 .......................................

Very Special Note to all Cat Hoppers:
Many of you already know that our dear friend Ike is currently battling cancer and has been undergoing surgery and chemo.  More surgery is in the near future and so she might not be able to join with us during this year's Hop.  Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she fights through this difficult challenge.
We love you, Ike, and are praying for healing and strength!!  💗💗💗
.......................................

PRIZE: Not only is Ike's Art sponsoring our Daily Games, but Ike is also offering an additional grand prize of a $20 Gift Code to her online store!!   (WOW!!  Some lucky digi lover is going to go crazy with that prize!!!)

BONUS:  Ike's Show us Your Pussies - Cats Only Challenge theme this month is Furrything Goes Let's flood her challenge with our cat entries and show her how much we care about her!!
Please take time to visit Ike at these social media spots: Blog, Store, and Facebook Group. Don't forget to Like, Follow, Share, and Comment with a big "THANK YOU for sponsoring the 2020 Cat Lovers Hop at Her Peaceful Garden!"

Even with Ike's medical challenges, she has pre-arranged with me to sponsor our Daily Games by graciously delving into her vault to offer one of her wonderful sets of kitty digital images for prizes.

Take a look at her fur-bulous Fleaz Navidad digital set...which she originally designed for the 2016 Cat Lovers Hop.  It's a good one!!  Each day of the Hop, I will feature one of the images from this set as the prize for that day's Daily Game.

In the interest of keeping things manageable for myself in this year's Hop, I decided to follow Ike's lead and I am using cards I made back in 2016 as samples again, too.

So, for today......the featured digital image from Ike's Fleaz Navidad digital set is "Ai Haz Mizzeltow".  So sweet!!!!

And here's the card I made with that digital image:

NOTE:  PLEASE PLAY THE DAILY GAMES EVEN IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE IN THE DRAWINGS FOR THE DIGI PRIZES.
Not all of you use digis and have indicated that to me when you SIGNED IN.  I hope you will still participate in the Daily Games.  You do NOT have to participate in the digi giveaway to play along or answer the Daily Game question that lets us all get to know each other better.  If you DO want to be in the digi prize drawing, be sure to link up your name each day that you participate!

REMEMBER.....you must link up your name in the linky tool at the bottom of each post to be in the drawing for the digi prizes.

DAY 4 GAME: Are Your Cats Friendly with Visitors....or do they sense STRANGER DANGER???!!!

I'll start......
My cats definitely sense "Stranger Danger". Maybe it is because we don't have very many visitors....esp now that we live in rural Idaho. But my outside cats scatter when someone drives up and my inside cats growl and run under the bed or race up the ladder to the loft in terror! lol... We are homeschooling my 10 yr old granddaughter this year and my Jetta stays up in the loft nearly the entire day when we are having school....even though she knows my granddaughter!! Cats are so weird!! ❤❤❤
This is how to play the game to be eligible for the prize drawing:
1.  Make sure you have SIGNED IN HERE to be eligible for prizes.
2. Share in the comments about your cats reacting to visitors.
3. After you finish your comment: if you want to be in the drawing for the prize, fill out your (own) name in the link up below. This doesn't have any thumbnails so no photo needed! You don't even need a blog!!!  This is for everyone!!!
NOTE: The Daily Game link ups will be open the entire duration of the Hop, including the extra day for comments. Entries need to be in by 11:55 pm Pacific, Sunday Nov. 1, 2020 to be eligible for the daily prize. So you have more than just today to comment and link up. I realize that not everyone has access to a printer or likes to use digis, so I am still keeping the link up gadget to make sure the digi prizes go to winners who can use them. But I am hoping EVERYONE will participate whether they are putting their name in for the prize or not.

Okay, now it is your turn!!

REMEMBER: Link your cat-themed projects over on the Main Hop Page. (Please use #2020CatLoversHop and PUBLIC settings on social media!!) This link-up below is just to enter the drawing for the Daily Game after you have commented. Thanks!!!

Okay....let's get started on this second half of the 2020 Cat Lovers Hop!!

  1. I've always tried to teach my cats to welcome the people I have welcomed into my home. it's worked for most of them but Sammy would always run away and hide when people visited, even though he was very affectionate with the family.
Of my 3 grand-cats, one is Totally Terrified and never says hello to us, one I've not met yet due to Covid travel restrictions, and one we only see about once a year because he lives with my daughter overseas, but he loves us and is always the first to greet us when we step out of the car for a visit.

  2. Yassi is so much better at greeting people, she is discerning though, I think they have to 'smell' right! She will approach, but wont be stroked she will back away. It would have to be a REEEEEALLY special person for her to let pat or feel so comfortable to climb up in a lap. Blackie on the otherhand, he would have ran the minute the knock on the door - everyone was a danger in his mind. He wouldnt come out until the visitor/s had completely gone. So with that extreme to Yassi, she does fine in comparison :)

  3. Ahhh I love your card for today, the kitty looks just like our Daisy. (She lives with my Mum and Dad and is pure white... well till she rolls in the mud!!)
Our wee Harry is quite a scardy kitty, sadly I dont know how he would be with others in the house as we got him at the start of UK lockdown and there hasn't been anyone here to visit since. Going by the way he was with me to begin with I think he would have a real fear of folks he doesnt know xx

  4. My biggest cat, Goose, is the most afraid of everyone. Now that my daughter lives on her own, he timidly peeks out when she comes over to visit. My middle cat, Maverick, is cautious but may come out if a visitor stays long enough. My little cat, Iceman, would go home with anyone!

  5. My cats are very unsociable. They do not tolerate people, it is impossible to pet them. Needless to say, they have their own character.

  6. Tommy loved people. He adopted me.
    Several families in our building
would take care of him when I was
away from our condo. He didn't
mind them, but seemed to be
    at home best with me.

  7. Our oldest sleeps when anyone comes in so she's not bothered at all. Our youngest thinks everyone who comes in is coming to see him and he's all over them, lol! The other seven definitely sense 'stranger danger' and disappear when anyone comes in! One of those seven thinks my husband is a stranger when he comes in with his hat on, lol! They all have their own personalities and they are hilarious! ;)

  8. Our boys are both usually a little wary of guests at first. They'll usually find somewhere safe to wait and see if the guests are going to be scary or not. Our girl on the other hand likes to greet everybody.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Well, Bud, Junior, Max and Sylvester all need to come out an investigate a stranger and to see what they are all about. Mew and Lily will find a safe place to keep an eye on the stranger. But as soon as they see that the stranger isn't going to hurt them, they will come around. :)

  10. As I've shared before, all three of my cats run to hide under the bed the minute they hear a car engine they done recognize pulling into the driveway. 2 of them were born feral and they seem to have taught that behavior to Mollie, who was re-homed when she came to live with us at 8 months old.

  11. My girl cat Cleo used to love to welcome all visitors. She would sit briefly on everyone's lap and accept some fuss before moving on and eventually coming back to sit on me for the duration of the visit. My current cat, Custard, tends to run off when he hears the door knocker. Some of my friends didn't know we had a cat for ages! Jo x

    ReplyDelete
  12. Coco likes to check out any strangers! She doesn't always hang around to visit though, and often heads back to take a nap on my bed!
Love the digi you used on the card you shared for today's post!

  13. Honeydew loves everybody - strangers, family, friends - he's a real people cat. Kiwi is nervous and stays out of sight but if the visitors stay long enough, he will eventually wander out of hiding to see what's going on. Snowie is curious and likes to see who's here. We really don't get that many visitors so it's a big deal when we do! Thank you for Day 4 of the hop and all of the amazing sponsors and prizes! I've already fallen behind but so thankful that we have tomorrow and Saturday to get caught up with commenting. Still contemplating the Day 3 game so I will have to get back to you on that one. Thanks again, Janis!

  14. Barney kind of takes his cues from me when the doorbell rings. If I don't try to avoid the visitors, he seems OK with it. Although he does tend to let out a low "grrrrrr" when he hears a knock or the doorbell. Since I tend to be people-averse, I figure he's a cat after my own heart! LOL As for Zipper & Ginger, they generally run and hide if someone comes in. If a delivery person rings the doorbell and immediately leaves, though, it doesn't seem to bother them much. :) ~ Andrea

  15. Our first "generation" of cats that we had when we were first married were a mix of brave and scared. But, our "alpha" kitty. She was the hostess with the mostess! She would approach our guests when they were sitting, and she would sit up on her haunches, and put one paw up in the air, asking for a "high five". I'd like to take credit for that "trick" but she did it completely on her own! Needless to say, she was a hit at parties! LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  16. One of my cats, Dory, love visitors (if they don't have little kids ah ah) but the others fiv are so much worried by extraneous and after some "Pfffff" and "Grrrr" they run away and hide in a second!
Thanks for all your efforts about this fabulous Hop!!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Most of my kitties are big scaredy cats! Ralphie will usually come out, but he can be a scaredy cat at times too! Leo is pretty laid back; he will come out if he decides he wants to. It has to be his idea! lol... Miley and P.J. said "Forget it", they have no interest in it.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Ike is very kind.
    You made so pretty card.
    My cats are friendly.
They like to say hello to visitors.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Two of our cats - Arya (mum) and son Henry.. disappear as soon as there's a strange car or people in the yard... Arthur (son) is like
    - Oh!! is that someone who could feed me and stands at the feed bowl waiting, Watson (dad) - he's the smoocher, loves a pat and a scratch from most visitors. But my story is about Arthur - I call him the watchcat because there is a stray black and white who loves to sneak in the catflap and eat the bickies in the evenings... so Arthur can sense he's about and lies there watching with a few grrrrrs... the visiting cat is gone in a flash.

  20. I'm loving the stories and all the cat names and just how many have more than one cat..

    ReplyDelete
  21. The picture of the cat hiding is so cute,I think it depends on how my babies feel that day sometimes they run around and go crazy when someone comes up to my door even if no one is inside but us or sometimes they will just go crazy and hide under the bed or in the bathroom until they think it's safe to come out

    ReplyDelete
  22. My cats are all outdoor
wild cats, so a few we
    can pet, others just
    run away.
    Carla from Utah

    ReplyDelete
  23. One of our cats, Bailey, was afraid of everyone, except for me. He was a feral kitten that we coaxed out from under the garden shed and he never did get used to people, even though he was a mostly indoor cat. The other cats were all people lovers...to a fault!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Most of mine are quite sociable. During this isolation thing they are not used to seeing people, so when a couple of friends visited me yesterday there were 11 cats vying for their attention hahahaha

    ReplyDelete
  25. The three kitties I have now actually make themselves pretty scarce when strangers arrive, then slowly start to peek out and investigate, with Omar being first. Then one day the maintenance guy was over to fix the bathroom sink, and Omar came right out to him and let him give him scratchies!. I was so surprised! He said he and Omar became friends when he was over before when we weren't home. The sink "project" by the way, turned out to be a big deal since we had to have the faucets removed and the double sink counter reglazed, so Omar and the maintenance guy got to hang out together. Omar would sit in the bathroom doorway and watch him work as he chatted with the cat.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Wow! Another day of fabulous prizes! Thanks for the shout out, too.
Our cats always disappeared when company came.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Only one of my previous cat would snarl if stranger tried to pet or befriend her. She was also rather grumpy sometimes.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Definitely Stranger Danger--she disappears. She is getting used to the grandchildren because she knows they will feed her.

    ReplyDelete
  29. we can't have our own cat but cat from our grandma is very friendly with visitors. I like this and my kids too.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I love this pretty card and the colors. The sheer ribbon is gorgeous! Anna Banana walks around the whole neighborhood - she likes a pet from any human! And Rocky runs into his cage for awhile and eventually comes out to land on someone's shoulder (but no pets or you'll get bit!).

    ReplyDelete
  31. Awesome card with that cute cart Janis. My cat is her own self and bestows her favours where she sees fit. Hugz

    ReplyDelete
  32. Love your Merry Kissmouse, oops Kissmas card, Janis.
Casey generally shies away from visitors, but if the visitor happens to be family, then once he has sniffed them out from a distance, he comes to greet them by brushing up against their legs. x

    ReplyDelete
  33. All of our cats always hid when people came over unless they knew them already and then they were fine.
