Memoriam - With a sad heart, I report that just over 24 hours ago we lost our dear Scamper-Girl, age 14. 💔💔💔 She had been doing very poorly last week and I moved her into a warm box in the bathroom.  I soon realized she would not make it through the Hop. :(
Scamper was always the undisputed Queen of the Back Porch...even chasing off raccoons!!!  She had suffered with some chronic health issues over the years, but we think she possibly tangled with a raccoon that got the best of her a few months ago.  She got a terribly deep and extensive abscess on her neck which, despite my vet hubby's efforts, caused hearing loss, swallowing issues, and other problems.  We will miss her spirited ownership of the back porch, even intimidating resident toms away from the food until the Queen had finished, and the funny way she would watch me at the kitchen window when I was cooking or washing dishes with a slight tilt of her head (as though she were trying to get a closer look).  I chose her as last year's 2019 Cat Lovers Hop Badge Kitty because I knew she was not in the best of health...and, with kitties, you just never know.  Glad I did.
She and Marshmallow were littermates....(the last kittens from a prolific feral barn mommy)....that we adopted when we found mamacat DeeDee nursing them in a box on our back porch.  DeeDee flew off and we kept the babies.  (Jetta is their big sister from an earlier DeeDee litter that we found in the barn.)  Rest in peace, my sweet Scamper-Girl.  💔💔💔
6. Ophelia - Our big boy cat with the girl name....long story that I have detailed several times in past Cat Hops. lol.... That whole thing is particularly embarrassing since my hubby is a veterinarian!! Ha. Now age 10, Ophelia is a big lazy neutered male whom we affectionately call "Oaf-elia" or Oaf-Cat. In the winter, he gets fat and becomes our "Loaf-elia" or Loaf-Cat. :)
7. Whiskers - Whisk-Whisk is a clownish Black and White Tuxedo kitty, the sister and littermate of Ophelia...so, also, age 10.  She's outside only, but one of our very favorites because of her perky personality. She's a great huntress and often won't leave the chicken house at night when I close the gate because she knows there are furry little 4-footed snacks that emerge in the darkness. She loves her little head rubbed.
8. Mistopheles - Started as a part-time tom, then we caught him and neutered him. Now he is ours. He's long-haired and solid black. He is so sweet and so drooly when you pet him.....ick! :)
9. Othello - Ginormous part-Siamese solid black cat, age 10, that nearly suffocates you when he drapes himself across your neck for a nap. Easily weighs over 20 lbs. He's our Oaf-Fellow!
10. Alexander - Started as a part-time tom but now is neutered and inseparable with his best buddy, Marshmallow. Alexander is still nervous about eyes looking at him, but will come over to me to be petted most anytime I call to him. Loves his tummy rubbed when I find him in a nest on the back porch. He's still too nervous to enjoy being held, but I do it occasionally to try to habituate him.
11. Brian - Beautiful classic brown tabby patterned male, age 6. Littermates with Caspian and Judith....very, very sweet.
12. Caspian - A gentleman kitty with a gentle personality. He is littermates with Brian and Judith.....so, also, age 6.  Caspian loves to come in the house but never wants to stay in for long.
13. Judith - Judith, also age 6, is our very, very naughty wanderer. When the weather is decent, she shows up every 3 or 4 weeks (or even months!) for a day or two or three...then she is off again. A storm or cold weather will usually bring her home again...for a time.  As I write this the week before the Hop, we have snow and single digit temps in the forecast and she showed up this morning....right on schedule!  She's a simple and sweet kitty and it drives me crazy that she won't stay home. I used to think that she might lead a double life, enjoying the benefits of another family in our area that perhaps does not have so many other kitties, but she comes home so very hungry that now I think she is just living out on her own during those times. I miss her and worry about her. We have way too many predators around here for that to be a good lifestyle choice for any kitty. :(
14. Skippyjon - Siamese-X and still a character! Poor Skippy can only be inside with careful supervision, but he is well behaved in my son's room so he often gets to sleep there at night.....which he loves!!
15. Perdita - She is our exotic, lovely Siamese. She has completely established herself as a diva who only wants affection on her terms. She wants a dollop of canned cat food anytime, though....but NOT 9 Lives, ONLY Friskies Poultry Favorites Pate style. I obediently give it to her twice a day, so she won't vomit out of spite!  Ha. She is a supremely sensitive creature, but is adapting extremely well to having our daughter and new grandbaby living here.  We are amazed.
16. Huckle - (In Memoriam) - So sad that we lost our Huckle several months ago.  He started as a part-time tom several years ago who became our Resident Tom, keeping other toms away for the most part. A ginger tabby, he looked an awful lot like Alexander and we strongly suspect they might have been littermates.  My son and I were juuuuuuuuuuuust beginning to gain his trust and to be able to touch and pet him (which he LOVED) when he took ill and died.  Vet hubby never could get close to him so we don't know what happened. So sad to lose this warrior when we were just getting to enjoy him.  :(
17. Lyman - (Temporary Visitor) - Lyman showed up for a time this last year.  A beautiful ginger tomcat (prob related to Huckle and Alexander!!) who obviously had a current or former home.  He was nervous, but warmed up to us easily.  Vet hubby neutered him in short order and we hoped he would stick around.....such a lovely cat....but alas he did not.  He probably went back to his real home.....and his true owners likely never even realized he had been neutered!  They prob just thought that "Pumpkin" (or whatever they call him) seemed to stay home more for some odd reason!!!  Ha.
18. Archibald - (Current Visitor) - Archie is a creamy orange tomcat who found our cat food a month or two ago and has occasionally visited since.  He's wary, but not as skittish as Tommy (see next entry).  He lets us watch him from the window. Perhaps he has a home currently...or did formerly. The weather has taken a very cold turn right now with single digit temps forecasted at night, so I imagine we will be seeing more of this tom.  At least we hope so!
19. Tommy - (Current Visitor) - I am going to include this strapping young tom who has just recently found our cat food trays.  :)  He is a gorgeous brown tabby who definitely knows he doesn't live here, but who can't resist a free meal that he doesn't have to hunt himself.  We would love to have him as a resident tom, but right now he is super-wary and skittish.  All the other cats are giving him wide berth currently...although I did see Scamper briefly come to blows with him last week!  lol...  We'll see if he turns out to be a part-timer or is just a winter visitor.
Last Hop we had 16 on our roster, so I guess with losing three (Charlotte, Huckle, and now Scamper), and one who came and went (Lyman), and adding two visitors (Archibald and Tommy), that takes us down to 13 that are really ours plus 2 visitors.....so 15-ish cats for now.
This is how to play the Daily Game to be eligible for the prize drawing:
1.  Make sure you have SIGNED IN HERE to be eligible for prizes.
2. Leave a comment giving us your Kitty Roll Call and anything you want to tell us about them. I never get tired of reading about everyone's cats!!!
3. After you finish your Kitty Roll Call comment: if you want to be in the drawing for the prize, fill out your (own) name in the link up below. This doesn't have any thumbnails so no photo needed! You don't even need a blog!!!  This is for everyone!!!
NOTE: The Daily Game link ups will be open the entire duration of the Hop, including the extra day for comments. Entries need to be in by 11:55 pm Pacific, Sunday Nov. 1, 2020 to be eligible for the daily prize. So you have more than just today to comment and link up. I realize that not everyone has access to a printer or likes to use digis, so I am still keeping the link up gadget to make sure the digi prizes go to winners who can use them. But I am hoping EVERYONE will participate in answering the questions whether they are putting their name in for the prize or not.
Okay, now it is your turn!!
REMEMBER: Link your cat-themed projects over on the Main Hop Page. (Please use #2020CatLoversHop on social media!!) This link-up below is just to enter the drawing for the Daily Game after you have commented with your Kitty Roll Call. Thanks!!!
Thank you sooooooooooo much for being a part of the 2020 Cat Lovers Hop. Let the kitty fun BEGIN!!!
Also, before you get started, PLEASE read the 2020 Cat Lovers Hop Guidelines and FAQs HERE. This will answer many of your questions, particularly if you are new to our hop!
**************************************************
How to join in the 2020 CAT LOVERS HOP:
**************************************************
There are three ways to get a chance to win a randomly-drawn prize from our awesome sponsors:  linking up a cat project, commenting on linked-up projects, and participating in the Daily Games.
1. LINKING UP A CAT PROJECT: The Cat Lovers Hop is open world-wide....so please SIGN IN, and then link up a cat-themed project right here at the bottom of THIS post by 11:55 pm Pacific, Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020.
NEW THIS YEAR:  There is a limit of 5 projects for the week.
I hated to have to limit the number of entries, but it was getting a little bit unwieldy for us to get around to every entry to comment.  Several people mentioned last year that limiting it would be helpful, so we will try this out this year.  Thank you for understanding!
***Please use #2020CatLoversHop on social media platforms (e.g. FB, IG, etc.) and allow PUBLIC (or UNLIMITED or ALL) permissions to view...not just FRIENDS...or most of us won't be able to see or to comment on your project!***
You may enter your project in as many other challenges as you wish. See my 2020 Cat Lovers Hop Guidelines and FAQs HERE to see what qualifies as a cat-themed project, so you don't miss out on being eligible for the prizes!! Around half the prizes will be randomly drawn from projects linked on this page. Be sure to include my 2020 Cat Lovers Hop Badge in your post.
2. COMMENTING ON LINKED-UP PROJECTS:  Leave a comment on any or all of the cat projects from the link up. The more comments you leave, the better your chances of winning!  Comments on projects must be made by 11:59 pm Pacific, Sunday Nov. 1, 2020 to be eligible for the comment prize drawings. (Notice that you have an extra day for commenting, especially helpful for visiting those projects that come in on the last day of the link-up.)  Around half of the prizes will be randomly drawn from comments on the cat projects.  You must SIGN IN to be eligible for the comment prizes, even if you are not linking up a project.
And, yes....a PRIZE will be awarded to one randomly-drawn lucky hopper who comments on ALL the projects!!  I will have a special link-up on the final Wrap Up Day next Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020....which is the last day to leave comments.  If you manage to comment on all the projects in the hop by 11:59 pm Pacific that day, you can link your name up on that final day to be in the drawing.
3. PARTICIPATING IN THE DAILY GAMES:  There will be  Daily Games (usually consisting of icebreaker questions about you and your cats) at the bottom of each of my daily posts (Those posts will have titles such as: Day 1....Day 2...etc) There are prizes from our sponsor, Ike's Art!!  And no blog is required!!  :)
  You can link up your entry to the Daily Games throughout the duration of the Hop, including the extra day for commenting.  You need to be SIGNED IN and have your entries in for the Daily Games by 11:59 pm Pacific, Sunday Nov. 1,  2020 to be eligible for the prizes. These prizes will be available world-wide! Yay!!
NOTE:  Even if you do not use digital images and don't want to link up for the drawings, PLEASE PARTICIPATE IN THE DAILY GAMES so we can get better acquainted with you!!  This truly is what makes our Cat Hops so extra special!!
Okay, now......just how incredibly fantastic is that line-up????? Are you excited yet? I am, too!!! I am so humbled and appreciative that each of these wonderful sponsors has agreed to support the Cat Lovers Hop. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all these new and returning fabulous companies!!! I will be introducing them in more detail on my daily posts, so be sure to come back each day!!
As I was listing all these amazing kitty stamp sets, it occurred to me that many of you cat lovers might already own some of these sets. If you would like to tell me in the comments of this post which (if any) of them you already have, I will try to make sure that if you happen to be a lucky winner you will get a set you don't have yet!  No guarantees, though. :)
All cat-themed projects must be linked up right here at the bottom of THIS POST to be eligible for prizes. (Please use #2020CatLoversHop on social media!!) Each day of the hop, I will have DAILY games with a link-up on that day's post....specifically for THAT game. PLEASE do not link your cat project up in the daily posts......only right here on THIS POST. Thank you!
So.....Are you ready????
On your claws. Get set. Gooooooooooooooooooo!!! Have fun with this and let me know if you have any questions.  Let's beat 2020 at its own game and make Hop #6 the best ever!!!
GIVEAWAY -
Post my 2020 Cat Lovers Hop Badge (closes Oct. 25th)
SIGN IN
below for the 2020 Cat Lovers Hop (REQUIRED to be eligible for prizes!!)
Please look at the 2020 CAT LOVERS HOP - GUIDELINES and FAQs
Get started making your cat projects for the hop!!!
Hi, Friends and Cat Lovers.....
Are you all getting excited for the 2020 Cat Lovers Hop????  I sure am!  This is our 6th year together....AMAZING!!!  A couple of years ago, I introduced this SIGN IN to make my bookkeeping easier when I am randomly drawing the names for prizes for the Cat Lovers Hop. It helped me a lot and so I am continuing it this year.
Since I want half of the prizes to go to commenters and half to project entry participants, I am asking everyone who wants to participate and be eligible for prizes to please sign in here. That way when people comment on your projects who are just followers of your blog and not really intending to be part of the hop they won't end up with a wonderful cat stamp set that they might not even want!!
Remember: YOU MUST SIGN IN HERE TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR PRIZES!!!!!
Also, some of our sponsors are only able to mail their prizes to USA addresses, so I need to know what country you live in. Besides, it's fun to see where everyone lives. :) Also, please leave me your email address (in code is fine) so I can easily get a hold of you if you are a lucky winner.  In the past, I've had to track one or two people down each year and sometimes they didn't even know they were part of a Cat Lovers Hop!! I want these prizes going to people who really are a part of our hop.
One other thing, some of our sponsors are offering digital images as prizes. I realize that not everyone uses digis or has a working printer and so might not really want one of them as a prize. This is your opportunity to let me know..."no digis please!", if you do not want to be considered for those prizes.
Included in the sign-in are a couple of prize opportunities from our fabulous sponsors that I think you are going to love. If this is your first year ever participating in the Cat Lovers Hop, please mention that in the comments, too. One of the prizes will go to a lucky randomly drawn first-time participant. Have you participated EACH year of the hop (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and this year 2020)??? One of the prizes will go to a lucky participant that has been with us from the beginning and not missed a year!
 Also.....in the past I have sometimes been confused by alternate usernames on different platforms for posting, linking, commenting, etc.  Many of us (including myself!) use two or more different monikers and most of the time I know who you are.  There are a few of you, though, who confound me each year!  (Hahaha....not too difficult to do!!)  Could you please list all your common usernames in the comments, too, to assist me when I am cross-eyed from running Random.org and making sure I have the right person from the right country getting the right prize?  THANKS!!
One last thing, MarkerPop has agreed to sponsor us again this year with one of their super-generous Mystery Prizes to a USA winner willing to pay $8.50 in shipping through PayPal.
IF YOU LIVE IN USA, do you want to be in the running for the MarkerPOP prize (value $50) that will require you to pay $8.50 in shipping via PayPal? If so, please say in comment "YES - MarkerPOP". (It will be WELL WORTH the shipping price!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

TO SIGN IN (now through 11:59 pm Pacific, Sunday Nov. 1, 2020, which is the last day for comments.).... Please leave comment below with the following info:
1. What country you live in.
2. Your email address (in code is fine).
3. "Digis okay" or "No digis, please".
4. Tell me if this is your FIRST YEAR participating or if you have PARTICIPATED EACH YEAR without missing. (Commenting and/or linking up a project counts as participating!! So even if you were not able to make a project, but did hop around and leave some comments here or on the projects EACH YEAR...that counts!!)
5. Alternate usernames on different platforms so I know who you are if you are a random winner there. (e.g. Janis, Janis in ID, J.Woolbright)

          6. For USA residents, tell me "Yes to MarkerPOP!" if you want            to be in the running for that prize.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Remember: YOU MUST SIGN IN HERE TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR PRIZES!!!!!
Thank you for helping out with this sign-in procedure. I appreciate your patience and understanding.  Let's make this 6th Cat Lovers Hop the best ever!!
Card Chain Challenge - September Reveal
Hi, Friends.....
It's time for the September Reveal for the Card Chain Challenge.  It's so much fun to see what everyone has made to share!!
I received this lovely card from Gundi in Germany .....so cute!!  She even included some sweet kitty surprises as a special gift.  Thank you, Gundi!!  ❤
One of the themes for September was a shaped card so I triiiiiiied to make a kitty card using some lovely Paper Smooches dies and some photo-realistic fur patterned paper.  Unfortunately, it ended up looking more like a WOLF!!!  Oh, my.....  (Note to self:  go whimsical, not realistic with these dies!!  lol...) Here's the "wolf-cat" card I made for Nat in Canada.  (sigh...)
Supplies used include:
  • Paper Smooches - Cat Dog Card Dies (retired)
  • Kaisercraft - Pawfect paper set
  • DCWV and Core'dinations scraps for facial features
Hope you liked my card.....even though it looks like a wolf!! Ha. (By the way....I gave the dies a second try on a different card and it turned out looking like a super-cute cat.  Purr!!  I will post it sometime soon.)
You can still sign up for the October exchange through Oct. 7 HERE.  I hope you will join us!!!
Thank you for stopping by!!
❤
Janis
Lawn Fawn Pottery Barn Ink Cube Set
(contains Jellyfish, Crunchy Leaf, River Rock, and Jet Black)
Spectrum Noir markers
